Mr. Mike's, I…read moredecided this evening to give your restaurant a try again... and once again I was super disappointed. Wednesday at 6:30ish PM, you should be having your dinner rush like most restaurants. I walk in, no one at the front. I look left then right, it isn't very busy. No more than 15 people. I see the ladies standing in back talking, we make eye contact.. they're busy.. so I patiently wait... and wait.. 13 minutes go by, my bladders about to pop, so I walk to the washroom... walking by the girls, smiling.. they're still talking about whatever.. finish in the bathroom walk back to the front... still no one there, I wait... and wait.. finally having a seat. They're busy they know I'm here.. at least I think...I don't know why I didn't walk to McDonald's.. almost 30 Minutes of waiting... Finally I get seated... at a Booth.. furthest from the entrance, but not before walking past 2 dirty tables.. just to be sat at another dirty table. I get drink, I look at the menu, I order a appy. Came out looking delicious, it was put on the table and the waitress said enjoy walking away...I didn't have any utensils, no napkins.. just me my drink and my appy. Again I did that thinking thing... figured she'd be right back with some chop sticks at least... I was so Hungry a tooth pick would have worked..nope.. I got nothing... she was gone, I finished my drink and waited.. She brings me my dinner, and asks if I needed anything else.. I look at the table.. and ask for a fork.. she apologizes and brings me a fork lol but yet no napkin? Haha Let's talk about her body odour... and I know I'm not the only one who noticed.. I'm not sure if she's new or what the deal was.. but if she's new.. your management really dropped the ball on training. Food wasn't horrible, steak tasted a bit funny, but I haven't had a steak in a while.. so maybe it me.

We weren't sure where to go our first night in Hinton. After doing a quick search on Yelp and…read moreGoogle, we decided to try Smitty's. The menu was interesting. In addition to the normal diner food, they also had what looked like Asian food including butter chicken. I called in on my burner cellphone and ordered a fettucine alfredo for my wife, and a steak and eggs breakfast for myself. After arriving, I waited a few minutes and was given my food after paying. After receiving my food, I immediately drove back to the hotel. To my surprise, when I got back to the hotel, not only did I get my steak and eggs, the fettucine alfredo, but, I also had a bonus box of ginger beef. The food was okay. It was diner food. Service was okay. They did try to contact me on my burner cellphone to let me know that I received a bonus, but, I left the phone in the car. It's an okay place.

The food was pretty…read moremediocre overall, but everything was cooked well and it definitely hit that classic breakfast spot. The chocolate milk was a bit lacking, but the caramel macchiato was actually very good! The décor is definitely dated, though there were lots of "historic" pieces around that were fun to look at while waiting for food. Staff were very nice and friendly, which made the experience better. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a classic, no-frills breakfast on the go.

DISAPPOINTING POUTINE…read more I appreciate the convenience of this brewery--it was the first restaurant I saw getting off the train, so I came here. Restaurant looked nice from the outside, but I was disappointed when trying the poutine. Fries lacked crispiness, but I can forgive that. What I can't forgive is that the cheese curds were ice-cold, and did not properly melt, at time of eating.

The Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger is by far the best burger I've had in Hinton, and the French fries are always perfectly golden and fresh-tasting, like they use fresh oil every time. Delicious! The kids love the Supercheese 3 cheese pizza here, which doesn't go overboard on the cheese but is flavourful enough not to need to. Their sauce is tangy and uncomplicated, and the crust is gently crispy on the outside, fluffy and soft on the inside. Really great, comforting food here for a good price, and the staff are very competent and courteous. The manager is a sweet woman who makes table-side visits, calls everyone "Sweetheart," and is always very happy to see her guests. If there was free wifi I might never leave.

I recently visited this Dairy Queen location and had a mixed experience overall…read more The furniture and décor of the restaurant are definitely dated and could use some updating to make the space feel more inviting. One thing that stood out was that the freezers have locks on them, so an employee has to open them for you -- you can't even grab your own ice cream cake, which felt a bit inconvenient. It also appeared that there was only one employee working at the time. Because of this, if someone is ahead of you in line, you have to wait until their entire order is completed before you're even able to place yours, which made the wait longer than expected. We ordered two SKOR Caramel Brownie Cupfections. They tasted good and were enjoyable, but I paid an extra $1.28 each for additional fudge sauce, which felt a bit pricey for what was added. Overall, the desserts were tasty, but improvements to staffing, pricing transparency, and updating the restaurant's interior would really improve the customer experience.
