My fiancée and I needed to move all our furniture and most of our belongings in one fell swoop, and what might have been several days' work got finished in lighting speed with Max and Jeremiah on the job! We hired Fast Masters Moving for a move from San Francisco to Oakland. Our SF house was two-story, but both houses are 2/2s. I worked with Komera, one of the appointment schedulers to get a quote for our move. She was great right from the start and helpful throughout the process. I requested a video walkthrough of our space - a definite plus for getting an accurate assessment. I also asked for a not-to-exceed-price because I wanted to know the worst case scenario. She was happy to oblige unlike some other companies who only offer it for out of state or larger moves. We booked Fast Masters several weeks in advance of our estimated move date, because closing on a house doesn't always go to plan. Case in point, 3 days before the scheduled move date, our closing was potentially going to be delayed, meaning we would be unable to move in on the date planned. I contacted Komera in a panic, and she kindly went to work trying to secure a new move date for us. We got really lucky, and she could have moved some things around to get us another date, but in the end, we were able to keep our original move date. She was a professional, helpful, and friendly to boot. On the day of our move, we had two trucks and five movers. Jeremiah (who it turns out is a partner in the business - he worked as hard as anyone while directing the crew as needed), Danny, Dan, Gilbert, and Johnny (who was working on our move even though it was his birthday, and he never groused once) were our crew. They had a bit of trouble the morning of our move when they discovered their truck had been vandalized the night before. While it made them a little late to the start of the move, they were able to get a truck (one without a poorly drawn phallus on it) and made it only about 30 minutes outside our window. Once they arrived, we all walked around the house together to confirm what they were taking and what should be left behind. After that, they sprung into action and all our things began to rapidly disappear into their trucks. The guys were obviously used to working together as you could tell the teamwork was effortless. They barely said a word to each other, yet managed to help each other get their tasks done every time help was needed. Additionally, several of the guys had a specialty. One guy was the driver, one disassembled and reassembled our furniture, another guy wrapped up the big items. They worked in concert, and it went really quickly. They arrived at 10:30 and by 1:30PM, we were on the road to Oakland. We picked up lunch for the crew when they arrived at the new house, but they all ate sparingly and quickly, then got right back to work. They spent 7 hours total on our move. There were NO damaged items (including two big screen TVs) and they treated all of our belongings with great care. I will say that if you want to have a quick and efficient move, you have to have your house ready. We had everything we wanted moved already in boxes, labeled for the room they would go to in the new house, most boxes lined up in the garage for easy loading. We also ensured that everything that might get in the way was moved out of the way like plants and pets. You have to help your movers help you. Also, hire Fast Masters movers. They came in under their estimate and well below my not to exceed price. Would definitely hire them again! read more

This consignment store took me by surprise. I was looking for yoga tops and came away with all sorts of clothing treasures. I do wish they had all athletic wear in one section. It was sprinkled throughout the store. They have two dressing rooms. I liked that they had an area for people to sit outside the dressing rooms, so you could do a proper showing off of things you're trying on if you are shopping with a friend. read more

Jimmy and Gabriel managed to filled a 26 ft truck with furniture and a lot of boxes of varying sizes then delivered all of it to my storage unit and was able to fit it all in the unit. I am very disappointed with our experience. We are a family of educators and we prioritize spending our dollars supporting brown and black business in the Bay. We recently moved an apartment from one location in Oakland to another location in Oakland (appx 3 miles apart). The movers arrived late. The moving team included 2 teenagers (junior and senior in HS) and 1 adult. The teenagers worked as well as they could but they under the supervision of an ineffective adult supervisor. This move took approx 15 hours! It took so long that they had to come back the next day to finish. I took off a day of work to complete this and had to rearrange my next day to accommodate them. This was startling because again, we only moved a 2 bedroom apartment with a Peloton Bike; only 1 bedroom was furnished. Despite them being late AND taking an extremely long amount of time to move... we continued to be nice, offer water and even help move. Yes, my family helped move items into the truck from the first location and we also moved items into the storage locker as well as into the new apartment. With all of that, you can imagine how upset I was when I saw that so many of my things were damaged. My dresser has a hole in the top of it. My second dresser is leaning because of a broken leg. I had a pair of office bookcases. One of them is completely broken and now neither can be used. I really was shocked when the actual bill came back more than double of what they quoted. Their response was that this was due to us having a flight of stairs that we told them about in our preliminary conversation. We also let them know that we needed to add a stop to storage and that it closed at 10p. We were aware of that charge. However, no communication occurred during the time of the move- informing us of the drastic change in amount. I was transparent with the closeout of the move by telling the movers that I was disappointed with the amount of time taken to move AND about the treatment of our furniture. Their response was to call Jeremiah and gave me his phone #. I first called and texted Julia because she was our first point of contact. When she didn't respond, I called and spoke to Jeremiah and he assured me that if I paid in total the amount... that he would speak to someone the following business day to discuss how they can financially fix the problems incurred by their movers. At the end of the call, he reassured me again that if I paid in total, that he would be able to refund back to me the amount owed on my credit card. I accepted his verbal commitment... esp since there were so many positive reviews about the company on Yelp. When Jeremiah did call, I was in a work meeting. I called back and left a message. No response. I texted saying that I needed a response soon and that I was holding him to his verbal agreement. Ultimately, in a text, he said that he spoke to the drivers and wouldn't be refunding anything. His response included a false statement that our dressers were broken prior and that the adult mover notified us. This was not the truth and that did not occur. In fact, the entire sets were less than a year old. He also said that the stairs were a cause of the length of time to move. Again, we added this detail in our original consultation. I am beyond disappointed in our experience with this company- both the move, the final cost and the lack of customer service. As of today, I still have not received a satisfactory call or financial refund. In this moment, based on my experience, my opinion of Jeremiah and this organization, is that they are dishonest and lack ethics. Jeremiah also lacked the ability to respond professionally and ethically in a business interaction; nor in a timely manner. He was completely ok with representing his company by being dishonest and saying that he would provide a financial refund for the experience and for our furniture being damaged. His last mover even apologized for the damage done and said that they would take care of it. He recommended that I take pics. I'm glad that I did. As a result, this was not a fair process for my family. I will continue to push this matter in a legal way, so that others (particularly women) do not walk away feeling unheard, manipulated and helpless. No company should be able to treat their clients in this manner. Update: None of this company's response is accurate and it's actually highly insulting with these amount of untruths said. There was 1 flight of stairs and there was not limited use of an elevator. We moved into a brand new building with full supports for moving. The last text that I have from them says that they will not refund us. And that was it. The pic is below. We are handling this legally. I do not want anyone else to experience this. read more

