We took our laundry to Fast Iron Cleaners for the Laundry Wash & Fold Service. We were blown away with the magnificent presentation of our clean laundry which had been washed and so carefully folded and packaged, ready for us to pick up. We were flying home to Australia the next day so we just poped our laundry straight into our suitcases and when we arrived home our suitcases had the most beautiful aroma from our clean laundry. On October 19th we saw in the window display what looked like a custom leaf dress so my wife and I along with my 2 middle age nieces decided to inquire about the price. My niece asked Ms. Ionela Pop in a very sweet voice "how much is the dress in the window". Ionela replied "even if you like it you cannot afford it". The 4 of us were all stunned with this rude answer. First of all is that the way you reply to a customer in your store? Do you make assumptions about who they are and what they can afford? My wife asked again how much is the dress and Ionela Pop replied "not less than $200". Did Ionela really form an opinion that another person cannot afford a $200 dress just by looking at them. My nieces are well educated ladies that dress very nicely so I do not understand what was going through Ionlela's mind with that rude answer. I calmly asked her to apologize to my niece and her response was "I did" but she never did. Ms Ionla Pop went on to make some excuses for her rude reply by saying it was a communication error but we were all speaking plain english so there was no communication error. We gave her several opportunities to redeem herself and all she did was get nastier and defend her right to say what she wants...How this rude and bitter lady stays in business or employed is beyond me. read more

I wish I could give this establishment less stars, but unfortunately I cannot award them any lower a rating. The service that I received from this store is some of the worst that I have ever experienced. I inquired about the price of having a shirt cleaned before I dropped my clothing off. The lady quoted me a price, which I found agreeable. After coming to pay for the shirt, I found out she told me a price well below what they actually charge. Not a good start. I dropped my shirt off on Wednesday, getting ready for a wedding on the following Saturday. I explained this to the man at the counter, and he repeatedly assured me it would be ready in time. This employee, who had previously been wearing headphones and laughing at videos on his phone, seemed upset that I was asking about timing. I return the next day, and the same man tries to get me in and out of the store as fast as possible. Before leaving, I removed my shirt from the bag and looked over it. There was still a large stain the center of the shirt. After pointing it out, the man offered to have it cleaned again. I then emphasized that I HAD to have the shirt back the next day, and he assured me it will be ready. The following day, my friend goes by to pick up the shirt and is told by this same man that he cannot find it. I speak with the man on the phone and very clearly explain the importance of this shirt and remind him of his promise that it would be ready in time. He continues telling me that I can come pick up the shirt on Monday, and that there is no way I will be getting it today. After arguing with him on the phone for 15 minutes, he magically finds the shirt and hangs up on me. Overall, this has been an awful experience and I would only recommend Fast Iron Cleaners if someone was looking to get rid of a shirt. Perhaps if they had received an ugly shirt as a gift, and would like to dispose of it without offending someone. read more

A little bit on the higher-end side, but it's great service there in terms of getting your dress shirts washed or drycleaned. $3.25, & $6 respectively. Tried this cheap place one time, and i learned my lesson so don't mind paying more. Plenty of street parking along W.Georgia & side streets. I bought a skirt at Winners on clearance and the seams were so awful.. So I got the skirt re-done here for $15. Pretty good for doing a whole skirt all over again! I got it back within 2 days which was awesome. read more

Do not use this cleaner. Their normal business practice when you drop off clothes for laundry/dry cleaning, especially after you have been there a few times and use their blue bags for drop off, is to not give you a receipt for how many clothes you are dropping off. This being Vancouver, I didn't make much of it because everyone is honest and trustworthy. Last week, I dropped of 13 items of clothing, mostly my girlfriend's work clothes, and on pickup they only returned 12 items with a bill for 12 items. When we told them there were 13 items, they would not acknowledge this and said that the bill only has 12 items. Clearly the bill was not made upon drop off as this is not their policy so they have the free option to say whatever they want when you pick up. Further, they refused to recognize that I was a happy return customer before this and provided no compensation monetary or in-kind for my grievance. I will never use them again. Please do not use them, they are at best careless and at worst thieves. read more

