We dropped two bags of laundry off at 10:30 am and picked it up at 5:30 pm, though they did say they would deliver the completed laundry to our hotel for $10 more. I should have chosen that option. They are well known in this city by celebrities, well known hotels like the Fairmount Pacific Rim, Rock stars, Heath clubs, physicians and Massage Therapist, Athletes. Its a busy place with lots of attention to detail paid to your laundry services. I met them back in 2010 working with the Olympics Committee and their sponsors hosting the 2010 winter games. I was desperately looking for a company that could assist us with dropping off our laundry for the staff, the apartments they were staying in. They were professional, efficient, understood the time constraints we were dealing with along with the volume of laundry we needed cleaned on a weekly basis. They offered pick up and drop off services and made sure all the laundry was dropped off on a timely basis, Professionally folded and ready to be dropped off in their units for each employee working on the games. This was a large project of 75 units and not to many companies that I know could deal with such a request in a seamless and efficient manner. If there was a problem with stains they could not remove They called us up right away to let us know and what they would recommend prior to proceeding and the cost. Very important when you are dealing with budgets and costs. They are a warm family run business who have been around for over 15 years and no doubt will be around a lot longer! There is no one in town who is as experienced as this business. many times I have had to run in and ask them to wash something and pick it up the same day! I tried really, really hard to like this place because it's just so, so cute on the outside and really close to where I live. I've brought my stuff over to be drycleaned on several occasions and I keep getting disappointed. First it was the skirt where the pleats disappeared (I was told it's supposed to be worn without pleats. Right.) and now the stain on my dress that didn't disappear (I was told that the stain couldn't come out. Right.) I think they charged me extra for the stain too--over $95 for two tops and two work dresses?! Please don't make me seem like I'm unreasonable for wanting a stain to be removed when I take my clothes to be drycleaned. And it wasn't an impossible task either, because I went home and removed the stain myself with some stain remover. Needless to say, I will be looking for a new drycleaner. read more

Swan is still the best in town! I sent in my favourite pair of jeans last month because I had put my foot through the knee. Thankfully, they have the sweetest hook-up with a ninja seamstress that works magic on expensive denim. Turn around time was a few extra days than usual (it was over a long weekend), but my jeans came back with new knees, and a new ass! The price of fixing them was totally worth it, as they've been with me for three years. I expect a couple more after their visit to Swan. Where to get your wedding dress cleaned? Here. For real. First of all there is the delightful bubble gum pink explosion that is this adorable spot. You can't help but smile walking by, with the pink bubbles, the clever little vintage washer out front, and the bright pink chandelier hanging from the ceiling. My 100 % silk wedding dress was TRASHED after our wedding. My husband's grandmother stepped on it, ripping a big hole up the train. The dye from my flowers had bled onto it, I had a few splashes of red wine rubbed into the silk, and of course heaps of grass and mud stains. I was pretty sure it was a lost cause, and was pretty bummed because I had to wear it again at our wedding in New Zealand. So off to Swan Laundry it went, for a cleaning and for repairs. I was given an INSANELY good deal ($110ish?) for the cleaning and the repair, and when I got my little gown back a week later she was good as new. Brand new, even, and the stitching up the silk was done so well that it just looked like another seam. Brilliant! Naturally, when I got back from New Zealand and needed it cleaned from grass stains again, I came back to this same lovely spot. It wasn't near as dirty, there were no tears, and I was quoted over double what I was charged 4 months prior. I was pretty confused, and when I complained, they called me back to advise that their sources had raised their prices just recently and then went out of their way to accommodate me with a discount. To the point that I was told they wouldn't make much profit at all. To me - that shows incredible customer service. Love these guys. My husband and I hit Vancouver at the half-way point in our recent travels and needed our clothes washed and dried and folded. I had 50lbs of clothing on a Yakima cargo bag on top of my car when I made the cross-country...or continent...drive from Boston to Vancouver. Unfortunately, some water got inside