Well that's a good start! Let's see!
La'Krista D.

Greeter/Host was very kind and friendly. The waitress seemed she couldn't care less but wasn't rude just not personable. The food was mediocre. We had chicken hibachi, shrimp jammers, Southwestern egg rolls (great consistency and portion size however the ranch was bland and salty and the contents of the egg rolls weren't seasoned) and had salted caramel crunch cake. The cake was very dense and didn't not give salted caramel. The shrimp jammers were cooked too hard and all of the sauces were salty (should've been cooked 30-45 seconds less and paired and sweet and spicy Asian sauce. The hibachi was salty (the teriyaki was very salty). I did not have anything that makes me want to return. Very spacious and had indoor and outdoor seating. Booth seating and table seating. The foyer floor was not swept. The restaurant however did have an A on the door.

Fried shrimp and baked potato

We have been here several times over the years. Always have great service. Staff are polite and quick to get what you request. I have had the chicken Alfredo in the past and was not impressed. I had the grilled chicken breast with a side salad and sweet potato tonight and loved it! My husband had the fried shrimp with baked potato and side salad, which he really enjoyed. We will continue to come back.

Mushroom and Swiss burger well done perfectly made and seasoned!! to the chef!

The food was really good and so was the service! I got the mushroom and Swiss burger well done which came out absolutely perfect and well seasoned with fresh crunchy French fries and my friend got the salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans which she gave a 10/10 we got there after 9 and they close at 10 and they were very accommodating and didn't rush us out! The restaurant was well lit like i like it not overly bright but not too dim either with a beautiful koi pond out front! Definitely recommend if traveling i95 or in the area!

Excess grease from the fried okra

This is one is few decent non-chain and fast food restaurants in Walterboro. It can be hit or miss, especially, depending on what you order. The most recent visit I ordered the smoky chicken lunch special. That was the smaller chicken breast I've seen before. The menu describes it as a grilled chicken breast topped with smoky barbecue sauce, cheese, & bacon. Look at the picture I've posted of the slice of American cheese not fully melted topped with bacon bits. SMH. No bueno. It was not what I was expecting and it was overcooked. I would not order it again. The fried okra and the green beans could've used a little extra seasoning. The fried okra had so much grease in it I had indigestion for 2 days! My husband said the chopped steak is good. I may have to try that next time. I did mention they're one of few non-chain and fast food restaurants, right? There aren't many options in this small town to choose from. We came at the tail end of a typical lunch hour and arrived ~1:30 pm. It was not crowded, yet service was slow to be greeted, receive water refills, & the check. The ambience is casual. They have a small bar. The restrooms have been clean when I've visited. The staff are generally friendly. If you visit, I hope you have a hit experience, and not a miss.

Turkey burger. I added Swiss cheese. Juicy! The pretzel bun was an added plus.

A better option than fast food along I- 95. Convenient to get to and have both inside and outside seating (dog friendly). Usual Diner menu options with a daily plate special. Turkey burger was a nice option. Fries were fresh and crispy. Will keep it on our stop list for future road trips. Friendly staff. Gas and shopping nearby as well.

Recently did lunch with 2 other couples was told they have a great lunch special, for the price it was a very good special. The teriyaki chicken , red rice and fried okra were excellent and my wife's fish, baked potato, fried okra and cornbread was definitely a lot for a lunch special. Service was great and the atmosphere is always lively. All in all I would go back during the lunch hour.

We were looking for a local place for a bite on our road trip north. This is a sit down restaurant. They are known for their chicken. We got the fried pickle chips (excellent). We had the chicken salad sandwich and the chicken sandwich. Both were very tasty. It was pretty busy and the staff was really friendly but the service was a bit slow. You are not getting a quick bite here. It was nice not to eat at a chain restaurant.

Sautéed flounder, hush puppies, green beans

Great local find in Walterboro & with an extensive menu and full bar! They have a terrific selection of seafood consisting of scallops, shrimp, flounder that can be fried or broiled. We opted for broiled scallops and an order of broiled flounder - both seasoned to perfection ( flavorful but not salty). Salads, slaw sweet potato fries & salad and green beans were on point! Our server Cara was sweet and informative! She delivered prompt precise service with a smile. We were among the last customers on a Wednesday night however they didn't rush us and made us feel welcomed. The internet said open till 10 pm the other said 9:30... technically it was 9pm. The server explained occasionally the times may change, we were glad we arrived prior to closing and enjoyed our meal immensely.

On our drive back to Florida after a grea visit with the folks we always like to find some thing different and local to stop at for lunch. Came across this place and it was well reviewed and liked so here we are! Place was very busy so you know it has to be good. We started to wait for a table but that was looking like a bit of a wait so we grabbed an open high top in the bar. Lots of home style items on the menu. Hard to choose. Best deal was the meat and two. For me it was the Teriyaki chicken with broccoli casserole and rice and gravy. Tender chicken and very good gravy and sides. Best hush puppies!! Deb got the Pot roast and gravy. Delicious. Awesome flavors. Green beans and mashed potatoes. All good! Solid spot for food with great southern hospitality and really good home cooking!

Delicious!!! Really enjoyed the sauce and the food was great.. definately getting our moneys worth in the portion size.. service was very nice and they even gave the kids food to feed the koi fish which made their night!! This was a great little break on our drive to Florida.. very spacious and not very noisy so you could have family conversations.. clean place with great food!

