The place was super clean and the staff were welcoming and paid immediate attention to my order. Now here is what I love about this place, you get to select your toppings ( excluding their specialty burgers ), unlike other places. What is nice is you can actually watch the staff prepare your burger ( add an egg to it.. you wont regret it ). There is a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from ( even a plant - based burger ) and fries. I chose the Double King , fries and a strawberry milkshake. As for the price, it;s not much more than any other place really. There's no such thing as cheaper these days. But for about $20 you get a good burger, fries and a drink. When you hear a tale like this, you know a business is truly focused on customer happiness. We went to Fatburger tonight with the plans to pick up an order of chicken tenders for takeout. Since it was raining, we used the drive thru window. After we picked up our order and were about 5 minutes away from the restaurant, we dug into the bag disappointed to find that the order was wrong. We had our heart set on the chicken tenders so we returned back to Fatburger to get the order right. We weren't sure how they might handle it seeing that sometimes restaurants aren't really happy and can be grumpy to see you come back, suggesting that your order was wrong. Their staff, Donna handled our request for a make-good in such a considerate and friendly way. Not only did she offer additional dipping sauces for our inconvenience but, she also let us sample the boneless chicken (BTW, chicken tenders and boneless chicken sound like they could be the same but, are different items on the menu). Superb service isn't limited to out of the ordinary circumstances. Donna was so professional in handling the error that for a moment, I felt like I was on a top notch cruise ship. While food quality of the chicken tenders was decent, it is the experience I had with Donna, from the minute I walked in the door to the minute I exited that was impressive. Great Service and Friendly This has been the most customer friendly location I've been to so far. The food is as good as it gets at the franchise being fresh and hot and made to order. You get a welcome when you arrive, friendly and helpful service when you order, attentively ask you how you are enjoying your meal (and fix it if you are not happy)and a goodbye when you leave. I've seen the manager deal with issues quickly and get it right and treats his employees with respect. This would be my Fatburger of choice as it is a step above over the other locations I've been to in the city so far. The Cajun Chicken Burger and Mushroom Swiss burger are strengths. I remember when the first Fatburger opened up in Edmonton and I was like, "omg this looks so cool" now it seems like there's a Fatburger everywhere. This is a chain restaurant, kinda fast-food like. It has a sort of 50's retro diner feel to it. You go up to the counter and place your order and then your given a number for your table and your food will be brought out to you. I've had Fatburger before and I know the portions are huge, so I just got the Hawaiian burger that was there special. It's like a bacon cheese burger but it also has teriyaki sauce and a pineapple ring on the bun. The flavours are good together, but the burger itself was way too salty. I know teriyaki sauce is quite salty, but this seemed saltier than most. I'm glad I decided to skip out on ordering fries or onion rings, but I wish I would have gotten a water. The service was good, and the portions are huge. Prices aren't bad either, but I don't think there's anything special about this location or any Fatburger in general to make me rush back again. read more

My mom was in town for a visit and was craving a good burger so I took her to Fat Burger and we had a great experience. I've only been there once and my mom never - the woman working the till was fantastic at giving advice for us. She let us know that most people take the 6 oz but a lot of women enjoy the 4 oz. We ended up going for the 6 oz bacon cheese burger but wish we would have gone for 4 as the burgers were big! But I knew enough to share an order of sweet potato fries. She was also great at letting us know two times that the drinks were bottomless - which I always appreciate. The burgers were delicious, loved the drink selection (I was all about the 1/2 lemonade 1/2 iced tea) and their sweet potato fries were perfect. We had great customer service every step of the way. For two burgers, one sweet potato fries and two drinks was almost $30 but I am okay paying for a quality and unique burger experience. :) read more

