Fast CPR has been there since I was in nursing school. Now that I'm working as an RN and utilized in many capacities and departments, I have the option of utilizing the services of the education department of Hawaii's only level one trauma center and Magnet recognized hospital.
Fast CPR is quick, their teaching style is wonderful and they offer classes at very convenient times throughout the week.
Now moving forward to 2020-2021, a pandemic and navigating around COVID-19. Most healthcare workers are working diligently with caring, educating and preserving the health of our patients while doing our best to keep not only ourselves, but the rest of our team, other patients, their families, the community and most of all our own families safe from this virus. We working with masks and all the equipment in challenging situations where outcomes have been devastating at times. To put it in a nutshell, it doesn't matter what department you serve in within healthcare, you're exhausted and thinking straight, remembering appointments and keeping your head on straight has been reserved for our patients and our own protection. Physically exhausting.
With the pandemic, many companies have shut their doors, some for good due to shut downs, risk of transmission of the virus and clusters in the community. We as healthcare workers, once treated as heroes are at times shunned and suggested that we are carriers of this virus no matter where we go. Mentally and spiritually exhausting.
With the aloha spirit, the community has come through in providing meals, discounts but most of all love towards healthcare workers. But with COVID-19 dragging on, many companies have not kept up with finances and manpower. Yet it is seen so clearly which companies are doing things from their hearts and which ones are not.
Fast CPR is a business. It is about profit and making the most buck for the time. It is money making, there is no aloha or compassion/understanding at this corporation, even with shown loyalty throughout the years. It is about hard kept rules and the number of seats, why? Profit. And yes, the majority of their clientele or customers are healthcare workers. The ones that I had mentioned are physically, mentally, spiritually exhausted but still putting out because we were built with a few important things inside, love, caring, compassion, empathy, knowledge, intelligence, selflessness and probably the greatest, aloha.
Fast CPR as I mentioned is a business with hard driven, black and white, cold rules. Not towards the training portion but towards their customers, as I mentioned healthcare workers. Is there any sense of gratitude toward these healthcare workers, well, maybe a glimmer but to all reading this remember, when you're tired from providing overtime to cover patients, when you're exhausted from the multiple codes that occur throughout your shift, when you're crying inside because all you have is a phone to really communicate with your spouse, your children, your family and your friends because being with them places the risk of transmission. When your anxiety level goes down which is never, because you're constantly thinking about what you might have missed, holding the hand of someone that has to pass on their own, when you've taken your COVID-19 test for the fourth or fifth time because of the many facets of being exposed. All you're left with at the end of your shift, undressing in the garage, straight to the shower, eating dinner alone in a room away from everyone and for many nightmares and insomnia. This company won't be there for you. You miss your scheduled appointment for training, well you lose your money and any heartfelt understanding. Fast CPR is a business. They do not support anything outside of their office. They are a business. Money driven, heartless business.
When we eventually come out of this pandemic, myself along with all the other nurses, our family at all the other hospitals, facility and community centers. My dear friends that I've exchanged friendships with at school, at work, at trainings for our education credits, meals that we've shared at parties and you ask me if I would recommend a CPR place, anywhere can work towards and teach CPR, but if you need one with heart that supported us during these hard times, my recommendation will definitely not be Fast CPR. They want your money, but so does everyone else. Do they stand out for anything else, convenient times, but other companies/businesses could do that? Do they have heart and aloha? DEFINITELY NOT. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY. They could obviously care less about those receiving certification going out in the community and doing something with what they teach, they just want your money. cc:: Social Media pages. read more
