This is a nice clean shop right next-door to Harley Davidson in Lihue, Access is up the back stairs through the red door. Rob did my simple tattoo. He's a professional, lots of experience. He worked with me on the design through text the week before. It really only took a few minutes to tattoo. Nice job. Reasonable price. read more

Didn't plan on getting a tattoo but being in Hawai'i I was INSPIRED. It was a bit hard to find a place that had availability on literally a days notice but Farsyde took me in! I knew it had to be a turtle or a hibiscus flower but then I found a design with both! Price was a minimum of $100 but it was well worth it. I love i get something permanent from my first time in Hawaii! read more

Highly, highly, highly recommend Farsyde if you're in Kauai. The team there was incredibly nice and so welcoming from the moment we walked in the door, to the time we drove off; I've never felt more welcomed in a shop. I went here on vacation and I couldn't be more happy with the work Kaesey did. My husband and I were visiting for our honeymoon. We ate our way through Maui and Kauai and I fell in love with coconut shrimps. By the 3rd time I ate them, I joked that I love them so much, I'd get a tattoo of a shrimp. My husband somehow convinced me that it would be fun to actually do it. Next thing you know, he wants one too but of his beloved spam musubi. We flew from Maui to Kauai on a Tuesday and drove to Farsyde as soon as we landed to check out the shop and make our appointments for Friday, the day we were scheduled to fly back home to Chicago. We met Yama at the shop and put down our deposit. We returned Friday and Yama had a couple of drawings for us to choose from. We got the paperwork all signed and roughly 2 hours later, we were done! Yama is a fun spirit and super talented! And he put up with my low tolerance for pain lol. His drawings and the colors he mixed up were exactly what we didn't know we wanted lol. It was a perfect way to end our amazing honeymoon. Thank you Yama for the fun tattoos and if you're ever in Chicago again, let us know so we can get more ink from you! Thank you also for the tips to care for our tats during our long trip home PS: I had originally called this other shop in Lihue but they didn't sound sure about availability; they took my number down and said they'd call back but never did. In hindsight, I'm glad they didn't or else we wouldn't have met Yama or been blessed with his talents! read more

For the longest time I had wanted to get a tattoo and after inspiration, I decided to get a tattoo of my favorite animal and whose traits I relish about myself, the honu. I decided a tattoo was the perfect way to celebrate the end of our trip and I convinced my mom to get a tattoo of her favorite animal, the dolphin. The ambience of the tattoo parlor is fantastic. Our artist Kaesey was even more so... he made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process as it was the first tattoo experience for the both of us, he answered any questions that we had for him, and we love the finished pieces. He did a fantastic job and we would recommend both he and Farsyde for anyone looking to get a tattoo. We cannot wait until they heal and we can see the fully healed tattoos!! read more

Rob is the man! Attention to detail and the softest touch. Location moved to a really cool warehouse.

I can't speak to this shop in general but the artist, Rob really screwed us. We were on our honeymoon and had long planned to get tattooed while in Hawaii. We went in and gave him our designs and a deposit the day we arrived on island. On the last day of our vacation we showed up for our appointment and the shop was closed. Long story short we were able to get a hold of him but he had zero recollection of any of our interaction. Was a real sour note to the end of our trip. Would definitely not deal with him again. read more

Rob was our artist. We were in Kauai for my wife's 40th birthday and we decided to get some "permanent" souvenirs. We picked tiki tattoos. We described what we wanted to Rob and then he turned them into reality. I wanted a "New School" vibe, and the wife wanted something a little more feminine. Rob did a great job. The vibe and cleanliness of the shop was awesome. It wasn't in a mall or shopping center. It was located above a garage in an industrial part of town. We loved our experience there. And the fact that Rob was concerned with our vacation time and worked around our schedule was awesome. Thank you for such a memorable experience. read more

Comfortable, clean, and friendly - Farsyde is very welcoming. Even the most novice would feel less intimidated and welcome here. When you walk in you don't find a shop person at the desk, but just chill out and look at some flash - one of the artists will stop to talk to you when they can. Rob has done three fairly traditional pieces for me here that he drew up and each one looks great and the pricing is very fair which leaves room for a nice tip when you're happy with your new ink. read more

I went to Farsyde Tattoo & Piercing to see if I could schedule a tattoo. I only had a few days left of my vacation and they were able squeeze me in. Rob did a fabulous job on my gecko and plumeria tattoo. He has great artistic ability. The shop was very clean and they took extra care due to Covid. I would schedule your tattoo at least a week in advance so you don't miss out on their excellent skill. Thank you Rob. Fuzzy B. read more

