This place is legit. Food was Good. Bar was on point. House made Beers, Ales and IPA's. Whisky selection better than average- even for us Bourbon guys. The Chef visited the table. We arrived late, 40 minutes before close and were treated well and given a tour of the Church. The whole ambiance screamed Old World 1300's. I would say this is elevated pub fare. Everything is scratch, chef prepared fare. The Fish and Chips was outstanding, portions were fair and I am a bigger eater. I thought I photo'd the food. Sorry.

Great food! The ginormous pretzel was a perfect shareable choice; crisp buttery shell and inside perfectly cooked deliciousness! Great service; Antonio was a great server; we didn't ever need to wait for anything. Loved the beer flight choices. Unique atmosphere; I always enjoy taking friends who have never been!

No beer yet as of 1/29, but the food was fantastic. We shared the cheese curds (actually had flavor). And Caesar Salad was also amazing. The atmosphere is really cool. We drove 2 hours, we will do it again sometime.

This is one of the most unique places I've ever been. Just a very, very cool atmosphere. We got there early so we could walk around and there's so much to see! Food was really good- we had steak tips , a ribeye and mussels appetizer. Fantastic! Definitely a must stop especially this time of year. If you're looking for a unique place for s small group they have several private rooms set up for such an occasion. Great food and service too!

What a hidden gem! That's a cliche, but truly, this place is a diamond hidden in a small town. Not only is it absolutely awesome inside- seriously, no matter where you sit, get up and explore all the other rooms, including the outside grotto- this was probably one of the top 10 meals of my lifetime. And that's hard to do. Mind blowing esthetic AND delicious food? UNICORN. We walked it with a party of 14 and were seated immediately at a giant wooden table with giant leather chairs and a huge sword right in the center of the table. We started with the pretzel- which is something I demand you do, as well. It was delicious and shareable, though I wouldn't agree to ever share it with more than 1-2 others because it's so yummy and you should be selfish about it. I got the monte cristo with tots and it was a mountain of perfect food. Also good (because I stole it from their plates): chicken wings, burgers, ribeye, cheese plate, fried cheese curds. Truly, there are no bad decisions here.

Novel place, good food. But service is so poor it's not worth it. Almost 2 hours start to finish.

Good food, good drink. Just allow yourself time because the service is a little slow. Great unique setting.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quick check in, the cleanliness of the hotel lobby area and my room. The fitness room was small but well equipped so I could get a good workout in after a day of driving. I had a quiet room that overlooked fields in the back. I felt safe and comfortable and I got a decent nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was decent too. The only drawback for this hotel is that if you want dinner, you're going to have to drive a bit down into Montpelier or Bryan as the options directly around the hotel are limited. I was not inclined to go out again, so I ended up eating the snacks I brought for dinner.

This area doesn't have a lot of hotels but there's a Quality Inn, a motel, and this hotel all within a block or two. I have the IHG credit card so I chose this hotel. I booked a room with 2 queen beds since it was cheaper than 1 king; upon check-in, I asked if they had any kings, hoping maybe I would get a free upgrade since I have silver status with them, but unfortunately they said a room with a king bed would be $30 more, so I kept my original room. Pros: -spacious room, and the bed was comfortable -only three floors and you're never far from the elevator -has both a minifridge and a microwave. The minifridge was rather tall actually and when I tried to open the fridge it kept moving a little bit -free breakfast and some of the reviews on here were complaining about it, whereas others called it a continental breakfast. It was a typical of IHG breakfasts I have experienced lately and it actually had quite a lot of hot options too -The Wi-Fi was fast and mostly reliable, however it would not work for my Nintendo Switch. I had no issues for my iPad and phones though. Cons: -rooms are definitely a bit dated. However, my room was very clean. -No restaurant on site but that is typical of Holiday Inn Express hotels that I have stayed at. There's a restaurant attached to Quality Inn called JJ Winns that I did takeout from, which was good. -The minifridge was actually too cold; I put a bottle of water in the side door so I would have it for pills for the morning and it was actually mostly ice in the morning unfortunately. I'm sure this can be adjusted but I didn't think to do so. Overall I would stay here again, it was an adequate stay and the price wasn't too bad either (about $122 for the night, before taxes, comparable to the other hotels in the area).
