I hired Mendoza Construction earlier this year to reconstruct a kitchen bar countertop and move a wall in the living room with an attached closet. I was very excited to find a company that could do all this work. We wanted to test them out doing some light repairs and if it had gone well, we would have used them to fix our driveway and remodel our home. However, I contacted them several times (roughly 5 times by phone, twice by email). After approximately 2 weeks, I still have not received a quote. Osman and his crew worked on my basement in 2020. Worked performed included flooring, drywall, insulation, add half bath, finish laundry area and paint. The work began on time and was finished within the proposed time. Team came in and diligently began working everyday till project was finished. Osman and the team cleaned up daily and respected my home while working in it. They were also friendly and very respectful. We were very happy with the results and the attention to detail. Osman was super communicative throughout the project and even went out of his way to remedy the project when I gave them the wrong info. I had several substantial cracks in the foundation of my home, so I hired Osman and his crew to repair them. The work was expensive, but he was willing to negotiate a bit. Once the contact was signed and the first payment was made, the permits were acquired (faster than I would have expected in Jersey City), and the work began. Osman kept me up to date with photos (I wasn't living at the house at the time), and he finished faster than he had originally said it would take. The work was done very well, and he even repainted a door that needed it, though this was not part of the contract. A few small items of refuse were left behind, but overall the work zones were clean. I would give a five-star rating, except that the work was expensive (I had found a few cheaper quotes), and the work zones could have been a bit cleaner. Working with this company was great. They where on time and did exactly what I asked for. They where very professional in the way they conducted the job. They removed all debris and dust on the job site. I had my staircase completely replaced. They where able to build the entire staircase off site which allowed them to literally demolish and place the new staircase in what seemed like 8 hours. The craftsmanship of my new staircase is top notch. I can tell you how great the experience was but I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't mention the price was just right. I'm a bit of a handy man around my house so when I say their work and price are right I can attest to it. read more
