One was an admin staff and the other was the cleaning lady. Upon entering my apartment, they can see why I had to hire a 3-hour cleaning service for my tiny one-bedroom apartment; it was messy even for my standards. After leaving a $40 tip (20%) in a sealed envelope for the cleaning lady, I left the apartment so I wouldn't be in the way. Upon my return to the apartment, I was completely surprised at my apartment's NON-transformation. To be completely fair, I do notice a difference in the bathroom, and I can smell the lemon-scent of the cleaning agents when I walked into my apartment. Other than that, NOTHING has changed. Perhaps the kitchen counter was wiped, but I could have easily done that with a Lysol wipe. Sure they took out the garbage, but again, that's something that I could've easily done. Plus, I still had my grocery bags sticking out from the side of the refrigerator --- exactly how it was before I left. Oh, and by the way, they didn't clean the refrigerator either. There were still towels and purses hanging on chairs, clutters of boxes/paper piled along the walls, etc. In fact, the futon in the living room wasn't made up-right (from bed to couch) and the sheets were still on it --- unfolded! Again, my apartment is NOT that big (500 sq. feet). I purchased the 3-hour deal specifically because I needed deep cleaning/organization; not a light cleaning. However, what really lead me to write this review and complain is the fact that when I entered my bedroom to get something out of my bookshelf, I noticed that my bookshelves weren't even dusted! Luckily my dog walker popped by and was able to help translate, but tbh we would have been ok even without a translator. The 3 ladies were an excellent well oiled team who went straight to work after a very brief orientation. I have 2 dogs that shed (a lot) and the ladies made my apartment sparkling clean. They were efficient and it took 4 hours (x 3 ladies) to clean a 3 bed/ 3 bath/ 2000SF - this included mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and making 2 beds and cleaning out my vacuum cleaners at the end. Cost was $240. This included a 20% discount for signing up to having a weekly service. Tips are optional and can be paid in person or through the Homey online platform. Mariella was also very helpful on the phone and by text, and any extra instructions can be texted to her (eg if you wanted laundry folded, this could be added for an additional cost). We told the owner about this and she sent the cleaner to come back and redo some parts of it. But even after she redid the cleaning on those parts, it was marginally better, but there was still some debris and dust left on the edges and corners after she wiped so it felt kind of futile to ask her to redo it a third time at this point since she just didn't seem to have that attention to detail. I ended up just having to clean those parts again myself. In our initial conversation with the owner before booking, they advised they bring all their own equipment for cleaning (including vacuum). But when the cleaner came, she didn't come with a vacuum. Their reasoning was because our apartment is only hardwood floors, but given how there was still dust balls in some corners/edges even in the second visit, just cleaning liquid and wipes are not enough for them to clean properly.
