Am I allowed to swear on Yelp? Seriously, may I curse out this business? Wait a minute. I have just thought of something. May I swear? Colorful language will really convey my feedback after months of abuse at the hands of the guy inside this shop. It is the. Only. Laundromat. In. The. Neighbourhood. Granted, many of the customers are chemically balanced only with medication. Maybe they are not so balanced after all, and have given this worker a hard time. Sorry to hear that... a business in the DTES has DTES clients. Anyhow, this guy has got to be the rudest storekeeper I have ever encountered. OK. Top three. The are signs everywhere telling me what to do. In itself, this is no biggie. Not leaving my laundry seems a bit rich as there is only one chair in the place. If you do leave, this guy will change the settings on your washer. Apparently, what you think is a load of whites is not to him. He has changed settings of mine--midload. He has changed settings of others, too, right in front of me. His advice to use the machines is *always* for very small loads & the use of more machines and dryers. I checked the capacity of the dryers online. They are not little machines! They are industrial capacity, pro machines. If he is too shy to adjust the washer settings while you stand there, the worker will adjust the settings from the back of the machines with a stick. "Pardon me. Is there a problem?" didn't do the trick. He does not respond to hello, thanks or comments about the fine weather, either. Today, he took out somebody's laundry from the dryer... wait for it... before time had run out. Nobody else even wanted to use that machine. He is a NFsGiven kind of gentleman. One of the items was still in need of drying. After chatting with someone, to his credit, he did return to the machine to toss it back in, but time had expired by then. No matter! Nobody would be the wiser. This was done shamelessly, right in front of me. He took my clothes out once. I think he did it early to spite me. Why? I offered someone a couple of dryer sheets. I cheated him of a sale. PENNIES PROFIT!... this guy must be writing on the customer equivalent of Yelp! Holy smoke! Was that the reason? I don't mind his stink eye, because everyone gets it. He has to roll with that face so I can't condemn him. I can blame him for two more things, though. First, the phony stamp card cannot normally be cashed in. You'd think it would be but he once refused me point blank. His "thinking" is that if you are doing two loads, with one stamp left to earn a free wash, you have to pay for two... carry the card... and cash it in the next time. Free stink eye, though. Second, he works in Canada but has no English skills. I have not heard him speak anything but Korean. Draw your own conclusions. This business needs competition. read more