Fast Iron Cleaners destroyed a brand new designer shirt. It came back smelling heavily of a toxic, fragrant, cheap soap. I am severely sensitive to scents and this shirt is now unwearable for me. I have been going to Fast Iron for years because they don't usually use scent. Considering I am a long-time client, the manager's response is what lost my business. She sends the clothes to a third-party drycleaner in Burnaby. She basically blamed them and refused to take responsibility. I told her she hires 3rd parties as part of her business and quality control is solely her responsibility. She disagreed and then hung up on me. Drycleaning the shirt again isn't an option because the scent will set in permanently. Terrible customer service. read more

This was for a couple of years back. I had a jacket here dry cleaned, and I had instructed them to be careful about the hooks on the jacket before they sent it to the dry cleaners -- they hadn't done so, and the jacket was torn up. They didn't offer to reimburse me when I took it back, all torn up; it was only later I realized that dry cleaners are actually liable for damages to garments. I contacted them back, and only then did they follow up with their dry cleaners to get me reimbursed (which in their defense, they did). It's a shame because this is the most convenient location for me to do dry cleaning at. read more

Sad to report my past four visits were failures. Ionela, the amazing seamstress, has drastically reduced her hours. If you need more than simple hemming and you can't bring your stuff in at 7am, you're out of luck. Unfortunately the woman who works there in the afternoons has very limited knowledge of alterations- and of English. And drycleaning? I dropped my kilt off to be pressed for a theme party (because if it's not Scottish, it's crrrap!), and the new gal promised it would absolutely be ready in time. it wasn't. I have dropped off business clothes to be dry cleaned twice. Both times, the clothes were ready when they were supposed to be, came out clean, and did not have a strong chemical odour. The prices are a bit on the steep side, but it's in the middle of the business district, so that's to be expected. read more

Absolutely horrific service. Ruined my expensive goose down jacket then the gentleman at the front desk tried to fight with me on the phone when I called to complain. Not to mention the gentleman did NOTHING to fix the problem and I had to still pay for the service. Would give negative stars if possible. Took a Tom ford dress shirt to get DRY CLEANED, care label clearly also read dry clean only and they decided to wash it instead completely ruining the shirt. After leaving the shirt with them for almost 3 weeks to attempt to fix it as much as possible, was handed back the exact same shirt in the exact same condition, being told a simple awnser it was "my fault" Only thing worse than their work, is there service. I've been going to Fast Iron for years. Friendly staff, from my perspective they made a slight error once and immediately did far more than I expected to resolve the issue. They do excellent repairs and alternations. I have my shirts and suits, super convenient, cost competitive, friendly staff and great quality. I've also left shirts in a plastic bag with a paper notice, no problem, came back the next day, all done ready to go. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE !!!!!! Took a chance really sorry I did. Ruined both my silk tops never cleaned before and only worn once . The first a camisole very delicate for some reason they took it upon themselves without consulting me to stitch down the edging. The only reason I can think they did was to make it easier to press which created holes in the silk . The second was a white silk button up which now is a shade of yellow with the spots that were originally on the top that was why I brought it in for cleaning. I Left the tops at the location in hope it would be shown to the manager/owner .Came in 2weeks later (received no phone calls from management ) asked to speak to the original girl who was supposed to follow up for me apparently this poor girl had been deported !!! Instead found my items on the rack of unclaimed clothing for anyone to take! Spoke with someone who claimed she was the manager/owner smirking and acting as if I was making it up all the while continuously touching my tops adding more strain on the holes they created. She acted as if she didn't see the marks that they failed to remove from the other top. Told her I would be taking my items with me and how unhappy I was and that i would return with the same camisole in black unworn with tags still attached to show her the comparison . She said she'd rather me not take them but to leave them there. I asked her to photograph the garment since i wasn't about to leave it and she said it wasn't her job. She did not offer ANY form of compensation, either for the service provided, which is the least she could have done after ruining my brand new silk tops, or for the actual price of the ruined garments themselves. Huge Decline in Quality. I am so sad that after 10+ years of using Fast Iron Cleaners, I have to quit them. Their cleaning has always been satisfactory; however, the quality of their small alterations has declined to the point that I cannot risk my clothing with them any longer. I have more than one article of clothing that is unwearable now. At first I thought I was being picky, then I thought maybe the botched projects were too complicated and my expectations too hight, but now I have to face the facts, as she has botched even a simple job such as sewing part of a fallen hem on a skirt. I could have done a better job myself drunk. Unfortunately, it is the the denial and lack of accountability for the botched projects that make me unable to do any future transactions there. I feel a bit sad for her because she used to do a really great job but I can't extend any more chances - I don't know what is wrong but the alterations are like a kid did them, and her reaction is complete denial, which compounds the disappointment. read more

