My husband was dental phobic and had not seen a dentist in 9 years due to dental care without anesthesia as a child. As a result he needed a great deal of dental care. Dr. Lee won him over with his caring, professional demeanor. Dr. Lee has quite remarkable techniques for pain management. We can honestly say with 20 years of his care and multiple types of procedures we have not once had any pain. My husband and I and our entire family trust Dr. Lee. He has improved the health and cosmetic appearance of our teeth. He has done bonding and whitening as well as fillings, crowns, and other procedures as needed. The office is beautifully appointed and never has a dental office smell. Dr. Lee happens to be a fantastic professional artist. Pictures he has painted adorn the space over the fireplace in the waiting room and most of the exam rooms. This feels like being in a beautiful home rather than an office. Sheila is a fabulous front office receptionist. We cannot say enough about her kindness and concern for the care of the patients. The dental hygenists and assistants are also very competent and caring. Do yourself a favor and entrust your dental care to the Lee Center for Cosmetic and Family Dentistry. Dr. Lee has been our family dentist for almost a decade. I cannot recall how we found him but he has proven to be a jewel among the mass of dentists that populate Ann Arbor. Warm, kind, patient, and professional are certainly what you might want to find in your neighborhood dentist and is exactly what you'll find with Dr. Lee and his staff. Fillings, cleanings, extractions, etc. I think they can do it all and with the bedside manner of an angel. He makes connections to agrees oral surgeons and pediatric care providers as needed. We had some Confusing billing issues a few years ago but I think they have that resolved now. They do have a propensity to do X-rays... Frequently and I'm Not sure that teeth need this so often but I chalk this up to their sense of thoroughness. We love that Dr. Lee contributes quite a bit to his local community in time and resources. A big plus in our society of inequitable access and provision of health and other resources. Dentist with social consciousness.. Thumbs up! Best of all, more times than not, my kids leave Dr. Lee's office with a smile and cleaner better teeth than when they came in! read more

My children and I have gone to the Lee Center for over 20 years, and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. Starting with receptionist Sheila, the sweetest person in the world, to the friendly and able hygienists, and of course Dr. Lee, who is caring, professional, knowledgeable, and super capable. Most recently this weekend I lost some enamel in the back of my front tooth and panicked. I called their emergency number and spoke directly to Dr. Lee, who remembered that losing enamel is an issue that happens to me, offered to meet me that day if needed but reassuring me that it could wait until Monday. Monday morning before I had a chance to call in, sweet Sheila called me to set up an appointment at 9:30. With the assistance of his able and helpful staff I was out of there at 10:30 with the tooth fully repaired. I feel so very fortunate to have Dr. Lee as our dentist. read more

I went to Dr. Lee after complaining to a friend that I have never had a positive experience with any dentist my whole life. She highly recommended Dr. Lee. Her whole family go to him, and I can see why. This was the first time that I have had a positive...no, GREAT experience with a dentist. They were attentive, took their time with me as it was my first visit, explained everything in detail, answered all my questions and concerns. I really truly had a wonderful experience and for the first time as a patient I felt that I mattered. When I first moved to Ann Arbor I didn't see a dentist as regularly as I should have because I wasn't from here and didn't want to go through the work of finding another good dentist (I had one back home). As the years went on though, I decided to look for someone in the area. Enter Dr. Lee. This man is a God-send! He is warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable! After my first visit, the office baked a warm loaf of bread for me to take home as a nice way of saying, "welcome to our family". They truly believe that their dental practice is a family, and their patients are treated as such. I've since introduced them to my family, and we couldn't be happier. I have been seeing Dr Lee for over 4 years now, and continue to have wonderful experiences at his practice. It is so important to me to have these kinds of preventive and care services with people that I respect and enjoy, and Dr Lee and his staff fit that bill! They are always skilled and gentle, providing me with a pain-free experience and showing utmost concern for my comfort during the process (from offering vaseline for dry lips to staying open late on Mon & Tues for folks like me that work 9 - 5). In addition to staying punctual (or even early) with appointment times, everyone is always welcoming, friendly, and encouraging. Dr Lee and staff always take the time to explain procedures and recommendations to me and I never feel rushed in any aspect. I cannot speak to the complaints of the other reviewers here, but I can say that in my years of frequenting Dr Lee I have never had a problem with scheduling or billing in any respect. I have recommended Dr Lee to several friends in the AA area who also find his practice efficient, concerned with their comfort, and willing to go the extra mile for their care. Beyond my individual care, I also love that Dr Lee is quite involved with this community, supporting local youth groups, providing community education about oral health, and just generally engaging with people outside his clinic in very positive ways. Wonderful experience from beginning to end. I went to Dr. Lee today for a consultation as well as for a routine cleaning. The office itself was modern and exceptionally clean (not all offices are, sadly). The office staff were friendly and very professional. The hygienist, Julie, was thorough and efficient. I was impressed that she took time to "educate" me as to why there was more plaque in some areas than in others and explained how I could remedy it. Dr. Lee was very pleasant. My primary reason to visit this office was to get a 3rd opinion. He patiently listened to my concern and then offered possible solutions for me to consider, unlike two other area dentists with whom I had consulted previously. (The previous dentists, after coming to the same conclusion, failed to offer a pro-active perspective to my problem, even though the options may be expensive &/or less than desired.) I was so impressed, I will likely switch from my current, longstanding dentist to Dr. Lee's practice. As a person who looks forward to my biannual dental cleaning, this office visit was dental nirvana! read more

