Lets just say the Yelp reviews don't really justify anything here.
You are probably reading this because you are stuck in a similar situation and I love hearing what people have to say from their experiences:
I am currently 24 years old, male, in the travel industry, and this is my story:
ROGAIN:
At 21 years old I started the hair loss process unlike most of my friends at a young age. I used rogain daily, and like everyone experiences, doesn't treat the front area. Well the process speed up once I stopped it and I was stuck to doing some comb over to the point where I decided to shave my head because thats an easy out, right? Well, I didn't release how critical that was to how bad my hair loss was and now I became that "He shaved his head because hes balding" look.
HAIR TRANSPLANT:
At 22 years old, in July of 2014 I got an FIT hair transplant. That cost me almost $8,000 with 1200 grafs at $6.5 a graf. (1200 isn't really a lot). The doctors were cool but little did I know that I had to not only maintain my current hair by taking pills on a daily basis , but the hair that I didn't get transplanted would also fall out sporadically. Anyways, within a year I saw the growth of the hair but saw more hair loss come. Pretty bummed out since at this point I couldn't get the density I really imagined I would get. I could see if I had maybe $90k, I could be somewhere I maybe would want to be.. But not wanting to risk all the FIT scars.
Well , it got to a point where I was over it and once again buzzed my head, well- the scars from the FIT were noticieable and then the hair on the top of my head was also leaving me once again- wearing a hat.
HAIR PIGMENTATION:
I did some research and found myself going to a hair pigmentation place (a place where they tattoo dots) to help it appear as if you have little follicles when buzzed. That cost me about $2k. That was somewhat helpful but once I grew out my hair, I was once again was stuck in the same place because its not for lengthy hair which I always had.
TOPPIKS (Hair makeup):
Frustrated, I grew out my hair wearing a hat as much as possible until it got to a length where I was using toppiks to add that density.
LIKE MOST PEOPLE, I am sure you have all tried it, if not , its a good cost effective short term result BUT you can't be active. If you sweat or go for a swim, or want to be active in a shower... You really can't. B
Well, once again... I did some research, and stumbled upon some youtube videos of people talking about these systems, and came across Farrell's.

If you got to this part I commend you for doing some research.

HAIR SYSTEM/EXTENSIONS
FIrst off, this was never on my radar. Ever. Until now.
Through trial and error I ended up reaching out to what the internet says is "The Best". I don't usually believe it until I visually see something to prove it. Photos can be photoshopped, but videos are a much harder thing to correct, especially LIVE. Refer to Farrell Hair on youtube.
Located in a discreet location in Los Angeles. I met Farrell and you can tell from just his personality that hes exactly what I assumed he would be: personable-ish, knows what hes doing, has done this thousands of times, same pitch, sells you on the idea that its an option and if you want it , you can, if you don't, its not going to hurt his feelings. Well, I wasn't there to be sold, I went in there already wanting, so if you want change, go in there with the mindset that he can. If you are going in there trying to make best friends, you can probably find that elsewhere. He has that celebrity hairstylist mentality like "Wallah your hairs beautiful, now get on set." I was in Los Angeles, I get it. Thats what I was looking for.
He probably assumed with the way I had my hair and how young I was, that I was not going to budge like most older clientele. Without hesitation I told him I was interested and lets mock up what we are looking for. Thats when the magic started happening. He mocked it up with some plastic, some sharpies, and numbers.
It took 2 months and 2 weeks to get my custom product. Yes, he informed me it was going to take this time. As well as, the upkeep and how much maintenance there WILL be.
Key Tip: Grow your hair out so they can shape the cut
I got into the office, one of his hair stylist shaved my hair, and boom, slapped on the product, designed it, Richard stepped in, gave a note or two then stepped out, and she was back at it. I was done in 2.5 hours after all my notes on what I am looking for.
I left with something that I am currently wearing and absolutely stoked by. It takes me 10-15 minutes to get it on, but I am a perfectionist I am sure you can cut that down, but 10-15 minutes a week is a lot better than 20 minutes a day with Toppiks to have 1 look that you can't do much with.
Running out of space to write , but just know.
I am happy and you should be too. read more
