Farah's is the kind of place where people drink budlight. I dont really know what that means but it feels like the right kind of description. And frankly, I'm struggling to say anything about it so that tells you something. It's pretty generic, with this weird middle bar situation where the poor servers have to walk around a huge kiosk in order to a. see you and b. put in the order. Then your drinks are pretty tiny... like served in a glass shots normally come in. The space is pretty wide open and there were some cuties at the bar. And of course, it has a stripper pole, so there's that. The server wearing a neon bikini comped our second order b/c it took so long so kudos to her for saving the day. Have a drink here because, well, you want to experience the corpus scene but then walk over to the Pelican't for some neon and texas country. read more

*Locals bar-- Not a Tourist Bar* We have been to Farah's a few times before when visiting the Island, and had a consistently mediocre time. This visit however was special! We were greeted by a straight-faced bartender with the most amazing RBF I've seen, who had something in all our drinks they did not have...okay, can handle that...it happens. What was *absolutely* unacceptable was that, watching from a distance we could see the same person greeting the regulars enthusiastically and being nice. Okay. We are tourist, I get it. What I refuse to accept is when I watched Miss RBF short pour our second round. We paid and left. I told them I didn't appreciate the treatment and received the nastiest look. This place is such a dive. But. It's my HOME when I visit. Tons and tons and tons of awesome memories that would shock even Max Tucker. It's cheap. It's cozy. There are tons of space inside and outside. They even have a dance pole for those who want a spin... pun intended. Jukebox music with the occasional live bands. Friendly bartenders who will hook you up if you take care of them. Fun things to do like shuffleboard, darts, arcade games, and pool. It's a pretty clean place so you don't feel like you're breathing in an ashtray. It's not really a place to dance but you can still get your groove on with some of the locals. Check it out. I hope the owner of this place isn't as stupid as the gentleman working security led him/her to be. I was told i was not allowed to have my service animal with me in the establishment; per owners policy. The owner of this establishment is an is apparently too busy mouth breathing and licking windows to realize that they are in grossly breaking ADA regs. I'd love / appreciate a response. read more

My husband, my mother, her medical service dog and myself stopped in on the way back from Whitecap Beach. The photos online looked appealing. We were shocked when we arrived. The outside of the building was rundown, the inside was completely filthy. We figured we would still give it a shot. As soon as we entered we immediately felt unwelcome. They told us "no pets allowed", we explained that he was a medical dog and we tried to provide his identification. They refused to look at it and asked us to leave. We explained that it was illegal to refuse service because of our service dog, and she replied "I know" and shrugged her shoulders. We asked the bartender if she would treat someone with an eye seeing dog the same way and she said "yes"! We decided that it was better off just to leave the establishment. If you have a medical condition they will not treat you with respect or as a human being go somewhere else!!! This is so sad read more

Someone I know who is an honest person, Amy, worked there for a few weeks. One night a customer left $100 on the table. Amy was holding onto it until the customer closed the tab. She tried to find the customer, Brandon who had left the money to pay for his tab, but was unable to find him as it was busy. Misty told Amy to wait until the end and then they would see what they would do, then she accused Amy of stealing the money and ran her out of the bar. Then Misty closed both registers and kept the her and Amy's tip money. Amy kept trying to get the owner to talk to her so she could explain what happened. He never did give her a chance; just took Misty's word. I have heard he listens to Misty over everyone else and Misty takes advantage of that. And this was after Amy took a shift she was not scheduled for because Misty and the other bartender went out of town; Amy saved their and the owner's butts that day and this is what she got for it. Amy had gone in when she wasn't on the schedule a couple of other times as well. One day this will come back to bite Misty. Misty, this is for you: Dishonesty eventually catches up with you and I hope it does soon. There is also drug use going on in the bathrooms. read more

I would NEVER visit this place again, after witnessing the complete lack of respect and disregard for a veteran soldier. After he was pretty much verbally ganged up on and berated by bartenders and locals in the bar, all it took was a 5 minute conversation with him and an opportunity to see his pictures and hear a story or 2 to know he was indeed a veteran. The people were so unbelievably rude to him, I would never again step foot into this establishment. Just because someone is not a local does not mean that they did not put their life on the line to protect this country. That deserves all the respect in the world, and I will never support a business who disrespects veterans. read more

Hey Lottie/Sadie...neither one of you 'asshat civilians' were there that night. since you weren't there that night you wouldn't know that your 'bad ass Ranger buddy' never identified himself as prior military...he just ran his mouth that he was Blackwater to ONE stranger who was sitting at the bar minding his business...and you also wouldn't know that the guy he just happened to run his mouth to WAS ALSO prior Military AND currently working for the company formerly known as...who was actually home on leave from Afghanistan. and when questioned about when/where he worked for BW, your 'bad ass ranger buddy' couldnt answer correctly a single question he was asked that ANYONE who legitimately worked for BW would know, like what team he was on, what was the name of the camp he was on, who was his Shift Lead, what was his CLIN...basic questions anyone who's been there would know..hence he was told he needed to walk away because he was full of shit. instead he began running his mouth and when he wouldn't leave well enough alone and the dude had enough he stood up. Your 'bad ass Ranger Buddy' backpedaled his way right out of the bar without the other guy having to do a thing to him...your buddy just ran. No one else in the Bar or the Bartender had anything to do with the situation or being Anti-Military. Get your facts straight before you run your suck holes. As Far as the Bar...it is what it is...a fun place with a wide range of patrons...if you're looking for Downtown Dallas style, this aint it. if you're looking for a decent fun bar on the island, come on in.
