(Every other person we emailed for a quote did the same. None came to visit, and with COVID I was cool with that.) His quote was consistent with most of the other highly rated folk we reached out to for quotes. What set him apart was his clear emails with detailed pricing. It was clear that he knew painting was expensive, and people imagine doing everything at once and think of it as all-or-nothing. His pricing model showed it was some-at-a-time. (We did go all in though :) ) He was very responsive on email and answered questions from the mundane to the esoteric with patience and clarity. He came the day before the job was supposed to start to drop off supplies and map out everything that was should happen with me and his team. His team was great, polite, and professional. The speed and quality of the work was amazing. Everyone was happy to answer questions and explain what was happening. For me, the true test was with an accident that happened. Relatively minor, but Damian took full ownership and made it right without any discussion. That is how you do it. He gave great advice throughout the process, and respected what I needed. He even finished a day earlier than the quoted turnaround so I can make my hard deadline. Lexington painting did not sacrifice quality even with the short turn. The painting was smooth and even, and covered up the dark grey accent walls left by the previous owner. Even though it took more coats that originally quoted, Spiro did not charge me extra. Finally, the communication was excellent. Karen provided COIs and multiple SOWs quickly, and Spiro either texted or called to explain everything to ensure I was comfortable with the job. Unfortunately, after that things have gone significantly downhill. When the painters left they pushed all of my living room furniture to the middle of the room and said when the crew came back the following week to paint the baseboards and install the doors they'd put everything back. That happened on March 22nd. Since then, week after week they keep promising to try to come back and week after week they are no shows. I even explained to them that our building is expected to have a freeze on construction projects this week due to an impending strike so can they please wrap up this job before then, and they said yes but are now not responding to emails. I hope they ultimately make good on their service contract and I will update this review if that happens. For now, please steer clear, fellow yelpers.

Since…read moreI was keeping all my original fixtures (bathtub, sink, toilet) my main concern was they wouldn't be scratched or harmed in any way. Fred had to remove the old wall tiles, sheetrock and marble flooring before laying new glass tiles and ceramic flooring. My fixtures were unscratched. Their work was perfect. Then after this perfect job was finished, we had a leak coming from the shower body behind the newly tiled wall. Fred came back and worked with the plumber to remove four glass tiles in the wall so the problem could be fixed. Then he replaced the tiles so miraculously, one cannot tell which tiles were replaced. Aside from his superior craftsmanship, Fred is responsive and communicative. He and his crew were neat, punctual and completed the job on time, without added expense. To book Fred, you need to set up with him four to six months in advance. He's in high demand.
