Horrible service and absolutely rude staff! We were seated first after waiting for a table to be cleaned. Four other groups were seated after us, drinks and orders taken. Went up to the cashier to ask to place order there and was met with response from Kim "other people are waiting, they have to too". Even though we were first in and last to be serviced only after complaining that we weren't serviced (not even drinks). Honestly one of the worst experiences there to date. Will not be returning or recommended to anyone. Waitress and owner Kim were rude and unprofessional, but Kim was the worst part of the entire experience. You should not have to ask to have even your drink order taken only to receive an attitude from the owner. read more

Uncle Spikes is half of a small building just East of the center of Aurora, the shop is takeout only, a simple counter, one cooler and the kitchen behind a wall in back. My pizzas were ready and nicely cooked; the presentation is simple the pizza boxes are just plain, no logos or writing which is fine. The pizzas are very good, the crust is excellent, the cheese near perfect, and the cooking was the way I prefer it a bit well done. The only problem I had was that there was almost no sauce on my pizzas; with a good sauce these could be some of the best pizzas in the area. I did enjoy the pizza over the next couple days, especially since I could add some toppings including chopped and sun dried tomatoes; the reheated pizza is excellent. The large pizza with the regular crust is big enough that 1/4 of the pie makes a good meal; the small thin crust is also very good since this makes for an even cheesier taste. Uncle Spike's does a really good pizza, the portion size is generous, the quality is excellent, the only issue for me was the lack of sauce, I don't know if this is their usual approach or if it was just a mistake. I do appreciate the nice and simple approach, no frills, no hype just good take out pizza.
