Father Lennon Park, located next to the Selim-Rogers Recreation Center in Providence' Smith Hill neighborhood, features a large field, walking paths, a playground and community garden. The park also has a Skate Bowl and Pump Track for skateboarders and bikers, and a parkour area for those looking for a more adventurous playground!
A lot of kids come here to skate, so it's becoming more of a Skate Park than a green space, walkable park...even though there are 0.2 miles of paths for walking. Still there are nice places to relax away from the skate park....
This park was formerly a soccer field, but was rededicated in 1997 to Father John Lennon, a Dominican reverend who grew up near the park and was an active community leader.
Little kids enjoy the playground for 5-12 year-olds, paths to link features in the park, shade trees, and a rain garden.
