The last two visits I've gone to Dr. Sam he has been very impatient and rude to my now four-year-old son. I do not agree with holding a kid down, forcing them to do something when they're screaming, which is exactly what he did and rhen told me to stop trying to soothe him because it was just making it worse. He also told me that I my son needed x-rays and I said I did not want to put my kid through that and traumatize him when he was already so upset and I'd rather wait till he was older. He told me that they hold him down, he will scream for a minute and then they will forget about it I'm sorry but my four year old will not forget about it. He then tried to convince me that it could lead to a root canal, etc. even though he just said how great his teeth looked and my kid brushes his teeth every day twice a day and he said they looked great . He said if I didn't do it this time then I had to next ... i'm a registered nurse over 10 years and never have I had an encounter like that. The next day during my daughter's appointment he was extremely impatient, and rude to the 3 year old patient. My children will never step foot in his office again and I advise the same to anyone with young, scared children

It has been a year since I have started Ortho treatment. I was apprehensive about taking on another…read moremonthly payment, but it was the best decision ever. Since the early year of my youth I desired to correct my gap, but it was not affordable. Now fast forward to the golden year of my (insert age here) life I took the plunge. Spending $2,500 - $6,000 on braces definitely required research. I searched several orthodontists and their backgrounds. I felt the most confident with Dr. Teifer based on her advanced training. The dental office is welcoming with bright colors and smiling faces. That is a good thing for parents with little ones since they offer pediatric dentistry. My visit was on a Saturday, which is the new patient consult day. I had x-rays completed, review of payment options and review of my dental needs with Dr. Teifer. After that, I decided to put money down and start treatment. My employer offers adult ortho coverage, so my out of pocket was not so high. Otherwise, I would not have gotten braces. For the cost of a daily latte I have begun the transformation process. The great part is they offer in house payment options with no interest. This made my decision much easier. There was a noticeable difference in my gap closure and teeth structure within a few months and I still have 12 months to go. My adjustment visits are planned in advance and last less than 30 minutes. The tightening of the wire was really uncomfortable in the beginning, but is manageable now since my space has closed up tremendously. At this point I have to wear rubber bands 24/7, which has taken me back to looking like a kid, but I love the results so far. Getting braces has made a difference for me personally and I feel comfortable at Today's Orthodontics. *update with photos once complete will posted*

July 10th these are coming off. I'll be going somewhere else if my teeth aren't where I want them fully. Update - May 2018: Since this review, things did become a bit better until yesterday. I called the canton location because my not so permanent retainer fell off ($350) and I wanted to get it replaced. The rep on the phone tells me that I have a balance of $100 from that installation. Here we go with the billing nonsense again! I kindly tell the rep that I paid for my permanent retainer with my medical FSA and signed up for the remaining $100 to be automatically withdrawn from my account MONTHS ago. I've literally had my permanent retainer for months! So, when I call today you just casually tell me I have a balance? Why is this not something that was not withdrawn and/or rectified months ago? Here I am thinking that I'm paid in full and can get my retainer replaced. The rep tells me that she is going to call me back and won't schedule my appointment to get my retainer fixed until she figures out my "billing" issue. Honestly, enough is enough. I used to love this company and what it stood for, but it's just a hot mess. And why is my almost $400 retainer falling off anyway? I am leaving for Aruba tomorrow and cannot get my teeth taken care of. It's like I'm better off starting over somewhere else! My teeth are constantly separating and now my permanent retainer won't stay on? I've invested so much money...

I'm calling out Soothing Dental, 980 Ann Arbor Rd, Plymouth, MI…read more I initially stopped into their office at the beginning of January 2025. I requested to take their tattered and torn US flag to my VFW Post to properly and honorably retire it. I was rebuffed by the secretary, who told me she did not have the authority, even after I offered to take the flag down myself. The secretary informed me that the office owner had contacted the local flag handyman and the issue should be fixed in a couple of days. I returned to Soothing Dental on Thursday 1/23, where the flag was still waving, tattered and torn. I was informed by a different female staff member that there was something wrong with the "internal system" that raised and lowers the flag. She assured me they are taking care of it. I drive by Soothing Dental several times a week. They have failed to fix their flag. I requested they remove the flag until they are able to have the pole fixed, which as of this morning February 3rd, a month later, they have declined to do. Let me ask.. When was the last time your doctor/dentist ever called you back, let alone when was the last time they voluntarily called you to make sure you were alright? *insert sound of crickets here* Right!? About two weeks ago my mouth was hurting so bad of and on that it was interfering with two of my favorites pastimes - talking, and eating! All kidding aside, I was pretty damn miserable and decided that enough was enough. Since I did not yet have a dentist on this side of the world, it was time to whip out my phone and do some Yelping. I did not have to search for too long, and decided to give Robison Dental a call. I spoke with Mia on the phone whom was attentive and patient, listening to my woes and helping me schedule an emergency appointment. I have never been one to fear a visit to the dentist. Matter of fact, I loved going to my dentist and adored the guy for the positive feedback I'd receive at each visit. I have never experienced dental problems, dental pain, or pain at this level in general. So at this point I was getting a little scared, to tell you the truth. I figured whatever was going on in my tooth, surely could not be positive if it made me want to yank it out and be done with it alltogether. Whatever treatment was lying ahead could not possibly be worry- and painfree. Walking into the clinic I was impressed by the small details in the waiting area. Comfortable sofas and chairs took place instead of ugly, uncomfortable seating often found in other places. Beautiful books filled the tables, instead of weekly tabloids. I noticed a mini fridge which did not only have V8 and bottled water in it, but also served my favorite San Pellegrino water. I'm not gonna lie, this added a little checkmark in the 'positive' section on my mental scorecard (because I am lame like that, and I clearly have my priorities 'straight'). I brought my uber critical and hygiene minded husband along for emotional support; and he mentioned how nice and clean this office was when it came time to move to the back. Paula was waiting for me, pillow in hand (me likey!). She helped me out with some x-rays that needed to be taken, and stayed throughout the procedure which was to follow. She made me feel very calm and at ease throughout the 2 hours that I ended up spending in her presence. Dr JD was extremely nice and pleasant to talk to. He explained everything very well, and somehow managed to bring the news that I needed a rootcanal without me bursting out in tears or massive shakes. I did regress back to 5 year old me, going back to the inquisitive 'how' and 'but why' state. Dr JD whipped out his little tooth schematic, and had me trusting in him very quickly. I actually kinda felt like "OK - let's do this"! At the beginning and throughout the procedure he did everything possible to make sure that I was comfortable, taking his time numbing half my face to ensure there would be no discomfort whatsoever. You could have thrown a baseball anywhere on the right side of my face, and I bet I would not have known the difference. This whole numbing business was new for me, as where I am from cavities are filled without gas or shots. My husband calls this barbaric, I just like to call him a wusspuss. Either way, I was very apprehensive and concerned about both gas and the numbing shots, but Dr JD and Paula once again made me feel at complete ease. In case you were wondering, Robison Dental Group has a bunch of different payment options available. Whatever your situation may be, it is clear that this office puts their patients' needs first. Mad props to Dr JD for dealing with my neurotic questions, making me feel comfortable and at ease during my visit - and of course for fixing my chopper(s)! Also plenty of kudos to Paula, she is a sweetheart and super pleasant to spend a few hours of unflattering 'agony' with. Also a quick shout-out to whomever picked the amazing playlist consisting of John Mayer-esque tunes..thanks! I have told a couple of people so far that my dentist is boss, and I will continue to spread the word to whomever wants to listen. Dr JD & Robison Dental for the win!
