Honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had to force myself to not eat all of it so I wouldn't be overly full with a stomach ache. The wait was long but apparently they had two large parties while we were there. I'd go back time and time again if I lived over here. read more

Awesome place for a casual meal. When you walk in you're not sure if it's fast food or fine dining. But you quickly realize it's a mix and the best of both. The service is fine dining and the food tastes great but they are quick in getting you your meal. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the amazing deserts. Each and every one of the desserts looked great. Definitely the toughest dessert decision in quite some time. If you're on the 95 it's less than a half mile off the highway. This may be a regular stop for us going forward. read more

Are there a few times while visiting my parents. Great food and good service. Their hamburger steak with all the toppings was one of the best I've had. I wish the still served breakfast like they did in their old location, but still some damn fine food. read more

I'll start off with the salmon was cooked very well and full of flavor. The salad was a joke they used iceberg lettuce and the dressing was a bit slimy. The collards were charged as a premium side item which I thought was kinda funny because they were lacking southern feel. A can of old glory would have more southern roots than those collards... All and all the staff was very nice and like I said I enjoyed the salmon.. If they want to make it they will need to strengthen up there southern recipe. Decor seemed like a Applebee's and the food was cheap. Given the location I would rate it above average for this area but below average for any decent sized city. read more

We drove 45 minutes from home to try Fat Jack's for dinner after viewing the menu online. We weren't disappointed. The coleslaw was delicious. The NY strip steak was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The fried oysters were moist and tender. The fries were good and hot. It was my husband's birthday so he got a song and a dish of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and a candle. It's not a fancy place but was clean and the restrooms were clean. We both thought that the service (Donna was our waitress) and the food were excellent and plan to return and try some of the other items on the menu. read more

Chose to eat here on our way south due to the reviews. It was disappointing. Most of the staff was friendly but we got there at 735 pm and the brooms were out giving us that rushed feeling. Food was ok but pretty bland. I got the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were very chewy and unseasoned. Large portion size though. My daughter got the wings with mild sauce which was mild in heat and flavor. It was as though they cut franks with vegetable oil. My wife doesn't eat much but was told she couldn't order off of the kids menu. Probably won't stop there again. read more

Food is okay. Prices are way too high. If you like paying $9.99 for a basic cheese burger then this is the place. New location equals dramatic price increase! Wait staff was above average. read more

The server was prompt and friendly. Our food was delicious. My husband ordered the ultimate platter and although it was all fried, it was evident that the seafood was freshly breaded. read more

Love that Walterboro has this place, and super happy it's in a new location. Tried the fried seafood combo of shrimp and oysters. Shrimp were well done,.not heavily breaded, and the oysters were fat and juicy...but, sadly, their wet coating wasn't cooked all the way through. Because they were only half done, under the crunchy outside, you could taste and see the raw batter. Big disappointment because oysters are my favorite! The portions were huge...the 3 of us took home to go containers. There was NO dessert offered. I have never encountered that in a restaurant. The owner was there greeting guests, and the wait staff encouraged us to let him know our desire for a sweet ending. He seemed less than concerned, which was odd, and slightly off-putting. Will definitely be back, and hopefully for dessert...how else did "Jack" get "Fat"?!? read more

My husband ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger, and coleslaw. He said it was good, but only a little better than average. I ordered the chicken fingers with fried okra. My meal was well cooked, but I had to add a fair amount of salt to the okra to have any flavor. There was too much breading on the chicken, and it had no flavor, so even though it was perfectly fried and plenty crispy it still had little taste. From a food perspective, when I combine the two meals, it is only average. I will say the service was very friendly and top notch. read more

Awesome food! Got the surf and turf and the meat was cooked perfectly! Beautiful environment and I loved our waitress! We will be back again!! read more

The service was good and the food was okay at best, but I don't mind eating it again. My only problem with the menu is how bland the salad was. Now the veggies on my salad were fresh but you would normally get a plain salad with nothing to stand out on top that is why I requested Salmon to be on my salad to have that things that stood out which cost an extra $4 which I didn't mind. What I am saying is, if you are going to serve salad in a restaurant you should put one special thing to go along with it, the main star of the salad. Not just lettuce and a few onions, tomatoes, and cheese. Like Tuna or cooked Ham in the middle, etc. Unless its just a tiny side salad you can have as one of your sides. But that is juts a small nitpick that I have, everything else was just fine. read more

Awesome food. Had the rib eye steakp with BP. Delish!! I tried the sweet potato waffle fries....omg! Recommend to waitress cinnamon and sugar sprinkled over them would bring it to the top. Great service. read more

The menu was not as varied as I expected. Basic with concrete floor and not much atmosphere. It didn't leave a lasting impression. The food was good and our waitress was excellent. read more

I always eat at the bar. No liquor drinks on Sunday, only complaint. Catfish nuggets( on the menu as something else, can't remember) delicious! All good food from what I've ordered. Nice, friendly service. Gets packed on Sunday. read more

If you appreciate cleanliness, fresh food, likable service and a convenient location , come on in. I get excited about things like crispy fries, tasty hush puppies and cabbage casserole cooked like Mac and cheese. My husband thought the shrimp were real good. Enjoy the lunch specials. read more

