They really stay on top of the quality of what is on their displays. I've experienced other chain stores having rotting vegetables as a standard. They leave things out beyond sale quality. I've never experienced this at Nob Hill. While some of their prices might be a little higher, you get what you pay for when shopping. They do have an awesome app that gives Monday $5 deals and there are always other sale coupons weekly. You can order your groceries online and have them delivered or the store will shop for you and you can go curbside and they will bring them to your car. I really like the professionalism and the consistency of this market. It's definately a five star market.

The credit card reader then wouldn't take my transaction, giving the same problem as the self checkout, so I paid cash. As I mentioned the computer difficulties and frustration to the clerk, the cashier at the neighboring checkstand, a middle-aged balding guy, suddenly got some kind of attitude. He spoke to me in a very condescending manner. His carefully selected words were so faux respectful, but his tone of condescent implied he wanted me out immediately. Definitely not the same operation Michael ran at Hale & Main.

Like common simple mistake, and we are regular clients. He needs anger management classes and learn how to talk to costumers, or someone will teach him respect the hard way. You don't talk to costumers like that, specially woman. Would you like someone talking to your mother like that???? cursing ??? And I believe you went off because we are Mexicans. So rude of you.. I wonder if we were white you would of talk to us like that. Mi gente latina por favor ya no le compren a esta liquor. Si así nos tratan, no es justo que les demos negocio. Muy mal!! ( Edit) I've seen your response, and I wasn't the only person at the store that day. I had 3 coworkers, and one of them had her two daughters. When you said excuse me or hi. I didn't heard you. And you know what you said and how you approached me. And you did cursed and went off. I don't need to lie. I'm a paying costumer and we weren't there to buy one thing. I should of left but we end up buying almost $50 worth or things. Learn to talk and how to talk to costumers. Next time be nice and maybe what happened shouldn't happen again. I don't need to lie about this you know what you did and how you approached my friend, the gentlemen and me. Because you had a bad day and you have no work ethic and how to be thankful for every costumers that come to your store.

Drink two bottles of wine and get your steps in!…read more If you've never done a wine walk, wineries set up tables in shops and restaurants in a downtown area. Often they are stuck in the back so that you have to walk by the merch, but sometimes they are out front. They're usually manned by a pair of owners, managers, or growers. In the case of L&M Wineries, for example, we were served by both L and M. They're almost always patient and gracious, giving me a courtesy smile when I say it "tastes like grapes". Often you get just one pour, but you might get two if they have two different wines or you're charming. I have the charm of a bee in the car, but I get mine by wearing a cowboy hat and pretending I'm not a b-hole. Besides supplying a map, the downtown association ties balloons to the door to make them easy to find when your vision starts to blur. Then, people who paid $60 or so for wristbands and promotional glasses enjoy their easter egg hunt, getting 2-3 hours to drink and turn their teeth purple. After 7 years of Wine Walks in Los Gatos, Campbell, Willow Glen, and Mountain View, this was the first wine walk that used tickets. This meant you must submit a ticket at each of the twenty spots. They likely do this to curb people from getting "seconds", but even though I've never tried to get seconds at the other places, this restriction triggered me to do so. (My wife heard this and told me I'm not allowed to put my socks in the laundry basket). Anyway, next time I go, I am bringing pre-made index card fragments that read "Ha Ha Wines" or "Sucker! Winery" I had two pours of Fortino Winery at Maison A, and 1-2 pours of Martin Ranch at Sinaloa Cafe where a band Encore played a Tom Petty song. Had 1-2 pours of Guglielmo wines at Cigarland, 2 pours of Miramar at Noah's Bar, and 1-2 pours of Kirigin at Avery's Avenue. I may have gotten another pour from Sinaloa (by being nice) and allegedly from Maison (purportedly by using the ticket book cover), but I can't be certain. We got 1-2 pours of Aimee June wines at Betty's Bistro, 1-2 pours of Wildeye at Portraits by Rebecca, where the lines starting getting about 8 deep. Saw a dog parade (a highlight, as MHDA has many dog events). We got Verde at Bubbles and Brew, and L&M Wines at Studio 38. We got Moose Mountain at Craft Roots, Hecker Pass at Trail Dust, Solis at Urbn Ranch, Sarah's at Dezign Salon, Little Uvas from Rosy's at the Beach, Clos La Chance at Sushi Confidential, and Giorgio's for Lightpost Winery. We got a pour of Emmalily at Jewel Box where my wife got her ring cleaned (I didn't have cash for tips- next time I'll also make index cards that read "one money").

This isn't occasional, it happens daily. Employees are the constantly, even every hour, waiting for the machine to be refilled and then immediately buying the cycle out. I've seen the same pattern at the Tennant Safeway, where the same group goes between stores and wipe out both machines. What makes it even worse is that this happens even when other customers are standing there with their children waiting. Instead of giving everyone a fair chance, employees take everything as soon as it's available. It feels incredibly unfair and unprofessional. Whether management is aware or not, this reflects really poorly on the store. There should be a clear policies preventing employees from taking advantage of restocks like this. At this point, there is no reason to even bother checking these machines, they are always empty or the employees are hanging out waiting for the restock. It's a really disappointing experience for the kids/collectors, who then have to go pay scalper prices for these items.