Last night at 9:00pm, my tooth that had broken a few weeks prior, started hurting so bad, I would've rather delivered a breech baby through my nose. I looked at so many dentists in the area who offer 24/7 emergency services, and called and left messages to several of them. Dr. Lee was the only one that called me back, and within just a few minutes. I was so grateful just for the follow Up! He asked me to meet him in his office in about 15 minutes! I'll be honest.. I was scared, but also desperate enough... So I took my husband with me. When we got there, I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of his office. It's beautiful! Maybe that's not a tell of a good doctor, but to me, it spoke volumes.. Atmosphere is something I value almost as much as the doctor. It felt warm, welcoming, and cozy. Not uncomfortable white walls, and hospital type feeling. Dr. Lee was very warm, and welcoming himself, and we got right down to business. He checked everything out, numbed me up, and decided to put a temporary filling in my tooth. He knew it probably wouldn't help a lot, but it would cover the exposed nerve enough for me to get a little sleep. He gave me the name of the receptionist, and that he would leave a note in case I called the next morning. I did call the next morning, still in a good amount of pain. So they told me they would squeeze me in if I showed up. I got myself ready, and went in. As soon as I walked in the door, they were ready for me! Had a room prepared for me, and took me right back. The staff was amazing! Attentive, making sure I was comfortable the entire time, even offered a warm blanket if I was cold. I needed to have a root canal... Ugh! Not fun. However.. They made me very comfortable, allowing for several breaks during the procedure to rest my jaw. The assistant gave me hot compresses for my jaw during the procedure which felt so good on my aching jaw. The atmosphere, again, was very homey, and comfortable. They made the dental experience very nice, most people don't like going to the dentist.. This experience made me excited for my next visit, as ridiculous as that may seem. Dr Lee has an excellent bed side manner. His staff is sweet and caring. Yes, there was a baked loaf of raisin cinnamon bread... Which was a cute touch. My husband was very impressed as well. Looks like we found a new family dentist! I can't speak for anyone else.. But, a doctor that's willing to meet me at night to help me with an emergency is the kind of dentist I want on my doctor team. Thanks to the entire staff at Lee dentist! I had to write to say "thank you" again for the great care I received from Dr. Lee, from Dr. Lin and from your wonderful staff during my emergency ordeal with a cracked tooth resulting in the need for a root canal. Your kindness, skill and professionalism will always be appreciated. I have been a patient for years for regularly scheduled cleanings, in which I have always received excellent service. Horrible billing practices. Sent me one small bill in Oct of 2010 then sent me a certified letter/ bill for almost 400 bucks in March '11 that was dated from the beginning of Feb. I received the certified letter on a Friday in March and then by the following Mon got a bill for only $195 that included a $15 charge for the certified letter that had just arrived the previous Friday. Clearly they had not bothered to get all of my insurance coverage taken care of when they sent me the bill for $400. To then charge me 15 for a certified letter for their incompetent billing practices is ridiculous. I called and went off on the office staff, told them I would settle my account and to cancel all future appts. Then in April of '11 I got a reminder call to come in for my scheduled cleaning. I was never able to speak with the billing staff because she was working at home due to a "back problem." I was done with them never to return. I highly suggest that no one ever go there. They do nice little touches like giving you a loaf of bread that they bake while you are in the office. I realize now that the smell of baking bread during my appts was really just a smell of desperation to please patients when they cannot get their billing and scheduling practices together. read more
