I called JD, explained my issue and was promptly told that he was not going to touch my machine, he said it was an insult to his work that I didn't contact him first before attempting to fix it myself, I explained that I didn't mean to insult his business but was only trying to save money. I made a mistake and I was very willing to pay him whatever the cost would be. Needless to say I threw away his business card that I've had attached to my fridge for a long time. I went in because I was starting my search my search for a new vacuum. I had very specific needs, and I told him what I wanted. He was able to tell me the difference between brands and models and show me various model issues on machines in for repair. Then he showed me two machines that would work for my needs, but this was not a high pressure sales pitch. He was perfectly neutral about a sale, which made it easier to decide. Once I'd made my choice, he showed me which replacement bags I'd need and accessories I might want. Again, this was neutral. Super easy check out because his prices were better than online, and I enjoyed working with the owner.
