This was not my first CPR/AED training that I have gone through, but I have to say his training is the BEST CPR/AED and first aid training I have ever attended. Signing up was easy and his training schedule is very flexible. The classroom is currently located on the premises of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Aiea. Clean and roomy, a very comfortable environment. With over 30 years of experience, Eric is very knowledgeable and informative, patiently answering questions. He clearly demonstrated and explained the CPR/AED process; I am now more confident than ever if the need arises to be able to respond to an emergent situation. I also took the Basic First Aid for Adults training portion; I really liked how he tailored the training to the class. He went over different real-life scenario's explaining how to identify and treat the different type of injuries that we may come across. I liked that he gave recommendations for equipment to have with your First Aid kits and taught us there will come a point in a situation that will be beyond our capabilities to treat, in other words, know your limits before you do something that may actually hurt the individual more. I've taken CPR/BLS with Eric a few times now and he's been consistently great! His teaching style is informative and the environment is no pressure. It's a place where you feel like you can come to learn without being judged. Eric has a lot of real life experience and he shares/incorporates it into the lesson to make it easy to understand. Since Covid, I do notice he takes the extra time to clean mannequins and socially distance the class. Each table also has wipes that you can use to disinfect the area. Eric was very knowledgeable, and direct. He for sure believes in learning by doing, the classroom it's done in is clean, roomy, and air conditioned which is also nice. Eric also provides MANY classes so it's super convenient for someone like me who began pre-boarding for a job and was informed that a CPR/FA cert is different from a BLS and needed to find a place quick within 10 days. He makes himself available by phone, text, and email. This class was awesome! Very informative. Also if you're anxious about being in a group or just don't know what you're walking into the class is so chill but you get a lot of knowledge from it. The instructor was great! I learned a few new things being in this class that I didn't learn in the other class I went to. He gave a lot of different pointers and things to remember. Just took their CPR class last night and got my card after only a couple of hours. Eric made class very easy to learn. This was my first time taking the class with them and don't regret it at all, needed to take this class for a job that I'm starting. Eric made sure that we felt comfortable in what we learning and I am very much comfortable now with doing CPR. Also class is much cheaper than other places and they have many classes throughout the week to fit with your schedule. Great class! Would highly recommend for first time certification and renewal. I haven't had my BLS certification renewed for years but Eric made it easy to understand the information. I loved how he included alternative techniques and what you can do if you come across a situation that isn't ideal. I went here for my first ever CPR, AED, and First-Aid Training. I am an introvert and never really want to attend group classes, let alone be with a group of strangers. But, Eric made sure that we are comfortable in the class. I usually renew my CPR thru my employer but since I was laid off from them, I found Hawaii CPR thru online search. My CPR card expired and I needed to have it renewed right away. Luckily, a friend told me about Eric and he was very kind to accommodate me right away. I had his class that Sunday and got the certificate "proof that I've taken the class and exam" emailed to me right away to show it to my work the next day and the real CPR certificate from AHA came the 2nd day..how fast was that?!! I'm very glad to have taken his class because it was so much fun. Yes, the other reviews are very true, Eric's class is very fun and he has a way of making you remember step by step on how to save a life.