I love burgers and I go to Fatburger a couple times a month. My favorite burger is the Hawaiian burger. I always get my burgers wrapped in lettuce and they still taste great. The french fries are especially good when they're still hot from just being cooked. I pretty much eat the same thing when I go to Fatburger but I will try other items from the menu in the future. read more

so ive been getting around a bit and trying out some other guys... fat burger is still number 1 for me. Seems everyone in the place knows my name the second I enter. For a chain, you just don't get that level of friendly service anywhere else. I love the fun little thing they do calling out to the kitchen the orders and when they get a tip everyone thanks you. These guys really do deserve tips because they try extra hard all the time to make you happy. of course, I mentioned earlier that they do screw up my orders a bit... that still does happen from time to time. I think it might have a bit to do with how I take advantage of the build your own burger program they have here... love the topping choices... the free onion rings.... the delicious deli pickles... the special sauce... also don't mind paying for some premium options like the bacon... the fried eggs... the chilli... its all so good. again I figure, if they do mess my orders up a bit and im still giving 5 stars... then that's really a compliment isn't it? you got to have good food to get 5 stars under this circumstance. ive tried the doughnuts since the last time I reviewed... wow... baked warm... served with a caramel dipping sauce... so deadly addictive... awesome theres a few new menu items I haven't got to... but so hard to not just go for the burgers ive fallen in love with. I've tried Fatburger twice now, and both times I have been extremely disappointed. I came here last week with some of my co-workers for lunch (we usually just eat in our own establishment but couldn't this day). There were seven of us, and I can tell you - not one of us was blown away by the food or the service we received. Most of the party ordered burgers, and stated they were nothing to write home about. They looked small and unimpressive, soaking with sauce and limp lettuce. I had chicken tenders and sweet potato fries - The tenders were alright, but the fries tasted as if they hadn't been cooked long enough. The service was mediocre, pleasant but not overly helpful. They definitely didn't seem like they would go out of their way to make their customers happy. We had to ask multiple times for parts of our order, and I think the one person even forgot one of our party members ordered a milkshake with their meal. This was Fatburger's second chance to win me over, and they definitely did not do that. I will not be returning to this or any other location - I would rather go to McDonald's and build my own burger than eat at Fatburger again. read more

Fatburger is the greatest restraunt I've been to in the city, the food and the drinks are amazing and exceed my expectations everytime I come here. The staff also give me a warm welcome upon entrance and give off good energy! The atmosphere is also incredible, in the middle of summer the air conditioning is just right and in the middle of winter the building is warm enough to enjoy any meal you choose. 5 out of 5 stars, I personally recommend everyone to experience fantastic establishment for themselves. I order from skipthedishes and this location delivers to my home, so I can't comment on the restaurant/service/ambiance. What I can comment on is the yummy foodstuffs. They veggie burger is very nice, and I love the option of putting an egg or pineapple on your burger. I usually get the sweet potato fries which come with a delicious chipotle aioli. The place is phenomenal! Super clean and the staff is quick and efficient. The gentleman who served us was cheerful and so eager to make sure our order was correct. I ordered a double fat cheese with fries and gravy. The burger was juicy and the fries were delicious. The gravy easily rivals A&W for flavour. I'm not sure what my mother ordered but it was a bacon something and when bacon is on the title they mean bacon. They were not cheap with the slices, you easily got your money's worth! This location is a cluster...so unorganized and I'm guessing understaffed. I have ordered from here on two separate occasions months a part and both times it was a joke. The first time items were missed from our take out order. I called immediately and they told me to remind them next time and they would make up for it...didn't want my name or any information. Today I called ahead to order pick up, of course no one remembered the incident months ago...I kind of expected that. None the less. I go to pick up the order and there is a line up to the door, the entrance is long and narrow and there was no way to get to the front to pay. I left and drove through the drive through to get my food...which had clearly been sitting out for however long. And the order is messed up again. Awesome. I have been to this location multiple times because it's the closest one. Every time is excruciatingly slow and frustrating. It's usually the same lady taking orders in the drive thru. She is difficult to communicate with. She takes forever and doesn't seem knowledgeable on the menu. The food here is good which is why I go back. But service is beyond terrible. read more