the bag and my clothes became damp. I went to Swan Laundry on the sole basis of the reviews I've read online. They did a great job going through 50lbs of damp laundry, washing, drying, and folding all my clothes. The best part of it was they sorted all my clothes into separate bags depending on the wear; underwear, dress shirts, casual shirts, and jeans. What a nice touch. Only downside is that it was $3/lb and drycleaning my suits ran up to $23/suit so I was in deep for $300. But I knew that going in but their quality stood out more than anything. The one star off is because of the price; there are a few laundry places within two blocks of Swan that is cheaper, however, I cannot compare between quality as Swan really earns your respect and trust. read more

Like most people, I'm particular about where I take my drycleaning. I picked Swan Laundry based on Google reviews, not Yelp reviews. I had to bring in my wool Marc Jacobs coat for drycleaning, so I was nervous about how well it would be taken care of. I was impressed by Swan the minute I walked in the door. The bubbly, pink exterior continues throughout Swan. Sweet-smelling laundry, pink ribbons on clothing bundles and friendly service are part of the package. I picked up my coat a few days later at the promised time and date. The coat was cleaner than clean but, unfortunately, the drycleaning machine ripped off a hanger chain detail near the tag of the coat. Two frayed red threads were left where the delicate chain had been. I didn't even notice until I got the coat home. I guess you always take a risk in dropping off your drycleaning somewhere. While I'm overall happy with Swan's service, just be aware that nothing is ever entirely safe. read more

Quality Excellent EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE , EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE! My experience with Swan Laundry has been nothing short of fantastic. They have come through for me on a number of occasions but most recently I had brought in a beautiful Aritzia white coat that had toilet bowl cleaner stain on it. Yes...the bottle of lysol dropped on my coat. The owner graciously gave me a phone call a week after I brought it in to let me know it had not quite come out but she was going to try another option. She then called me to let me know the stain was removed. She waived the large charge for the stain and only charged me for a regular coat cleaning. They are amazing here and I would recommend this place to anyone. I also had to use her service when my washer was broken for a few weeks. They prepsre your clothes beautifully and package it up like a little present. What wonderful people. Mother and daughter team! If I could give a zero then I would. This service was a disgraceful rip off of me as a tourist. I was told that I could have a filled laundry bag washed and folded. Once my laundry bag was collected and I was on an organised tour I was called and told that the amount in the bag was too much and that I should be charged for FOUR loads! We negotiated that amount down to two loads despite the initial advertising line to the group tour director of a full laundry bag fo $50. I was participating in a group tour so was sort of in a bind so I felt I needed to agree. Once the washing was returned at the end of the day it arrived in 4 paper shopping bags none of which were actually filled with washing but rather stuffed with packing paper to make each of the bags appear to be filled. Yes, this is a service cheaper than hotels but $100 to wash (no ironing) a standard hotel laundry bag of washing is just robbery. I recently dropped of a suit to be dry cleaned at Swan. I planned on picking up my clothes the same night I planned to wear them. I thought the store closed at 6. When I went to confirm that at 3:30 I realized that they closed at 3:00. Overall, I received poor service, my garment was not ready when it was supposed to be, and it was not clean when I did receive it. On a Saturday afternoon, I dropped off my very dear jacket. As is customary with most drycleaners, I pointed out that I had a stain; I had a bottle of hairspray break open on it. The girl working wrote me a ticket with a pickup time of Tuesday at 4:30pm. I was unable to make it on Tuesday, so I went in the following day at around 3pm. This time, the owner was working. She was unable to find my jacket, whereupon she asked "did you have a stain"? She said, " WELL. stains need an extra day". This was not explained to me when I dropped my jacket off. I was about to leave for a week long trip and she did, in fact, get an extra day; the jacket was due Tuesday afternoon and it was now Wednesday afternoon. The remaining interaction was full of attitude - she offered to "educate" me on the finer points of picking up drycleaning ("honey, let me educate you here, stains take an extra day") to discussing how she didn't want to fire her employee for giving