There are outdoor seats as well and they were partially covered by trees, which was important because there was a summer thunderstorm when I visited. In theory, they have an online ordering platform, but what they said to others when I got there was that they shut down online ordering when in-person business gets busy, and it's not a huge operation so this probably happens on the regular. All of this is fine by me, but important to know. They offer a menu of house specials with vaguely Dungeons and Dragons themed names. The Vampire Slayer that I ended up with (named for its ample roasted garlic) surprised me, in the sense that I didn't read the menu closely enough to realize that this was a vegan pizza, so basically a tomato pie without cheese. This actually worked out reasonably well for me even though it wasn't what I intended. The tomato and garlic flavors were vigorous, the crust browned nicely, and I had other things to fill me up. Outside of pizza, they had beverages and one or two appetizers and desserts that are subject to availability. The question to me is whether the quality was worth stopping here for as compared to the bigger food selection in urban areas across the bridge, to which the answer for me was yes.

Great crunch and interesting combinations. I decided to go with the Gandalf when the sage, ricotta, and garlic caught my attention and had me wonder how that'd play together. The sage was a little off-putting but once I added some crushed red pepper, everything came together. Even if there was some caramelized onions and mushrooms along with it elevated it as well. Can you really have too many toppings on a pizza? NOOOO course not. Definitely a spot that locals frequent but they welcomed us with open arms. It was good chatting with some of the employees and the owner's dad who came in to grab his pizza as well.

It's not very big (I counted only 11 tables), but definitely very cozy. The menu was fairly similar to some other places in the area (fish tacos are always temping, lol), but I managed to find something different. Service was a little slow, as we were part of a big rush and there were only 4 employees (2 servers, 2 kitchen). But it was worth the wait. My wife had the French toast from the Sunday brunch menu, while I had the chicken banh mi wrap. Both were very good. Since it's right around the corner from our church, we will definitely come back again.

My wife started with a Cosmo, her favorite cocktail, and said it was excellent. We shared the strawberry salad lunch special and the Popeye burger with fries. The fries were an unusual and cool wide spiral cut, and some of the best we'd ever had. The burger was wagyu beef with Boursin and spinach. The salad had a nice touch of candied walnuts. We got dessert. The flourless lava cake and the key lime pie. Both were amazing and took us to the threshold of diabetes. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area! It's absolutely wonderful.

We split the crab chowder, which was very tasty! And then I had a fried haddock sandwich with a side caesar salad. I really liked my sandwich. It was perfectly battered and fried. My husband had the crab cake sandwich and a side of the scratch corn. The crabcake was good, but the scratch corn was too greasy for our taste. Overall, the food was really good, and the water view is really nice. Great place for a meal! Side note: their cakes looked incredible, but we didn't try them this time. I would definitely consider going back for a slice of cake.

They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.
