My friend arrived prior to my arrival so her and Dave created the drawing. My friend worked with Dave and he drew it up perfectly and what we requested. Small world actually because my bestie from SoFL is married to an old friend of Dave's so we knew the same people. Dave set everything up and my friend went first. It actually did not take long and I did not get anxious while I was awaiting my turn. Dave cleaned everything and set up everything for my tat so we went back into the lobby while he did so. This was my 10th tattoo so I knew what to expect but never had one done close to my ankle. My tat was a little different, where I chose the NY Rangers colors for Snoopy's beanie. There were times the tat hurt but definitely not the worst pain I have felt. Dave did an amazing job and I am definitely going back to him.

I sat down with a tech who told me she could do the checkered design (pictured) and was comfortable. She helped me pick the two colors and got started. During the filing process she made my cuticles bleed on three fingers. She did apologize, but the appointment only got more uncomfortable from there. When she pulled out the plastic tips to put on my nails for the set, she made a comment that my nails are too small and that she would have to trim down the tips. She then took small scissors and cut both sides of the plastic tip off and glued them onto my nails. There was no curve to them, they were very rectangular. She attempted the design twice before insisting it did not look good and told me that I needed to choose a new color. I told her I liked the design, she told me she felt it was not pronounced enough and insisted we use black. I told her that I didn't like black, it was just too dark for me but after her persistence I agreed to try it. She created the look with the black in place and then outlined in white. I thought it looked nice and was not upset at all about it afterward. When washing my hands at home after the visit I realized that all of the nails were very jumpy and had bubbles in them. My pinkie on my left hand was completely warped and basically flat because of the way she trimmed the tip. I had no time to go back and after that experience I truly didn't want to. I ended up going to another salon, which looked at my nails and before I could even tell them what happened, they told me that the nails I had needed total reforming and fixing before I could get a fill. When I told them what was done, they were in total shock. This could have been a fluke, maybe she was new or overwhelmed but I will not be returning.

The nails speak for themselves. 11/10!

This was their #2 pedicure. She did one clear, 2 color and then 2 clear!

If I could give this place 40 negative stars I would! I last went to this place about a year before the pandemic and left a review then about the staff at that time who was obviously racist. Today, I went back to get a dermal top for a piercing because I figured staff must have changed and things would be different. Boy was I wrong!! IT was even worse! I was with my service dog, who had her vest on (though not required by law) and immediately upon entering the shop I was told I had to leave with my dog. I immediately got out my cell phone and started recording. I am a U.S. Air Force veteran with a disability that my dog provides a service for. I tried to educate the man that told me that I had to leave, of the laws protecting me and other people with service dogs. During that interaction, another man with gauged out ears, came out and involved himself into the conversation, if you can call it that, and re-iterated that I had to leave. I told them about a prior confrontation about the same situation I had with my service dog at another local tattoo shop and what transpired, he then told me I was threatening him, though no one threatened him! And told me they refused to help me due to my "attitude". The video clearly shows I had no attitude and that they were not only clearly discriminating against me and my service dog but then proceeded to LIE that they had no dermal tops to sell me. He blatantly refused to help me because of my disability which is a crime! Eventually, the first gentleman, who identified himself as an Army veteran apologized and we were able to get past what happened, and he conceded that the dog is not allowed where they pierce flesh, etc. Which I already knew. I was never in the back where they do anything like that....I barely got in the front door when I was told to leave. It's disgusting and traumatizing to people with disabilities when a business decides to discriminate against us! And despite being told the laws, refuses to listen. The man with the gauged out ears asked me what type of service the dog provided, as he is allowed to ask, and I told him. He still was not satisfied with the answer and refused to help me. I know for a FACT they have dermal tops there and have proof of it! The outright refusal to help me because of my service dog is a crime and I am still thinking about pursuing legal action against them as I have the entire interaction on video. Read the negative reviews and heed the warnings of others and myself. You dont want to patronize a business that is racist, unpatriotic, rude, discriminatory and even after 2 years has not changed their business practices and has only gotten worse. I have been to other tattoo and piercing shops from S. Florida to Gainesville without any issue with my service dog except for this one and the other one which is also located in Ocala. Spend your money at a place that treats everyone equally! I pray that they lose business and eventually have to close their doors! read more

first day we went in we were told that at the time of appointment the artist would have a few sketches of the tatoo for us to view.. got there @ 12 and the artist did not even have the drawing done. we waited for 45 mins for him to draw the tatoo from a fake press on tatoo that we had given to the place 4 days prior to our appointment.. now not only did they not have the tatoo drawn out but finally 45 mins after waiting for him to draw it it looked like it was in cartoon character wich is not at all what the original tat looks like aaattt aaalll.. the feathers on the tat wer just ok nothing special but the skull was horrid.. the guy scott who was suppose to do the tat is young and looks like he has not been doing this long.. when we asked what happened to the detail of the skull he said he does not like to do his drawings exactly like another persons drawing and he adds his own style to it, huh? so i guess his style matches his age very childish cartoons.. this is to go on a 37 yr old man not an 18 yr old kid.. then when asked if he could get the skull teeth to look the same he said yes i can def get it to look the same, yet contradicting himself from previously when he said he doesnt copy peoples exact drawings.. this left us very unsure and the guy behind the desk wanted to know who gave us the appointment because apparently the tatoo artist scott was not made aware of his own appointment which is odd since they have an appointment book where he could have seen he had a 5 hour appointment.. very unprofessional and i will not even go back to get my 20 dollar deposit cuz i wont waste my time or patience .. in you want a real tatoo go around the corner to docs of rock where you will get exactly what you want and for cheaper than fat katz.. will never go to fat katz again and thank goodness we didnt get the tatoo done there and get a chop job done that would have been forever... read more

The staff was really nice, the service was clean and fast but not rushed. They made me feel comfortable had conversations and laughs. I got an industrial. I read other reviews and some of them weren't good but I didn't see any people who weren't supposed to be working there and there is another piercer and he is awesome. Make sure to make an appointment to avoid being turn away. Cheap prices too!! read more

Went in for a nipple peircing, got pierced immediately! The person who pierced me was above and beyond, listened to my concerns and helped reassure me. And the overall experience was great, we talked for like 20 minutes after and it was super chill. I would 100% recommend, and will be coming back :) read more

She understood immediately what I wanted. She actually taught me a little more about what shapes would look best on my face. She also waxed my lip and I barely felt anything. The next time I visit this city, I'm definitely going to call ahead and try to book a few more services. It's not easy for people in smallish cities like this to find good eyebrow artists. If you live here, you're lucky to have this place and you should give Julie a try.
