Other contractors quoted me ~$4,000, James and A Better Craft did a perfect job for over 6x less!! Super professional, super passionate and an all around amazing guy/team. Will without a doubt have James and his crew back for ANY work we need done. He attacked water damage with intelligence and deliberately addressed the leak, stripped the old paint, repainted, readjusted the frame, fixed the seal and so much more within only 6 hours over 3 visits. Super punctual, considerate of your time. You can really tell James is amazingly passionate by the way he conducts himself. Would recommend 1000x!!! Want to post pictures but since it's inside and outside work from water damage they won't do the job justice. Look below for superficial before & after.

James And Pedro did an amazing job painting my apartment. They worked quickly and I couldn't be happier with the results. James also patched up all of the holes left it the walls and ceiling by the electricians. Flawless! The doors to the bedroom, closets and bathroom were loose. James tightened them up for me too! I also had an issue with the electrical panel. It was exposed out of the Wall and was a complete eyesore. I almost made the mistake of framing it. But James talked me out of it. James painted it and it looks great. The price was right and the work was top of the line. Already thinking of new projects for the future. James is now my go to guy for all my home projects.

    James is the best!

I have worked with Gaudioso Contracting on several successful projects. One of the first jobs we worked on together was when Anthony Gaudioso's team rebuilt the street facade of a row house in BedStuy, Brooklyn, for me. His guys first got to the bottom of what had been done incorrectly by the previous cheapo contractor. They started by removing the other guys' mistakes. Anthony's guys then rebuilt the 3-storey street facade and stoop, created a fanlight over the entry door, ran appropriate wiring for new sconces that would flank the parlor-level entry way and illuminate the garden level entrance. They made sure to waterproof it all thoroughly. When the exterior was watertight, they then repaired the fairly extensive inside water damage. The finish facade, which had been approved by public hearing before the Landmarks Preservation Commission, was going to be a faux-brownstone stucco. When the client had purchased the row house, the street facade was covered in a multicolored, faux flagstone slathered on top of the wood building structure. The new finish facade required a new application of stucco as a faux-brownstone. Gaudioso Contracting provided several different color samples of the stucco finish (matched to other brownstones on the block), and as well as, color samples of alternative window colors, and entry door colors, for the Landmarks inspector's approval. As part of the stucco application process, they built up the elegant window and entry door surround details to satisfy the Landmarks Preservation Commission's inspector. They also brought in Adler Windows to replace all the water-damaged, crumbling, wooden double-hung windows with new thermal paned, powder coated, aluminum windows with appropriate brick molding to satisfy the Landmarks inspector. Gaudioso Contracting also built, painted and installed a replica of the neighboring brownstone's cornice which Landmarks approved. Their work was terrific. Each phase of the work moved smoothly and had expertly skilled craftsmen who specialized in the particular aspect of the job in hand at the time. They were on time and on budget. I was delighted with their reliability, responsiveness and professionalism.

Danny is honest, professional, fair, and genuinely a good person. He and his team finished the wall in no time and it looked amazing. For the past 7 years, if I need something done.. I call Danny. He has completed drywall, refinished my wood floors, repaired my ceiling, fixed sinks, doors, installed a fence, and just completed my back patio. What I appreciate about Danny and his team is the fact he takes the time to talk things out, brainstorm, and find the most reasonably priced route. And EVERYTHING that man and his team has completed for me in 7 years is still standing. I have not had one issue with the jobs he has completed. Honestly, he has fixed jobs that I had done when I first moved into my house. I am kicking myself that I did not call him first! If Danny says he will start on Saturday, he will start on Saturday. He communicates with me during the entire project. OH! AND HE CLEANS UP AFTERWARD!!! UNHEARD OF! So if you want a job completed where you do not have to go back to get it fixed again - and you want punctual, professional, courteous, respectful, transparent, fairly priced, QUALITY work done? Danny. Danny is the way to go. One day he joked "Never fear, Danny's here." Super true statement because I have never had a doubt in seven years. no notes

I was floored when I saw their costs, which was 2/3 more than other quotes I received. Why are renovations services pricing so opaque? What matters worse - they gave me a proposal for the wrong item. They priced some hidden wine cabinet for $20K that I did not request or even discussed with them. When I responded to them via email they went silent. Very unprofessional and classic gouging! Caveat: This company did not provide construction services for me; just estimates. I would have removed this post as I do care about small businesses, but this owner emailed me calling me a "child and cheap" and told me I should go to Wayfair and Homedepot because that's what suits me. There were other attacks but I will not go into on Yelp.
