Lunch is a part of the tour and Dave serves it at one of the wineries so you can enjoy a glass with lunch looking at breathtaking views. I couldn't imagine doing this tour and tasting so much wine on my own. Having a professional wine guide ensures that you can safely enjoy the wines without worrying about driving yourself! I come to Petoskey just about every season of the year, and visiting Petoskey Farms Vineyard and Winery is always my number one priority. The scenic views of the countryside are breathtaking, especially with the beautiful lavender fields and the new grazing sheep, which are just the cutest! The staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and they consistently go the extra mile to make you feel like family. We were also hoping to grab a table and enjoy a few wine flights. Instead, the owner immediately told us they were too busy to accommodate us. When my mother-in-law asked if she could at least purchase her wine, the owner told her she could "try to go in there," but they were so busy that it would take a long time for anyone to help her. She then told her that if she really wanted to, she could go to the left, grab her wine, and leave. We've been coming here since they opened in 2014, so this treatment was shocking and incredibly disappointing, especially coming from the owner. The most frustrating part? We walked into the retail area to buy the wine, and there was no one in there. There were also empty tables available. We couldn't help but feel that because we were on a girls' weekend wearing funny wigs, we were judged the moment we walked in and didn't fit the atmosphere they wanted. After years of supporting this business, they've now lost a loyal wine club member and several longtime customers. We will not be returning. If you're looking for a winery where customers are welcomed and treated with respect, we'd recommend Mackinaw Trail instead.

As we were walking into the winery with our Yorkie on a leash, a chocolate Lab came running toward us and went straight after our dog. The Lab bit our Yorkie in the leg, leaving a puncture wound. We were extremely lucky that we reacted quickly. We picked our Yorkie up, and I was able to get the Lab to release our dog's leg. The situation did not end there. As we tried to get back to our car, another lighter-brown dog followed us, barking and jumping toward my wife as she carried our injured Yorkie. Our 5-year-old daughter was with us, and I had to stay between the dog and my family while we made our way back to the car as they continue to bark at us. What made an already frightening experience even more upsetting was the complete lack of concern from the staff. Not once did anyone come outside to check whether our 5-year-old daughter, my wife, our dog, or I were okay. No one checked on our dog's injury or even came out to see if anyone had been hurt. We were left to deal with the situation and get our family safely back to our vehicle on our own. I cannot understand why dogs are allowed to roam freely around a business where families, young children, and customers with their own pets are visiting while stating their dogs are friendly. The bite broke the skin and left the puncture wound shown in the attached photo. I'm sharing this because other families need to be aware. If you are considering visiting with a dog or young children, please use extreme caution.

A flight of six was $14 but you got really ample pours so it felt totally worth the price. My husband and I split the flight as one of us had to drive and it was plenty. We especially liked the sweeter apply raspberry cider but everything we tried was tart and light. They had over 18 options and all sounded appeasing and worth a try. In the end we purchased an apple raspberry and given that I'm not fond of canned ciders she was willing to pour us some into a glass jar to purchase. We greatly appreciated her service and the atmosphere, and will plan to head back there again. They had a few wine options but if you are looking for hard cider this is the place to go!

We received a goodie bag with a granola bar, trail mix, and a bottle of water and there was also cold meat/cheeses and a veggie tray to eat if we wanted them (we ended up getting lunch at one of the wineries, so cannot comment on the cold snacks, but the granola bar was tasty). The tour was well paced with 45 minutes to do a wine tasting at each winery. You could tell there was a lot of thought put into the order of the wineries, as the most educational was first and the most relaxing/best views was last. Also, one of the wineries we visited offered lunch and that came at just the right time as it had been a while since breakfast. Our driver, Jeff, was very personable and was able to give information on the different wineries and what they offered. The van seats up to 9, so you could rent it for a small group or drop in on a mixed tour (which is what we did). He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, so we didn't have to worry about driving (which is good, because when you do four wine tastings in four hours, you drink quite a lot!).
