A few days prior to dinner, I called KW Cafe to make reservations. They don't take reservations. However, I spoke with Joe (one of the managers). He was kind to put us at the top of the waitlist for that evening. Thank you Joe! Huge parking lot. Good interior space with 3 areas of seating... open eating area, covered and enclosed patio area, and few private rooms. On the day of our dinner, we were seated shortly after arrival. Very grateful for that. They get super busy all the time. Wait time could possibly be a good while. We got lucky that night. Staff was amazingly patient, attentive, and hardworking. We had two tables. They took our order quickly. The food for my table came out timely, but the food for the other table took a bit more time. Not sure what they all ordered, but perhaps certain dishes just take more time. I ordered the Mixed Seafood with Tofu that came with a bowl of white rice. Tons of fried tofu, but seafood was a bit skimpy. Love the black mushrooms. Flavor was on point. Portion could have been better. I probably won't get this dish again. I also tried the dishes that my Mom and cousin got. Shrimp and Eggs was fluffy with lots of big tasty sweet shrimps. Delish! Seafood Chow Fun was super yummy and scrumptious... it had very good wok flavor and seafood was plentiful. Highly recommend these two dishes. I didn't get to try any of my daughters's dishes. They chowed down the Seafood Chow Mein and Sweet & Sour Pork all on their own which is a good thing. KW Cafe is definitely a great choice for lunch and dinner. I strongly suggest that your restaurant have someone experienced in managing seating arrangements and handling large crowds. I understand that today is a busy day, but this is a restaurant that has been operating for many years. We ordered the house special seafood soup, Clam with Basil Sauce, Sautéed Pea Sprout, and Kung Pao Chicken. With the set meal prices, each dish is less than $14. My wife likes the Peking Style Pork Chop so we got that too separately. Most restaurant charges $2-2.50 for a bowl of rice. This restaurant only charges $1 per person and gives you a giant pot of rice so you can have second or third if you are hungry. Traditional Cantonese restaurants usually have crappy service but the staffs here are very nice. They frequently change your plates and the food is served quickly. The restaurant is pretty clean. The best of all, the food quality is very good with good value. We like their Kung Pao chicken because the chicken is fried before stir fried and they made sure to use dark meat. I usually don't eat Pea Sprouts but this version is tender and garlicky. The Basil Clam meat is fat and each clam has sauce coating it. They are not cheap with the quantity of clams either. The dish is filled to the max. If you are looking for a traditional Cantonese food, this is the place. It is both affordable and tasty. Give them a shot.
