I'll say they used to be fire but not all are made equal. The best one I've been to is in Woodland Hills. But in terms of consistency FB is the worst. The high ass price creates an expectation that they cannot deliver upon consistently. The burger is not that much better than burger king and for the money you get more and its flame broiled a tad bit healthier. $110 buck for four people is complete lunacy. lastly it seems FB will hire anybody. I haven't been to Fatburger for a very long time. I swung by and got some food and was shocked any the price. I got the Original and added cheese. Two orders of Fat Fries (my favorite) and a large lemonade. It was $30. I was shocked. That's a sit down meal. They asked me to pull forward. Then a woman came out with my food. She handed me my drink so I turns to put it in the cup holder. She was so impatient that she left my bag of food on my car window and it almost fell over. On top of that, the burger was disgusting. They put way too much relish and it was greasy and soggy. The fried weee cold and undercooked. Well with those prices, poor service, and bad food. I most likely won't be returning. read more

I used to come here a lot a couple of years ago and the food would never disappoint. I would say this is above all burger places and the service is always nice. Nice location as well they have a drive through, which I don't ever use but it's good for those who are in a rush. My only problem is that after being on a strict diet for years i finally had the chance to eat Fat Burger again. I spent $50 on three meals. Can be a little sketch at times because of the homeless population but that hasn't happened in a while. It wasn't too scary but you just never know these days. First of all the hours are amazing, staying open late is a huge plus for me. When I came to this establishment I knew nothing about it, I just knew I came in with an appetite! The menu was incredible as well as the pricing, when my food arrived I was shocked at how huge the portions were. It was definitely a fulfilling meal, a huge juicy burger with melty cheese mmm....I came with my family so it was definitely a family friendly atmosphere. TLDR: Come on down to Fat City, baby! I'm a fan of Fatburger, and particularly like the explanation of the name: it's a reference to a 50's expression - when you're doing well, you're in Fat City. And it's a reasonable expression of how good the food is too. Portions are healthy to say the least, and be sure to ask for steak fries as well as the burger done 'on the char' = grilled versus fried. I find it extra-flavorful that way. The thicker fries are also more satisfying. I only give this place four stars because the service is a little hit-n-miss, and this location is a little more divey than other locations. Still, absolutely worth a visit if you want a great American hamburger. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Stopped this location last night in the drive through. The last time I'd been here was nearly a decade ago, on a night when Kaiser was trying to pressure me to pull the plug and end my Mothers' existence. We escaped the hospital and came here to breathe. To think. To just "be". Over the years, whenever I'd come back up from San Diego and my brother would drive by Kaiser, those memories of those decisions flooded my mind. Late last night, as we pulled into the drive thru, bits and pieces of that long ago night in Fatburger began to flood my mind. But, the most CHEERFUL voice greeted us, was patient with us as we placed our confusing order and repeated and confirmed the order. I was so impressed before even got to the window that someone, late on a Sunday night could be so inspiring and cheerful. Once we got to the window, we spent a few minutes talking about that night, who was with us, how things went, etc. Them that cheerful voice was at the window, taking our payment, interacting with us in such an amazing fashion that I told my brother as we pulled away I with I'd gotten a name. But I can only say that $62.35 was not only the best meal, but the best service I've had since my very first trip to the Original Fatburger on Western Avenue in summer of 1970. Though I live in San Diego, I look forward to returning here on my next trip up, whenever that may be. read more

I've been to this location a few times, and always have the same issue at the drive-thru, it will take you at least 7 - 10 minutes to get your food, even with no line. Last night was no exception, I waited about 10 minutes to get my skinnyburger, a lettuce wrapped burger served with 2 patties. The burgers always get a consistent 4 stars from me, and always taste really fresh. The impossible burger here is also quite good, a solid 4 1/2 stars.
