The ladies here are very nice and they both do a good job, but my favorite lady to do my nails is Nina. They are open from 9:30am to 6pm. There is parking in the rear through the alley, and a disabled space not too far from the front door for those wIth mobility issues. read more

Don't waste your time or your money here. My manicurist didn't even listen when I gave her my preferences. All my nails came out a different length and she slathered on the polish so carelessly and unevenly that most of them didn't dry fully under the UV lamp. When I got to my car, the gel polish started coming off where they applied too much of it. I had to go to another salon to get them redone. read more

This place is a gem. Very quiet and relaxing. The girl who did my pedicure was a doll, rubbed my feet longer than any pedicure I've ever had in my life! It was perfect! The other reviews complaining on here are hood rats who just like to complain. I've been getting pedis around sd every 2 weeks for years and I've got to say this is my 2nd favorite place in all of SD! And I'm a picky picky gal. Thank you! And I will be back. Place is a little outdated on the decor but that doesn't bother me. Good service! read more

Fantasy Nails - He lobby area, super cute. - Nail Salons Near Me - San Diego, California

I've gone to this shop for years and it's recently been sold and I'm sorry to say I don't think it will survive much longer. It looks filthy and outdated, the pedicures are maybe 15 to 20 minutes long and not very good. I had to go home and cut my nails!! The instruments are barely cleaned with some alcohol. If you pay by credit card, check the receipt. A pedi is listed at $22, and they charged $23.00. read more

I LOVE this place! Been going for many years. They always do me a favor by removing removing my painful ingrown toenails. I get to soak my feet in the warm water, get a chair massage and get a wonderful leg and foot massage. The people are very competent and extremely friendly. Liners are used in the tubs for, I don't know what but they feel good too! As in any nail salon, there are many colors from which to choose but Song always treats me to flowers too. I posted that picture. Check it out! I also get my fingernails done and get a nice massage while they are drying. Reasonably priced too which is always a bonus. read more

Fantasy Nails - Another great pedicure from Fantasy Nails! - Nail Salons Near Me - San Diego, California

I have been going here for years and though it isn't fancy, the prices are right on and I like it just fine. All of the girls are really nice and do a great job on my little toesies. They give an awesome leg massage too, which does me in every time. There are ton's of nail polish colors to choose from and they are all good brands that stay on for a long time and don't chip off easily. A spa pedicure is only $18 and I think it's one of the best bargains in La Jolla. They take walk-in's or you can call for an appt. I usually just walk in, or sometimes I call to see if I can walk over within the hour, it's never been a problem. Even on Saturdays! Update 5.15.08: OH MY GOSH! I just went to Fantasy Nails yesterday as a little treat for my flip flopped feet and they have BRAND NEW spa pedicure chairs. They are just like the massage chairs that Sharper Image sells, you know, the ones that feel like a huge ol' Swedish Helga is inside the chair massaging the hell outta' your back?! Yeah...the kind that cost a fortune you wish you could afford? Well now for only $18 plus a tip you can! I'm swear I'm going back every day this week just so I can sit my butt in the chair and get a massage! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention.... these chairs have a function that massages your ass too, I'm not kidding around folks...You had better call 'em right now to try it out for yourself. ;) read more

The ladies here are amazing. They make you feel so relaxed so you can enjoy whatever treatment you are getting. I love the foot massage the best. You can't beat the price either. Check them out for yourself. I'm sure you will enjoy as much as I do. read more

Fantasy Nails - Cathy does great designs that only take her a minute or less. - Nail Salons Near Me - San Diego, California

This isn't the fanciest nail salon you will ever go to, nor will you get a top notch manicure as you would get in a top salon. But the pedicures especially, are a fraction of the cost and they do a good job. They are also very nice and friendly. I haven't had too many problems with scheduling but I know it's a problem for some. read more

just got another regular pedicure yesterday. Oh my aching feet!! Susan took care of me this time and she was awesome. I cannot tell you how terrible the calluses on my heals have been since I cannot touch my toes for so long (now in my last month of pregnancy!). She worked magic and removed ALL of it! And it didn't hurt at all. And of course, the foot/let massage really helped me. I have been to 3 different ladies here, and they are all wonderful. read more

Fantasy Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - San Diego, California

Very average nail salon. I wanted a shellac polish so I picked one from the side labeled shellac only to discover it wasn't going to be gel after she started. That was my fault and I should have checked but I'm a believer that businesses should be as organized as possible. They give nice hand and neck massages with your manicure so that is a plus. The main reason I am giving three stars is because my manicure wasn't quality (see photo). There were patches left and my nails weren't shaped the same way. I saw some loyal local customers in the salon so they must be alright but my overall impression when I left was that this place is pretty mediocre. read more

Fantasy Nails - Post manicure - Nail Salons Near Me - San Diego, California

After checking Vannie's reviews, I made an appointment with her. TOTALLY dissapointed. She was very rude. Removing my gel manicure, she left my fingers bruised and cut. Worst manicure ever, I had to go somewhere else to have my nails look good. She even applied the nail polish uneven. In top of all of these, when I paid, she didn't give me my change, just said Thank you! She tipped herself without asking!!! The place is unclean, the work stations looked liked they've never been dusted. There are many good places in PQ that provide good service and good prices. Awful and costly experience. God bless you Vannie and please don't address your customers: "honey" that's very inappropriate . read more

If you need to get a facial go somewhere else. I specifically came to have my pores clean and extraction. I asked one the phone and twice before the process began. I have some millia and I wanted that gone. Instead I got some light exfoliation and ponds cream application. I did get the leg and back massage that I never knew it's included in a European facial. Very disappointed. read more

