Stopped here to grab the kiddos a happy meal on our long drive from Washington to Edmonton, AB…read more The kids were over the moon when they saw that this location had a play space (which is the only reason for 2 stars). The play space itself is large with two levels of slides and lots of climbing. Unfortunately, this is where the good ended. They didn't have the advertised Minion toys and only had an orange dinosaur frisbie which we had picked up 3 weeks earlier on our month long road trip. The food was okay - but there was a decent wait time and confusion by the cashier when it came to placing our order. The restaurant was FILTHY and I mean filthy. The normal washrooms were "out of service" so we were instructed to use the washrooms inside the play space - no problem. BUT the single washroom in the play space had no paper towels, garbage everywhere (can overflowing) and a single roll of toilet paper laying on the ground. The play space was quite dirty inside and didn't look like it had been wiped down for quite some time. The garbage cans in the eating area were also overflowing. There as an abundance of staff (like more than 10 ppl that I saw between and line and front counter/customer service staff) and yet no one was cleaning up. Kinda makes you worry about the state of the kitchen in back. So we let the kids have their Happy Meal and then we went down the street to the Subway which was much nicer and cleaner! The only way I'd stop here again is under the duress of my car trapped road-trippin' children.

I recently visited this Dairy Queen location and had a mixed experience overall…read more The furniture and décor of the restaurant are definitely dated and could use some updating to make the space feel more inviting. One thing that stood out was that the freezers have locks on them, so an employee has to open them for you -- you can't even grab your own ice cream cake, which felt a bit inconvenient. It also appeared that there was only one employee working at the time. Because of this, if someone is ahead of you in line, you have to wait until their entire order is completed before you're even able to place yours, which made the wait longer than expected. We ordered two SKOR Caramel Brownie Cupfections. They tasted good and were enjoyable, but I paid an extra $1.28 each for additional fudge sauce, which felt a bit pricey for what was added. Overall, the desserts were tasty, but improvements to staffing, pricing transparency, and updating the restaurant's interior would really improve the customer experience.

We recently visited Rojo Marrón and had a really great experience overall!…read more We ordered the fish tacos, beef street tacos, and the "Espropapa" (definitely not spelling that right ). The Espropapa was honestly a standout -- absolutely delicious. The chipotle dip that came with it was AMAZING, and the presentation was a 10/10. The potato was sliced into a spiral and served on a stick, which made it both fun and visually impressive. The fish tacos were also excellent. They were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and topped with fresh vegetables. The chipotle mayo sauce paired with them was sooo good and really brought everything together. The beef street tacos were still very good and not dry at all, but compared to the other dishes they were slightly underwhelming. Still enjoyable, just overshadowed by how strong the other items were. Service was great -- our server was friendly, loved to chat, and checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. They even brought out a bucket of different sauces labeled with spice levels, which was a fun touch and let us customize the heat. The decor was very Mexican-themed and added a lot of character to the space. The tables looked a bit worn, but honestly it added to the overall style and vibe rather than taking away from it. Overall, a really enjoyable meal with great flavours, fun presentation, and welcoming service. Definitely worth a visit!