Chicken Tender starter

Our waitress was Ms. Shaniqua and the service was excellent. I didn't have to ask for anything. She anticipated my needs and was extremely polite. It being earlier in the afternoon, maybe about 3 the ambience was relaxed with not too many people. Beautiful artwork on the walls. The chicken tenders were well seasoned and tasted amazing. The loaded fries were excellent as well. The red rice tasted amazing. The ribs were so good and I took half a rack home. All in all an amazing experience.

Black and blue burger
Tim A.

Just OK. I was seated right away. Nice laminated drink menus but dirty paper food menus. Kind of told me where the bulk of business comes from. The menu doesn't say if the burgers come with a side so I had to ask. They do. I ordered the black and blue burger. Seasoned burger, bacon and blue cheese with the usual toppings. It came out really fast. The bacon was fine and the veggies were fresh. There was hardly enough blue cheese to cover the bacon. The burger looked like one of the frozen burgers that came out of a box. Good thing they put Cajun seasoning on it because that was the only flavor I could taste in the burger. My server refilled my drink when she dropped my food and didn'tcome back until I was finished eating. I hoped for something more.

Shrimp and grits
Cory W.

WOW! From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left, I was impressed. The staff is very friendly, specifically my server Taylor. VERY respectful and pleasant. I got the Shrimp and grits, and it was amazing. The restaurant is very clean, with great music and a pleasant ambiance that is well-lit and airy. I was provided a to-go cup for my tea with my check. If I'm ever back in Walterboro I will eat here again!

The food is basic, the drinks are ok. The servers are very nice, but due to us not speaking Spanish and their limited English( which is still a heck of lot more than our Spanish) we frequently have communication issues. Overall if you want some basic margaritas and tacos, check it out. If you want something spectacular try someplace else.

They start you out with warm chips and spicy salsa. THEN the most delicious frozen margarita which was likely enhanced with triple sec or another orange liqueur. "Are you sure this is the house margarita?" I asked. Yep. My Pollo Ranchero was pounded thin, grilled and topped with onions, mushrooms and a light cheese sauce. Even the refried beans are a notch above. T ordered something called El Combo. I don't know what's in it, but suffice it to say it was served on two plates. A lot of food, which T ate and enjoyed. The restaurant appears dated to the point of being atmospheric. I felt like I was in Old Tijuana. They have a policy which management should definitely change: their payment system. You don't receive a check. The cashier simply tells you what you owe. As that doesn't fly with me I asked for a breakdown. And good thing! An honest mistake, but he over-priced my chicken. Don't be turned off by what looks like a tired strip mall. Park the car and go into the restaurant. Your meal will be worth it.

Only about eight tables inside and they also have grocery items, including fruit and vegetables, candies, and baked goods. At first, we were gonna get get our items to go, but when we realized it would probably be hard to eat in the car so we stayed and had a wonderful meal. Did you really want to hear about the food: Salsa - fresh, mild kick, I would consider it more on that chunky side than the smooth side. Salsa - very thin, some more on the smooth side, but very tasty. Cucumber Pinapple Drink - refreshing, with a hint of the pineapple sweetness. Really delicious, and served in a small picture which threw me at first, but then I realized everybody else had them, and they were drinking through a straw. Problem solved. Tamarind Drink - not quite as refreshing as the cucumber, but the drink was good with that hint of tamarin flavor.. Burritto - serve with your choice of meat, it was enough to feed two people, two very large people. It also comes with fresh, cucumber and radishes, which was a really nice touch. We got ours with chicken and peach with our choice.. We decided to get a couple of the baked goods to go, so maybe I'll update my review after we give those a try in the morning. Great little fine. I think you'll enjoy it.

The employee who brought us our coffees was pleasant, friendly, and efficient. I love blueberry pancakes, and I knew as soon as I looked at their menu what I was ordering. The Pancake Breakfast comes with your choice of pancakes (blueberries always of course), 2 eggs, and choice of meat (bacon for me, tyvm). Cracker Barrels line their walls with such interesting pictures and it was really nice just sitting, relaxing, and scanning the walls while waiting for my pancakes. The pancakes were very good with the exception that they might have been cooked a tad longer to create more of a golden brown color, however the inside was done so no harm done. Before I knew it, my plate was cleaned, my coffee cup empty, and it was time to get back on the bike. A good meal, pleasant service, and a relaxing stop is what you'll find here. Be sure to check them out.

There were plenty of empty tables in the dining room, but the store area was packed with people waiting. We were told the wait would be 15 minutes. It ended up being 45. At that point I was actively trying to convince my wife to leave and go somewhere else. When our name was finally called and we were being seated, someone came out of the bathroom, elbowed past us, and went straight into the kitchen. The smell of marijuana was so strong it was impossible to ignore. Once seated, our server was actually quite good. She took our order quickly and was friendly and attentive when she did stop by. Unfortunately, it still took another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. When it did, several items were missing and had to be requested later when she returned. The food itself tasted great, as Cracker Barrel usually does. That said, the service flow was a mess. Our server only checked on us twice, and I eventually had to flag down someone else just to get the bill. Overall, this experience was frustrating from start to finish, and we will not be coming back to this Cracker Barrel.