My wife and I had never hired movers before so we didn't know exactly what to expect. We moved within Santa Rosa, 4 bedroom, 6 person household. We had James, Anthony, and Jose for our movers for the day. They managed to fit all our furniture, appliances, and 40 some boxes in their 26ft truck and complete the entire move in one day. I was a little confused at first when they showed up and instead of getting right to moving they started to re-arrange all our furniture and then begin wrapping and taping it. After observing them a little longer I began to understand they were very competent at what they were doing and handled everything with great care and speed. In addition to all my sturdier furniture they moved my 55" plasma and 65" LED with great care and attention to detail. They even had multiple tools at hand to disassemble and then re-assemble furniture. James made sure to bring levity to the situation while seeing to it that all our needs were met. Anthony and Jose worked together well to make sure all our belongings made it to our new home in the same condition they left our old home. I absolutely recommend Crossing the Jordan for your moving needs. Not only did they do an outstanding job, they came in lower than all the other estimates I had received. Very pleased with their service! We liked it so much that we contacted their junk hauling service and had Bishop & Dan take care of the left over things we needed to get rid of. It was a local move (about a half hour away) and I was impressed with the care they took to ensure things would not be damaged during transit. Their pricing was competitive, and their estimate was spot-on -- they had estimated five total hours, and that's exactly what it took. This last point is important, because sometimes movers will "low-ball" an estimate to get the job, then hit you with all sorts of add-ons when it comes time to total things up. They called to let me know they would be 30 minutes late in anticipation of traffic, but ended up arriving on time. My furniture was very heavy and knowing that it was very valuable, they took extreme care of everything! Everything was brought to my new apt in perfect condition. Fast Masters moved us out of our 2 story home in Santa Rosa, stored our belongings for 2 months for a very reasonable price, then moved us in to our new home in rural Washington. The guys HUSTLED through the process, they worked incredibly hard - there was absolutely NO damage to our belongings or to either home structure, and no loss. They work 7 days a week - our move in in Washington state was on a Sunday evening! Everything was delivered and placed in the home as promised, we even slept in our own bed that night! Wow! What an experience!! First their response was very quick for a quote. I got about 10 quotes and they were on top of it. They quickly emailed me a response THEN followed up to make sure I got it. Christina was super nice on the phone and they were reasonable. I actually had lined up another company, but they were not great at responding and after talking to Christina, I knew I wanted to switch to Fast Movers. She explained that they had a name change and they use to be Crossing the Jordon. Well, those people helped us out so much in 2017 when our house burned down, that I also thought it would be nice to repay them in some way, so that also helped out my decision to go with them. I was moving from Petaluma to Martinez. I had a TON of boxes and some old pieces of furniture, vintage, we can say, that I actually had gotten from Crossing the Jordan. Anyways, I digress.. they were more sentimental pieces than expensive, but they handled everything with great care. Michael and "Fiji" , were amazing and so careful as well as being super nice. So much so that when we got to Martinez, they helped me bring up a refrigerator from downstairs that was already here. I would use them again in an instant!! Definitely look into them!!! read more

I hired Fast Movers Moving to help me with my move in early September. Everything in the process went pretty smoothly. I initiated the request for a quote on Yelp and was happy to have a follow-up call to get a more accurate quote. Christina was responsible for the quoting portion and was very nice in all my interactions with her. I was very pleased that the company is transparent with all the costs, and recommended me to hire 3 professionals instead of 2 to make the moving more productive and efficient. On the day of the move, the crew arrived on time, explained to us any details of the service agreement, and after that, they started loading the truck. Marty, Kobbie, and Jeremiah were a pleasure to work with. It's hard work to move stuff, and they had a positive attitude 100% of the time. I was impressed with their experience handling and moving my things, my back problems (scoliosis) would never allow me to execute this type of work. We arrived at my new address pretty much at the same time, and I was happy with that, considering that it was about a 50-mile-drive from my previous location. Moving my things to the new apt also went well. I didn't have any problems at all with Fast Movers Moving, and they were indeed fast with it.