I've been taking my dry cleaning and alterations to Fast Iron Cleaners for the last few years because the location is close to my office. Cleaning is ok but I had a pair of expensive jeans hemmed and the back stitching was visibly crooked. I got over that but one but I brought in a dress to be hemmed and she said it would be done in a week. I thought that was a bit long for hemming and pushing it kind of close to the day I was supposed to wear the dress but I trusted her to get the job done. When I came back a week later she said she just couldn't do it. She didn't call to tell me she couldn't do it, she just waited until I came in to pick it up...I was furious!! I will never go to Fast Iron Cleaners again! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I took an expensive custom corset here, because it was closer to my work that the usual place I have them cleaned. I was very specific that it was a food grease stain, and they said no problem (if they'd hummed and hawed, I would have taken it home and attacked it with Sunlight in my sink). I came back in a few days, handed them my credit card, and then thought to check if it had come clean. Nope. The clerk tried to convince me that it was a beverage stain -- no, I know what fell on it, and THEN told me that they can't always get food stains out, when no word of this was mentioned when I dropped it off and they said no problem. And they'd already ran my credit card. They did offer to run it through the system again, no additional charge, so I left it there for 2 more days, and picked it up, and it's still stained. In addition, the fabric is seriously deteriorating in other areas (this was a new corset, i'd only worn it three times, so not cumulative wear and tear), and the kicker, the metal busk part at the front of the corset is bent and ruined, which it hadn't been when I'd been in the first time to pick it up. Next to the bend in the steel, the fabric is lacerated, not just worn through from the chemical cleaners. I'm disgusted. I've been wearing corsets for five years, and I've never seen one ruined like this by a cleaner. $300, down the drain. So never ever use this cleaner. read more

I have been using Fast Iron Cleaners for years and have brought all of my stuff there but this time was the last time I will ever use them! I think for me being a fairly good customer their customer service is atrocious and the way they treated me today was down right rude. I brought in a skirt to get repaired, as the top waist band had a few rips along it and there was a rip half way down the skirt, and I specifically showed this to the Persian girl at the till and the eastern European girl at the sewing table. They told me $18 for the repair and I agreed to it. Today when I went to pick it up I noticed a very tiny section of the seam at the bottom of the skirt had come undone and asked her if she would maybe fix that for me because I am already paying for the repair and it was so small. This way I only had to pay the $18 once and not bring it back in to be re charged for another repair all over again. I'm fairly sure if I had showed them when I had initially dropped it off the price would have stayed the same or if they truly cared about their customers and went that little bit of an extra mile for them she would have possibly checked the bottom seam and kindly repaired it. The Eastern European girl started getting mad and said she already under charged me and then tried to justify it by accusing me of ever only showing her one rip in the top waistband which is 100% not true. Then she raised her frustrated voice at me and said "I am not doing this!" and was adamant that I was lying when I know for a fact I showed both of them how many rips were in the top waistband. Anyway, after all of that I was just shocked at how she treated me and how unprofessional she was about the whole thing. I told them that was the last time I am dealing with them and she just shrugged at me and then I walked away. read more