What words to describe? Basic, generic, unimaginative, bland, dull. We stopped on a trip south and traffic was heavy so a place without a wait was appealing. The decor was dull but some nice nature photos. The menu was so very basic. A few burgers, a couple salads, wings and some expensive entrees. After ordering we discovered there was a lunch specials menu that we never got. We cancelled the first order put in a new one and got mixed results. My fried fish was very good but there were a lot of bones (over 10), the fries seem like basic frozen cut ones and the collards were good but could have been cut smaller, a bit unwieldy. My companions both got the "Jamaican chicken" which was a disappointing small piece of chicken breast with a square cheese single melted on it and some kind of relish or chow-chow on top. Not sure what was Jamaican about that but it was very unsatisfactory. The sides were bland too: potato salad was flavorless and my teen described the Mac & cheese as "meh" and only ate two bites. The server was nice and it was clean. Other than that I have nothing to recommend it. read more

I'm not a burger person, and I LOVED their mushroom Swiss burger! It was cooked to perfection. My husband liked the turkey club. Our waitress was very nice and on top of things. Will definitely eat here again! read more

Great place for a good meal and cold beverage. Staff is prompt and friendly meals are always consistently good. Wings are always good.

Stopped on road. The Walmart view is less than impressive and the place could use a bit more decor but we had an amazing ribeye (I mean really amazing), crab cakes and two drinks for $50. Not bad and the service was stellar. Must stop here! read more

If you need brake pads then order the hamburger steak I also had the cheese stick with tomato sauce and they where cold as ice. I had a glass of ice tea and I want lemon and the waiter send that was $1.00. read more

Stopped for dinner while traveling... great service (Shenequa F was server) very attentive... polite... food was outstanding!

I travel all over the world. It is rare that I find good food by accident. I was starving so I pulled off the road and found This place by luck. It was. Awesome. The owner is there and gave us advice about what to order. The steaks and the ribs were awesome. The chicken wings were also great. I leave very happy and very full! read more

OMG this place is amazing. Great service and the food is out of this world. Will go again and try something different on the menu. Kudos to all the employees. read more

Honestly I think the good reviews are from staff. Fat Jacks is way overpriced, even before the move, for average food. Nothing stands out. The salad is ridiculous. read more

Our waitress DD was absolutely amazing!! She made our experience wonderful, went above and beyond! If you ever eat here be certain to ask for DD!!!! read more

Stopped by on a business trip for lunch. Staff was super friendly and very attentive. I had the Cold Plate which consisted of crab salad, chicken salad and potato salad. Excellent! More than enough food. My husband had the lunch special hamburger steak, garlic mashed potatoes and red rice. He praised everything. I sampled the potatoes and they were they best I ever had. Definitely worth trying. read more

Never a bad meal. Service is friendly and staff is awesome. Place is always clean. It use to be tucked out of the way and a "local favorite ". It still is a local fave, but now we share it with others passing through. So if you're driving through on I95- you'll be happy you took the exit ramp to Fat Jacks! read more

Arrived at 6:45 on a Sunday. Dinner was not brought to my table until almost 8:00 p.m. Others came and left before I got my food. The server told me it was because the others ordered steak. No managers addressed my concerns, just charged me full price for my meal. NOT HAPPY. read more

Delicious burgers and very accommodating. Swapped my beef patty for a turkey burger. Super friendly staff. Clean bathrooms.

Found another great pet friendly restaurant! Took a late lunch stop & sure glad we found this place (with YELP's help)! Everything is great here! Sounds trite, but it's true. Even eating indoors you feel like you're outside because of all the large windows. The wrap around patio is covered by a red awning & is pet friendly. The staff, especially Destiny, is very friendly & attentive. Menu looks like the "same-ol-same-o", but it's definitely not. There's extra "love & care" put into it! read more

Traveling to Savannah, was looking for a quick lunch. Decided to try this place. Friendly, attentive wait staff. Food was great. I got one of the lunch specials. Hope to be back soon. read more

Convenient, polite. Very good service. American food and basically what one would expect from a clean, local restaurant. Hamburgers are made to order. Passing through. Good food. Still eat here again. Might be a bit pricey compared to chain restaurants. read more

Excellent food. $7.99 lunch specials. Fried Chicken and wings are very good. Nice clean place. Fast service. Right off I95.

Great food........great service.........great location! My husband and I stopped in for lunch and were in a bit of a hurry. The food came out quick, but was still cooked and seasoned to perfection! The staff was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area. read more

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the beach. The place looked very new and was very clean. The staff was friendly, but the food was just OK. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, buffalo style. It was fine, but I'm pretty sure the grilled chicken was seasoned with lemon pepper before it was topped with buffalo sauce. Of course, the buffalo sauce didn't have much flavor or heat, so I guess the chicken needed some sort of flavor. I'm just not sure I would mix those two. The sweet potato waffle fries were good and very crispy; whereas, most sweet potato fries are pretty soggy. They were the highlight of the stop. My husband had the hamburger steak. It was a generous portion (huge for lunch), but I had a bite, and it had no real flavor. read more

My husband & I eat lunch here a lot. I really like the lunch menu; great veggies and excellent value. BUT.....I will NEVER again pay $7 for a (small--or any size) slice of pie. The dessert menu does not have the prices. I was shocked especially since the lunch meal was only $8.50+tax. Won't do that again. But will continue to come back! read more

I went to Fat Jack's tonight (10-3-2018) having read the very good reviews on Yelp. I ordered the NY Strip steak, side salad, and baked potato. My steak, which was supposed to be medium, was well-done, nonetheless, it was simply the worst NY strip steak I have ever eaten. It was tough, had no flavor, and was not anywhere near 12 oz. in side-might have been 6 oz at best. The baked potato needed to be cooked for at least another half-hour or so. It was hard. Finally, the salad was quite good, but a good salad does not make up for a lousy meal. I would urge diners to go elsewhere in the Walterboro area. read more