me the wrong pickup time. When I asked if it would be alright if I picked up the garment after my trip, she couldn't just say yes. She had to say how she's the nicest cleaner in the city compared to "these Asian drycleaners who will throw your things out". For the record, I didn't ever bring up or suggest that she fire her employee; I genuinely don't know how she jumped to that conclusion. I found her attitude incredibly offensive and patronizing on all fronts. Taking some responsibility, a simple apology, and a discount would have sufficed. After my trip, I went to get it over with (please note that she is a Caucasian lady doing a stereotypical Chinese accent). She explained, "Well, I was speaking with my stain guy and he said 'ooohhhhh....velly baaahhd stain...it esmell elike deh ancient Chinese heerrbal, smell vellly bahhd'. He would know, he's Korean". I was stunned. She also let me know that working on this jacket was some sort of favour from this stain guy. She kept going on and on about how it was a velly bad stain, as if it were some excuse. Lady, it was Aveda hairspray and save your weird, racist commentary please. The whole interaction felt far too personal for something as simple as picking up drycleaning. When I went to pay, she offered to just give me the jacket. But then, THEN, she absolutely had to finish with this cherry on my quiet rage sundae: "I sense you are very angry still. I hope you pass on this forgiveness to someone else". WTF??? Though I did get my jacket for free, I would have rather paid for the service than to have such a poor experience. I recently used Swan Dry Cleaning and was extremely disappointed. I tried Swan because of the reviews on Yelp and when I arrived, I really liked my initial impression with the quirky pink branding. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was a huge disappointment. First, the girl that greeted me was not friendly and her customer service attitudes certainly did not match the happy, fun branding outside. Second, they ruined my favorite black dress. I had dry cleaned the dress multiple times before with no issues. After taking it to Swan, it came back faded and washed out. I was so disappointed. Finally, when I saw my bill total, I was stunned so I asked the girl, who turned out to be the manager, to break out my bill by line item (it was a big order). As I sit here writing this review, I am developing a headache from the bag of 'clean' laundry that was returned to me by Swan. I am truly shocked that someone catering to business hotels would use such a nasty flowery scented detergent. I'm seriously considering sending it to another laundry to see if they can fix it so that my suitcase will not reek for months. Seamless service from a downtown hotel. Dropped off a hotel-sized bag of laundry with my concierge, it was picked up, laundered and returned within a few hours. They said the charge would be a flat $50 and they could bill to my room. Not cheap, but sure beats $15 for a pair of pants and $5 for underwear charged by the hotel. You can't actually do the laundry yourself** My clothes came out smelling AMAZING, folded neatly and placed in a large pink bag. I Looooved it! The people working there even helped me load my finished laundry into my car. It all sounds so awesome, right? Well here's the down-side.... for just a little over 2 loads of laundry, plus 3 items dry cleaned (2 shirts and a dress)... the bill came out to just under $135. :O!!!!!! I almost gagged when they told me what my total cost was. I asked them to calculate it again, and to show me how they were billing me, and sure enough, astronomical charges!!!! After reading the great reviews, I thought I'd give this place a try. I had 2 coats and 1 dress to get cleaned. The dress costed about $15 and $25 for each coat. One of my coat came out looking pretty clean, almost like new. Service was great and reasonable pricing. The pink bubbles branding is quite eye-catching and memorable. 100% AMAZING!!!! Literally the best service I've ever had for laundry. While dog sitting last weekend, the adorable little 4 month old French Bulldog I was watching, had a play date with another puppy Frenchie. They wanted to spend hours wrestling and playing with each other all over the apartment, and ended up having a 1 hour wrestle mania session on my bed... Covered in my winter down duvet.... I guess all the excitement caused one of them to pee on it in a bunch of spots! And to my horror, I didn't discover it until the next morning. I called Swan and they had it done by the next day! Not even a spot or any trace of what had happened! My duvet is white, and I literally thought I was going to have to throw it out! Their prices are SO reasonable, and the staff is simply awesome! So friendly, and no judgement. It's a family run business, which I extra love to support. I will never go anywhere else. I'm going to use these guys for my winter jackets too!
