Since the early year of my youth I desired to correct my gap, but it was not affordable. Now fast forward to the golden year of my (insert age here) life I took the plunge. Spending $2,500 - $6,000 on braces definitely required research. I searched several orthodontists and their backgrounds. I felt the most confident with Dr. Teifer based on her advanced training. The dental office is welcoming with bright colors and smiling faces. That is a good thing for parents with little ones since they offer pediatric dentistry. My visit was on a Saturday, which is the new patient consult day. I had x-rays completed, review of payment options and review of my dental needs with Dr. Teifer. After that, I decided to put money down and start treatment. My employer offers adult ortho coverage, so my out of pocket was not so high. Otherwise, I would not have gotten braces. For the cost of a daily latte I have begun the transformation process. The great part is they offer in house payment options with no interest. This made my decision much easier. There was a noticeable difference in my gap closure and teeth structure within a few months and I still have 12 months to go. My adjustment visits are planned in advance and last less than 30 minutes. The tightening of the wire was really uncomfortable in the beginning, but is manageable now since my space has closed up tremendously. At this point I have to wear rubber bands 24/7, which has taken me back to looking like a kid, but I love the results so far. Getting braces has made a difference for me personally and I feel comfortable at Today's Orthodontics. *update with photos once complete will posted*

July 10th these are coming off. I'll be going somewhere else if my teeth aren't where I want them fully. Update - May 2018: Since this review, things did become a bit better until yesterday. I called the canton location because my not so permanent retainer fell off ($350) and I wanted to get it replaced. The rep on the phone tells me that I have a balance of $100 from that installation. Here we go with the billing nonsense again! I kindly tell the rep that I paid for my permanent retainer with my medical FSA and signed up for the remaining $100 to be automatically withdrawn from my account MONTHS ago. I've literally had my permanent retainer for months! So, when I call today you just casually tell me I have a balance? Why is this not something that was not withdrawn and/or rectified months ago? Here I am thinking that I'm paid in full and can get my retainer replaced. The rep tells me that she is going to call me back and won't schedule my appointment to get my retainer fixed until she figures out my "billing" issue. Honestly, enough is enough. I used to love this company and what it stood for, but it's just a hot mess. And why is my almost $400 retainer falling off anyway? I am leaving for Aruba tomorrow and cannot get my teeth taken care of. It's like I'm better off starting over somewhere else! My teeth are constantly separating and now my permanent retainer won't stay on? I've invested so much money...

She drove over an hour in the snow with our toddler for a 7:30 AM appointment, only to be treated with complete disrespect and a total lack of professionalism. We were 11 minutes late due to traffic delays, but the office initially said they would still see our daughter. Then, after charging us in advance for services (which is already terrible practice), they turned us away because our daughter had chewed a piece of gum--GUM! She had not eaten or drunk anything since the evening prior, yet they claimed gum could interfere with the medication. No explanation, no medical basis provided, and no prior warning about gum being an issue. What's worse, they tried to charge us an additional $100 because she chewed gum. The office staff was rude and condescending, completely unwilling to take accountability for not providing clear instructions beforehand. They claimed the sugar in gum could cause a reaction to the medication, yet no one could even name the medication or provide any evidence of this supposed interaction. Google yielded nothing. This was just their excuse to waste our time and money. Our daughter had gum before a prior appointment at the same office, exactly one week prior, with no issues, yet this time, they arbitrarily decided it was a problem. We followed their instructions to avoid food and drink to prevent aspiration, but "no gum" was never mentioned. They wasted our time, disrespected us as parents, and attempted to nickel-and-dime us for absurd reasons. This office doesn't care about its patients or families--they care about padding their wallets. Collecting payment upfront before services and refusing an immediate refund is outrageous. They turned a stressful day into an absolute nightmare. We will NEVER be coming back, and I would strongly advise every parent to take their children elsewhere. Save your time, money, and sanity. This place is a disgrace to healthcare.

I requested to take their tattered and torn US flag to my VFW Post to properly and honorably retire it. I was rebuffed by the secretary, who told me she did not have the authority, even after I offered to take the flag down myself. The secretary informed me that the office owner had contacted the local flag handyman and the issue should be fixed in a couple of days. I returned to Soothing Dental on Thursday 1/23, where the flag was still waving, tattered and torn. I was informed by a different female staff member that there was something wrong with the "internal system" that raised and lowers the flag. She assured me they are taking care of it. I drive by Soothing Dental several times a week. They have failed to fix their flag. I requested they remove the flag until they are able to have the pole fixed, which as of this morning February 3rd, a month later, they have declined to do. Then it became a search for a dentist office that accepts our dental plan and Contemporary Dentistry checked all the right boxes for consideration. So we called and set up an appointment for an initial consultation and information about plan coverage, costs, and what is involved with getting implants. We arrived early and had been instructed that once we were here, we should text them and then wait in our car. After fifteen minutes no one texted us back so we called them and were told to come in. After initial Covid questions and a temperature check we were directed to use a laptop set up in the waiting room to sign in and confirm medical information before going in for our appointment. Staff were pleasant and attentive throughout this process and the facilities were clean and comfortable. They called us back to explain and discuss plans and take a new set of X-Rays to see what needs to be done and what it will take and costs. They figure out how much if anything will be paid by insurance and discounts and also offer financing choices. Now we just need to digest all of this information and make some decisions.

When my daughter was examined years ago, they diagnosed her with nine cavities. Her regular dentist found only three. More troubling was my own experience. In two thousand seventeen, I paid ten thousand dollars to have eight caps installed on my front teeth, replacing laminates I had worn successfully for twenty years without a single problem. Since then, I've returned approximately twenty times because these new caps repeatedly fell off. Each time, they attempted to charge me fifty dollars to reattach them, only backing down when I voiced my concerns firmly. The replacement cap they eventually installed doesn't even match the color of the original seven. My dentist was Doctor Julie. She was always friendly at first, but the moment I asked whether I would be charged for replacing the cap, her demeanor changed and she became rather ugly. Most recently, I underwent a root canal so they could place a utility cap on my tooth. However, when I came in for that procedure and also asked them to glue back on another cap that had fallen off, I complained about the situation. Rather than help me, Contemporary Dentistry refused to place the utility cap and told me to go somewhere else. This office shows a pattern of substandard work, repeated failures, and an unwillingness to stand behind their dentistry or support their patients. I recommend that everyone stay away from Contemporary Dentistry. They will cost you money and give you no good

I came across this one here on Yelp, and I am SO happy that I did. The dentists here referred me to Dr. Pasternak, their oral surgeon. I hate having my teeth messed with and I'm already anxious just going to the dentist for cleanings. Needless to say, I was so nervous about the procedure and possible complications, but she did an amazing job of explaining everything to me and making me feel safe. Some of my wisdom teeth were impacted, so the procedure required more work and was done under anesthesia (by my request, I wanted to be out of it). Everything went exceedingly well, I had no pain during recovery, and the incisions/holes healed with ZERO complications. Two years later I still think back on the experience and how grateful I am to Dr. Suzanne Pasternak for the skill and care she provided. I figured I should write a review since I still feel so strongly. The office staff were amazing too and were very helpful during all of my pre-procedure visits. I highly recommend this place for everything dental-related. I would make it my regular dentist's office if I didn't live so far!
