Tucked away in a corner near the Shangri-la hotel, it's cozy and has a large variety of options on the menu, from salads, breakfast yogurt, to sandwiches and soups. We got two sandwich combos to try: - Chicken breast sandwich: Got this one with the potato focaccia bread. Mindblown that they had such niche options of bread (aside from typical sourdough and whole wheat that other places would offer)! The goat cheese was so fresh and the chicken was juicy. 10/10 - Braised beef brisket sandwich: I'm not usually one who goes for braised beef, I usually find it very tough. But this was pulled apart and easy to bite through and the tomatoes and coleslaw were amazing and added to the juice. 10/10 Both came with a side salad. The salad itself wasn't extraordinary but obviously understandable to not overpower the sandwich, the star of the show. Service was friendly and the staff were very attentive. Only a couple spots for seating so would recommend takeout when it gets busy. It was also open on the weekends which is rare for food places located in business buildings. I don't give 10/10 lightly here. But this place was truly amazing, a very fair price, and if I worked nearby I think I would find myself here every day (I even came back another day to try a salad - also amazing). Hope they open more locations throughout the GTA!

The drinks ended up being tasty but let's be clear, they tasty more healthy than they do sweet. The pics give a totally different expectation and that's the only reason I mention that. They almost lost us on that first unstirred sip. All in all, good drink though

Before I came here, all of my coworkers were HYPING this place. Curious I went on a Friday! And then promptly walked back to the car because it was THAT busy. I decided to try this place again the next week after on a Monday at lunch, and it was much, much better. So tip: don't come here on a Friday lunch. It's a pretty small area with a few tables to dine in. Usually these are taken by fancy work people so go in with the expectation that you might have to bring your food back to the office and make those coworkers j e a l o u s. Upon entering, there's two areas to wait; one for salads and the other to sandwiches. I ordered the chicken avocado wrap and my boyfriend ordered the seared tuna sandwich (something fancy like that). They come with a salad and/or soup too so you can be EXTRA fancy and pompous when ordering your nice, healthy lunch. For the both of us with drinks, it came up to around $35 (goodbye money) and we got our food pretty quickly. I do have to say that the food is AMAZING! I don't know how they do it but there's legit magic in the food they make. The chicken avocado was great but I would recommended that tender seared tuna if you are feeling boujee enough. So yeah, 10/10 would recommend if you're feeling boujee health nutty, but be wary of coming there on a Friday and the week before you get paid!

I was a little surprised at its popularity as its location is in a plaza with plenty of other eateries and chains. I ordered their wrap that came with a choice of soup, salad or chips ($10.15). They also offered many pressed sandwiches and salads at similar prices. The grilled chicken wrap looked delicious with quite a variety of fillings: corn, tortilla chips, black beans, lettuce and monterrey jack cheese with chipotle dressing. The portion was huge and each fresh bite had a nice crunch. Chunks of chicken breast filled the cold wrap but would've tasted better warm. It was still good. The spicy Thai chicken soup was similar to Tim Horton's. I felt they should've used a soup bowl instead of the styrofoam cup for dine-in at the eatery. Both items tasted mildly sweet (wrap from the chipotle sauce) and weren't spicy at all.

Whenever someone brings up something foolish that I did in my youth, I touch the back of my hand to my forehead, toss my head back and proclaim "Oh but t'was in my salad days, when I was green in judgement!" LOL. I really should have been an actress! But enough about The Bard and my career choices, what about the food, right? It was good. I had the Salad Days Special ($8.49). It was romaine and iceberg lettuce, sweet potato mash, 2 dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices), tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, feta cheese, hummus, tzatziki, and your choice of chicken, cooked salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, meatballs, smoked ham or falafel. I chose cooked salmon and asked them to hold the hummus. The salad was huge, but the majority of it was lettuce. Still, a really good deal for $8.49. The cooked salmon was a good size, which I liked. It was cold, but still flavourful and didn't smell fishy. I would have preferred it if the kalamata olives had the pits removed, but they were still ok. They have other set salads or you can make a custom salad. Their model is like Freshii, but I like them much better than Freshii. Staff were nice and efficient. So this is the location in Cumberland Terrace, just west of Yonge. They have another location really close by in The Hudson's Bay Centre, just east of Yonge. I like this one in Cumberland Terrace better because there are a few seats right next to it that is only shared with Esther Queen of the Soups customers. It's a bit more secluded. Note that the Salad Days in Cumberland Terrace is not in the main food court area.

My colleague got a steak and smoked cheese panini which looked incredible as well, and the toppings and sandwiches were just SO fresh. They don't skimp out on the good stuff either, lots of tasty goat cheese on my sandwich...I'm drooling just remembering it! There is a seating area so you can dine in, or take your food to go. Maybe this is due to the fact that it's buried deep inside the lobby of this maze of buildings, either way, coming upon it was like a mirage in the midst of a concrete desert. I haven't been to a Pumpernickel's since the days when venturing into the PATH was the only way to get food when working downtown. Since those previous visits, I've noticed that the brand appears to have had a refresh and the menu appears to be even more healthy conscious (and increasingly easy to read). It's a simple process, walk up, choose between a salad, sandwich or a freshly carved meat sandwich (or soups). I wanted to salad with some protein, of which there are two options 1) a small which comes with 2 salad bar options or 2) a regular size with unlimited options (basically until the bowl is full). It's not even a question that a large is the way to go, even if you're not going to eat it all now the cost to volume ratio is far more in your best interest to go big. I went with the large, added kale salad, lentil salad, couscous, beat salad and topped it off with a terriyaki salmon filet for an extra cost. Wow, what a power punch of vitamins and flavour! I actually felt myself get energised as I ate it and the although each salad had it's own flavour profile, the medly of them all in the bowl worked together fantastically. I was really tempted by the freshly carved roast beef option, I think I'll save that for my next visit Eatcrest Out!