I come here because it is really a good deal compared with other nail salons. They really have low prices and the women who work here are super nice. I don't like it that an appointment isn't really an appointment- when I get there I always have to wait. They would get 4 stars from me if they would be better about appointments because I think the manicures and pedicures are excellent for the price. read more

Eeee! This is what I get for straying from my lovely Essential Nails in PB. Knowing Essential Nails would probably be booked last-minute, I popped into this Bird Rock salon for a quick mani. The vibe there is totally cattle-call, and also cold, unfriendly and unwelcoming. No greeting and no eye contact. Most importantly, the arm massage and manicure were totally subpar -- the polish was uneven (I had to point out mistakes) and chipped within a day. Don't waste your money. read more

I like that this little shop is quick and easy to get a mani-pedi at an affordable rate. They are friendly and efficient. Many of our clients go to this nail shop and their consistent good work stands out. Would recommend for people on a budget. read more

Uneven gel mani, had my arms angled weird with both of them in a UV light box and gave a poor excuse of a massage while my arms were bent uncomfortably. Then smeared lotion all over my pants and diamond ring. read more

The ladies that work there are super nice but the polish is horrible. I got a manicure and the next day it started crusting and peeling. I won't be going back. read more

I had been going there for three years. Saturday I went to get gel nails. One of the ladies (not the one I usually go to) did a really 15 minutes bad job! I complained and she said that she was too busy. She said I had to leave and call her later..??? like I have all the time in the world to take care of my nails. she started yelling at me. I asked why she was yelling: no reason, apparently. anyway, they charged me the full price: $40 for a 15 minutes job. I paid just to get over with it. I will never go back. read more

Got gel mani and pedi, great service and beautiful work! After 3 weeks my nails still looked really good and didn't chip. It just grew out so I came back for a new set (: read more

Fantasy Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - San Diego, California

I've been going here for a few months and just getting my toes done. The price is great and they do spend a lot of time on your feet but the polish does not last. It hardly last 3 weeks without chipping. This place isn't bad and it's not the best, it's somewhere in the middle. read more

The Fantasy Nails staff is so nice and they always put on a Vinlyux topcoat after your manicure so it lasts a bit longer.

I've been coming here over 15 years and I've never been disappointed! Suong is an absolute genius - she's quick, thorough, professional and does a brilliant job! read more

Worst manicure I ever had. Every step was done horribly. I had her re-paint my nails and even the second time was horrible. The place also looks gross. I will never return. read more

Very nice employees. Quaint spot. Wonderful, long foot and calf massage with the pedicure.

I was not the biggest fan of this place. They were nice but they took longer than an hour and the nails I had done didn't look good. Never gonna go again.. read more

Ive been going here for years. It's a basic salon as far as decor, but always clean and the ladies are so sweet. I went to another, more popular salon for my gel manicure. Paid more money, and struggled with parking. In comparison they both lasted about about 3 weeks. Nails grow. So I went back to Fantasy Nails. Im totally happy and love that I am supporting a small business. read more

So when I first moved into the area my mom and I always went here becuase it was walking distance and the prices were right. Now, a few year later my mom won't step foot into that place and I think I probably won't either. I get my nails (mani/pedi) done about two or three times a year, so when I go I like to relax an come out feeling great. I have no idea why I went there today when the last time I almost walked out. When ever I go I call to make an appointment. I get there and still end up waiting at least twenty minutes before even sitting in a chair. Then for some reason I get the worst girl woking that shift. Today I got stabbed constantly in my toes with nail clippers and other tools while she was clipping and filing my toes. I asked to have anoter lady to my manicure and was told I would have to wait. I said I would and every five minutes after, the owner was pushing this horrible women to do my manicure. Finally, she got the idea that I really wanted another lady to do my manicure. After her rushing, not even cleaning the dirt from underneath my nails and not even massaging my hands with lotion she half assed my maicure job so much she didn't even charge me the full price. They were rude and unwelcoming saying that they were just too busy for me every five minutes. I will make sure to steer clear of them. This is not the first time they have treated me so rudly and I have no idea why I even went their today, if you do decide to get your nails done their, which I highly discourage, make sure to come early, not have dirty finger nails and not have expectations. Good luck! read more

I just had the most relaxing pedicure here. She massaged my feet and legs for sooooo long. And the massaging chair was so great. I feel like jello. Oh yeah, and my toes look great too. read more

I'm almost positive my nail tech is partly blind. I've flinched and yelled three times when she hits my skin with the electronic thing and she keeps doing it. Additionally, I have never had a fill take over an hour. read more

Really nice women there and decent prices for this area. helps to have an appt especially on Sat.

Had a manicure and it lasted really long!!! She also drew flower prints on my nails and it was absolutely gorgeous. Don't remember which manicurist did my nails but she had short hair. Will come back when I'm in the area again. :D read more

I've been going to Fantasy Nails for years! Every time I go, I'm so happy. In addition to great prices, their mani-pedi includes a wonderful back and neck massage in the chair. Heaven! The manicurists are pleasant, professional, and often go "above & beyond". Treat yourself to a visit to Fantasy Nails! (The name of the salon is the ONLY drawback.) read more

Love this place. Best bargain in town for a manicure and pedicure. I always try to be generous with the tip for these lovely women since they do so much extra with massage and the cost is so reasonable. I get a regular manicure and pedicure and have been happy and pleased with the service and quality of the work- it has kept me coming back for over 15 years. Also, the spa massage chairs are wonderful. read more

I love this place and the women who work there. They are warm, accommodating, and eager to please. They take great pride in cleanliness and keeping everything sterile for everyone's safety and peace of mind. The music is peaceful, and the mani-pedi's are relaxing, and well done. Despite the many nail shops in this area, many of us have been coming here for years because of the comfort level of knowing we will be taken care of in a friendly, professional manner. The women are more than happy to honor your requests when it comes to personal preferences. read more
