I was in search of sea moss, and Zion Apothecary is what I found. I had no idea this place existed,…read morebut they've been here for 5 years, they said. They have an herb room where they measure the amount you want, bag it, and charge by the gram usually. They had 2 kinds of sea moss, and they're both ground, not the whole dried plant that I'm used to seeing. I asked if it was wild or pooled. He didn't know, but let me look at the packaging. After an internet search, it turns out it's wild. Yay. The herb room itself is impressive. Worth the visit. But they also sell some trinkets--candles, gummies, essential oils, and lots of kratom, which they grow themselves and apparently know a lot about. I know nothing about it, but after seeing the name all around their store asked what it is. Apparently, it's a strong pain reliever, mood and energy booster. I just looked it up online and it comes with a liver toxicity warning if abused. Anyhow, it's a neat spot in the Willow Lawn area.

They tell you to communicate with them via text but every time I have there has been zero response from them. I had to actually call and speak with someone at a different location (after waiting to hear back from them regarding a message I had left with no luck) to even get my prescription started after watching the welcome video they send you to watch. I don't know who is supposed to return texts messages and voicemail messages but they just haven't and it's very frustrating. They really need to do better.

Instead of trying to problem solve or expressing concern, the pharmacist told me that this didn't happen to other people. I understand that individual responses vary and that the pharmacy is not responsible for my specific reaction, but to have a serious reaction to their product and to be responded to in a way that felt like blaming the patient was not great. I found some of the people that I spoke with there pleasant, but most of them to be very rude and abrupt. I will not be using them again and do not recommend them.
