We have been a Gionino's family for years and never really considered trying Uncle Spikes until my…read moreson had friends over and they requested it. I must admit, their pizza is really good! We all loved it! Big picture.. The prices are pretty reasonable and they have a great variety of options on the menu. Ordering is easy and straight forward. But, most importantly the pizza is great with a crust on the thicker side and a healthy portion of cheese (ok, it's not exactly "healthy"). As a bonus, the staff seems awesome. Every time I've gone there it's the same guy at the counter. He always has something interesting to share or a funny comment. Makes the visit even better every time! If you want authentic NY style pizza try Pizza DiLauro, if you want filling, delicious Ohio pizza...try Uncle Spikes!

I purchased a $30 discount certificate for Uncle Spike's Pizzeria so I ordered a large cheese pizza…read moreand a small thin crust cheese pizza for takeout; ordering is easy and efficient. The menu is pretty straightforward, plenty of pizza options, calzones, a single salad and a couple of beverages. Uncle Spikes is half of a small building just East of the center of Aurora, the shop is takeout only, a simple counter, one cooler and the kitchen behind a wall in back. My pizzas were ready and nicely cooked; the presentation is simple the pizza boxes are just plain, no logos or writing which is fine. The pizzas are very good, the crust is excellent, the cheese near perfect, and the cooking was the way I prefer it a bit well done. The only problem I had was that there was almost no sauce on my pizzas; with a good sauce these could be some of the best pizzas in the area. I did enjoy the pizza over the next couple days, especially since I could add some toppings including chopped and sun dried tomatoes; the reheated pizza is excellent. The large pizza with the regular crust is big enough that 1/4 of the pie makes a good meal; the small thin crust is also very good since this makes for an even cheesier taste. Uncle Spike's does a really good pizza, the portion size is generous, the quality is excellent, the only issue for me was the lack of sauce, I don't know if this is their usual approach or if it was just a mistake. I do appreciate the nice and simple approach, no frills, no hype just good take out pizza.

We will NEVER order from this establishment in the future!

Stopped into Courthouse Pizzeria while spending the afternoon in Medina Square. The location is…read moregreat, right on the corner of the square. We grabbed a high-top window seat, which was perfect for people-watching and taking in the charm of the downtown area. The pizza is thin-crust New York style, and the slices were a decent size. We each ordered a slice and shared a drink. At $5 for a cheese slice plus $1 per topping, I felt it was a little pricey for a single slice. I wished I had just ordered a whole pizza instead. The restaurant itself is small, cozy, and ideal if you're looking for a quick bite while exploring the square. The young man who took our order was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience with another staff member wasn't as positive. When I asked for a to-go cup for my son's drink, the young woman helping us came across as rude. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the convenient location, and the pizza. A few service inconsistencies kept it from being a 5-star experience, but I'd still stop in again when visiting Medina Square.