This review is solely on our artist Felix who happens to be a guest at this parlor. Our group of five were interested in procuring ink as a memory of our vacation on Kauai. After visiting several parlors we finally found an artist who wasn't a cockaroach (Hawaiian term for steal; rip off). It was quite apparent that other artists seen nothing but tourists and dollar signs when we walked through their doors. They were mistaken to have thought that we didn't know our ink prices. Hello, we're from Seattle. One of our group was inked by Kapu Tatto Studio. Another party in our group was inked at Farsyde by Arturo Luna (Arturo was recommended several times throughout our stay) and the remaining three of us were inked by Felix. The three of us were looking for a flower design the size of a baseball within the $150 price range (other parlors were quoting $300) with depth and a black and gray scale. My wife was looking to get the Hawaiian fish hook. When speaking to Arturo and point blank asking him if he could create a flower that showed depth and didn't look like a drawing from a child's coloring book, he answered "no I usually refer those types of tattoos out." (Arturo specializes in tribal/Polynesian art) I thank you Arturo for knowing your artistic limitations and referring us to Felix. In order to secure an appointment a $50 deposit is required which will then be applied towards the final price. Visa/MC are accepted forms of payment. The shop is air conditioned which is nice. You would think all the parlors would be in HI but that is not the case. There are two couches to sit on while waiting for everybody to get their ink. Felix drew up an amazing lily flower for the three of us! Two of us chose our left hip and one of us chose the top of the right foot. Felix scheduled each of us for 2 hours so that his work wasn't rushed and used 1.5 hours on each of us. Felix didn't take smoke breaks nor any other type of breaks while inking us (he used the left-over 30 minutes between appointments to eat lunch etc...) but rather focused all of his attention onto us and his art. Felix is clean (my daughter hates dirty fingernails and hands), methodical and personable. Arturo would be getting the same review as Felix if he was a bit more honest in his pricing. My wife was quoted the same $150 which would have been agreeable if Arturo hadn't finished the tattoo in 35 minutes. The right thing to have done Arturo is to only charge $100, the minimum requirement. My daughter, my bestie and myself all left with a classy and gorgeous lily tattoo that cost $150 + tax + $20 tip each. If you ever get to Washington Felix you must let us know. My daughter would love to have you as her go-to tattoo artist. Besides, Washington is better than California right? Go to Felix peeps, he's fucking awesome! (using that word only because that's about the only word used in the shop. So don't be too sensitive or uptight!) read more

This was my first tattoo ever and Jarod did the best job that I could ask for from a tattoo artist. Not only did he make me feel welcome and comfortable, he was so stoked to do my tattoo! I didn't feel rushed whatsoever. We went over a few anchor designs and different types of lettering and came out with the perfect match. I was worried about the pain since it was my first time ever and not knowing how it felt is what scared me the most. But Jarod understood and made me feel comfortable beyond what I expected. And it hardly hurt at all! I don't know if it's my pain tolerance or just his skill level. Probably both. But he made the experience amazing for both me and my wife. My wife got a nice mixture of local flowers and it couldn't have been done any better! We are beyond satisfied and if given the chance will travel all the way back to Kauai just to get some ink! Thanks so much man! Highly highly recommend going here if you're local or just visiting!! read more

Great first tattoo experience from Kasey! Schedule in-person and bring at least $50 cash for the deposit and photos/drawings of your idea. I scheduled my appointment only 4 days in advance, but if you're on vacation then schedule early (when you arrive) to be safe. The day of the appointment, I was doubting my design and worried they wouldn't want to change it. But Kasey quickly edited the design and gave advice on composition & placement so it looked perfect! He made sure it was exactly how I wanted it before we started, told me what to expect during and after the tattoo, how to care for it, and how the tattoo will change as it heals and over time. The tattoo took 2-2.5 hours and cost $350 (which the deposit counted towards)--almost exactly the amount I expected. Kasey was kind, great to talk to, and made sure I was comfortable. He went all in on the shading and it came out awesome! Thanks Kasey & Farsyde! read more

During our visit to Kaua'i in August the bf and I decided to get tattoos. What better way to remember a vacation? We checked out the few tattoo shops on the island and by far this was the best tattoo shop we went to. All the staff was extremely friendly and the shop was very clean. Most places that we called or went into were booked or just didn't seem interested at all. Not at Farsyde. When we called they invited us right over to look at their work, go over what we wanted, pricing and set up an appointment. When we got to our appointments both Mario and Rob were ready with several different drawings and ideas. There are several artists available with different styles and creativity which was great because we were able to work with an artist that suited our preferences. There is also someone also available to do piercings. The bf went with a tiki on his calf muscle and I got a plumeria on my upper rib cage. Healing time was super fast. Neither one of our tattoos scabbed, no raising, minimal peeling and the colors are still vibrant. Pricing is based on piece and time. Very reasonable pricing for amazing clean work. Deposits start at $50. The bf took 3 hours to get tattooed and mine took less than an hour. I hung out and chatted with some of the artists while the bf finished getting tattooed, everyone made you feel welcome like you were in their home. The biggest obstacle we had was finding the shop! The shop is an industrial area with garage bays. The tattoo shop is right next door to a car audio place. There aren't any signs really indicating where the shop is. We thought we had gotten lost because Google maps suggested two locations. The Koloa location is their old address! They are in Lihue One of our favorite experiences while in Kaua'i. read more

My husband and I got fun smaller tattoos here on our last day on Kauai and for his birthday! We called ahead which I'd recommend doing - Even though we didn't have an appointment, they knew we were coming and were able to fit us in. Jason was our artist and did an AMAZING job. I got a wave and my husband got a hibiscus. He did great work, and he and the other artist (didn't catch his name, unfortunately!) were so personable. They were so fun to chat with for a few hours while we got our work done. A bonus to how great the artists are - This shop is so cool! We both have been in lots of shops over the years, and this shop is by far the best looking I've seen. Such great looking decor and cool exterior. This place is off the beaten path near the airport in Lihue. It's clean, has a great vibe. We were impressed with his easy-going manner, sense of humor, his attention to making sure everything was clean and hygienic, and the fact that the tattoos looked exactly like what we had given him. I highly recommend this guy and plan to go back at our next visit. Thanks Rob for making this a great experience for us. read more
