I made my reservations far in advance (a couple weeks) before my trip. The ride from the airport to my hotel was fine (although I did feel like the driver drove too fast, but whatever.) More than 15 minutes prior to our pickup time on the return trip, they call my cell phone and state "the driver is there looking for you." I inform them I'll be there shortly, as it is still more than 15 minutes prior to my pickup time. In the amount of time it took me to collect my suitcase and walk through my hotel to the front reception desk (still less than 15 minutes) the driver decided that waiting until my pickup time was too long, and pulled away. I was lucky to call another cab and they showed up in 10 minutes. To FAST AND FRIENDLY: if you say you are going to pick someone up at a certain time that has a reservation, don't leave BEFORE the scheduled time of the pick up. Fantastic service. I have taken lots of different modes of transportation in Oakland and San Francisco and have had mixed experiences. After the first time I rode with Omar in Fast and Friendly taxi I had such a good experience that I haven't and would not suggest anything different. Omar arrived early for each of my 4 trips with him. He was a very smooth driver avoiding dips in roads, not going to fast around corners, and enjoyed having a conversation with me. In addition, I mapped all of the routes and he made them quicker without speeding. He knows the cities well and chooses appropriate routes for the time of day. It's easy to tell he enjoys his job because he was always smiling. When I come back to the area, I will request Omar with Fast and Friendly Cab (you should too). This guys is seriously awesome. Discovered accidentally and so glad that I did. After living in Oakland for several years, I'd lost all faith in cabs. They're late or never show up, they take strange routes to bleed an extra couple dollars out of the fair, they talk on their cell phones the entire drive. But not Abdul, he was so great in getting me to work on time that I called him back at the end of the day and had him drive me back home. He's very friendly and a good conversationalist, he's punctual, he even called to let me know his exact eta. No plans to ever call another cab company in Oakland again. I've known Abdo for almost two years now and I use his services quite frequently (2 or 3 times a week). He and his colleagues are extremely reliable and efficient. I've called Abdo personally on several occasions, once I believe he was sleeping! He always answers the phone and if not, he calls back within minutes. The worse cab ride I've ever had in my life. First off he was about 20 mins late and it was a scheduled appointment. He finally picked me up and the cab smelled like old gym socks. Ewwwww!!