Man, I can't say i usually go out of my way to write a review.. but this is definitely one time I would make an exception. I mean, sometimes you gotta think, "Am I taking crazy pills or something!?!?" this was certainly one of those times. My boyfriend had been drooling over the idea of fat burger for ages, and has been trying to convince me to go. When we showed up to the restaurant the lady at the front end was pleasant and accommodating to my restrictions ( gluten free) and offered a lettuce wrap, but I provided my own g-free bun instead. It was frozen and the cashier said she could microwave and grill it before serving it. Great! i was happy that they would go out of their way to help me :) So later they come up to me and say, " i microwaved it, is it good?" and showed it me, and I said that it looked fine :) So she kept saying she didn't know if it was okay or not, and I said if you grill it now it should be good. This other guy comes up and says in a incase-you-didn't-know tone "it's frozen m'am" Okay............... I didn't understand the question they were asking me. They just kept repeating that is was frozen. Which yeah.. i knew this and thought they could figure out how to unthaw a frozen hamburger bun. So they serve it to me still frozen. I take it back and ask if they can just grill the whole thing. Apparently it was just too difficult to figure out, they had to take another bun and throw out the first one. Gluten free isn't exactly cheap, buddy. The guy kept talking to me in a rude tone, as if I were an idiot. " It's frozen m'am" he kept saying. No shit. You guys never eat frozen bread before? "Next time you should let it sit out on the counter for a day before bringing it in. It would take 30 minutes to defrost on the grill" Is he serious? PLEASE excuse ME, next time i'll ask NASA to figure out the dilemma of a frozen bun before arriving, since it takes rocket scientists to understand the logistics of a microwave and grill to un-thaw bread. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Fatburger (and this location specifically)!!!! This is the 'choice' restaurant/fast food in our house - if the teens or the hubby get their choice... Fatburger it is, and this mom doesn't mind either - as long as it's in moderation ;-). We had lunch here this afternoon and the dilemma with my teens is always what to order because EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD. Hawaiian Burger - delicious, Chili Cheese Fries - Yes please!, and you must try a shake... just maybe not all at once unless you are really, really hungry! I also wanted to comment on the service at this location in particular. I have been here about 10 times. It has been exceptional every single time. We are greeted, the manager has stopped by the table to check on things, the staff is happy and friendly and you can count on someone coming to clear your empty baskets as you finish your meal. Groupons come up for Fatburger every once in a while and I always take advantage but even at full price, it is reasonable for the quality of food and service received! I have no idea what happened to this place. I went there a couple of times before and always liked it. I decided to go there a couple days ago and experienced the worse service. My friends ordered burgers and told the lady which toppings they wanted. My friends burgers were both wrong and my burger had the nice taste of undercooked beef. We sent back our food and waited twenty minutes for the food to come back. One server came and asked us for our toppings to double check. When we got our burgers back, the toppings were all wrong again. When we went to talk to the same server that double checked our orders about it. She said we didn't say our toppings right, and that it was our problem. Oh an the manager was not there and the server was apparently in charge. Do not go to this location. The one in south common is good, this one is terrible. I would give it a lower rating if zero counted. read more

I will keep this short and sweet. I came in to use my Groupon and take the food away. I added shakes to both meals and the girl made them PERFECTLY. It is a weird thing of mine, but when you order whipped cream on a shake, frapp, whatever and they have those dome lids there is only one way to put the whipped cream on. Make the shake, put on the lid, and then squeeze the whipped cream through the hole on top and fill the dome with creamy goodness. Maximum whipped cream and no spillage. The burgers were great, but I was so giddy that my shakes were perfect that I didn't mind paying additional to the Groupon. read more

That being said, the cashiers need to be proactive about asking what toppings diners want on their sandwiches. I came close to ending up with some assortment of default toppings before interrupting the young woman on the till to add my desired toppings. Glad this one opened up since it is much closer to where I live than the one in City Centre. I've gone there quite a few times in the last two weeks and it feels like the quality of the burger is getting lower each time, though this may also because I've been going multiple times and I'm getting used to it.
