ALERT: I just found that this draft was never submitted. It is 3 years old. If it didn't have such good info in it, I wouldn't submit it. I still remember my frustration that day, like it was yesterday. I went with my daughter to pick out the dress for her big day. This was our first stop and we had another appointment at one other dress shop the same day. My daughter pretty much knew the style she was looking for. She was looking for one with a short lace bell sleeve which they had none. The consultant constantly said that each dress could be altered no problem with a bell sleeve. After trying on about six dresses, my daughter found a dress that she really liked, except without the sleeve. Not until this time does the consultant THEN let us know that their alterations is booked out over a month past my daughter's wedding, but they could give her a list of recommended seamstresses. It wasn't until I asked the consultant if we could please have her hold it for a few hours that the high pressure SALES TACTICS came out. She said that all the shops carried 70% of the same dresses and why would she continue when she found the dress she liked. She pushed it enough for my daughter to give in. You might say her tactics definitely worked for a young woman who was tired of trying on wedding dresses. They then had my daughter sign a paper stating she is aware that there is a "NO RETURN" CLAUSE. Soon after I left, I had regrets for not leaving the shop for just a little time to make a better decision. I am mainly writing this for other first-time bridal dress shoppers to BE BETTER PREPARED for a SALES TACTIC move followed up with a "NO RETURN" CLAUSE. Come prepared. We did not anticipate this. My wedding dress was beautiful but it did need to get altered because some of the lace details looked like the dress was ripped. My tiara however was missing pearls and diamonds and I took it back 3 different times before they finally gave me one that was not missing anything. I am writing this review about my entire experience with fantasy bridal - from appointment to wedding. I purchased my wedding dress in August of 2022 and had a great appointment with Q. She was a seriously amazing stylist. She was helpful, knowledgeable, intuitive, kind, sweet, and just simply on the ball. I was overwhelmed by the amount of dresses in the store and she took my words and made them come to life. I had always been worried shopping for a wedding dress would be impossible because I'm incredibly indecisive, but I left asking her "is it supposed to be this easy?" I HIGHLY recommend Q. If it was only for this experience alone, my review would have been 5 stars. I do think they need to make an effort to somehow make the appointments more private as it is SO cramped in there when there are multiple appointments, so maybe scheduling less appointments? But my experience with Q was 5 stars. The reason for my 3 star review is due to management. I went back to Q for an accessories appointment and we selected $800 in accessories, one of which being a belt. The belt that was pulled from the back after we did the appointment when they brought it to me wrapped up ended up being the wrong size. This is a simple mistake, it was the end of the day and I think the girl who grabbed it was new. I called the store and asked to please return the belt or exchange for the correct size, which they said it would take 5 months to come which was far past my wedding. At that point the only option was a return, as I did not like any of the other options. After many calls and after speaking to 2 different people, one of which who said I should receive a refund and apologized, then I get the manager who flat lied to me and told me that their system does not do returns (what point of sales system does not do returns?), that I must have known it was not the right size, and made me feel like it was my fault for a simple oversight that could have been fixed easily. I offered to bring the belt back which was still in perfect, sellable shape. I asked for the owner to call me to discuss the poor treatment of the manager - not a peep. I felt like the situation was handled so poorly. The manager said they had to contact their bridal point of sale system to figure out how to issue a return, which I truly don't buy. Number 1 - what business refuses returns that are their fault so often that they truly don't know how to do a refund and 2, why have one person tell me I should get a refund, then another be rude about it and insist it was my fault? It was such a simple solution and I made it so clear I was happy with my experience, that I have referred people to Fantasy, that I loved my dress, that I wanted to just make one small piece right. Nope. I ended up getting a refund. The owner never called me and they ended up issuing the return. Honestly, you can find all of the same accessories they sell online for 1/10 of the price. The same belt I paid $150 for I found a piece of beaded bridal trim 3 yards long for $12. I also spoke to an ex employee who no longer is there who said they are required to do tik Toks and other social media posts in the dresses as part of their contracts. Those comments on those videos can be nasty, and they make no effort to protect their staff. Making being visible on social media, even with social media harassment, is really strange to me. Offer a bonus or something to those who want to participate, don't make it required then not protect them. Long story short, going to Q is worth it. She will hear what you want and give it to you. But be sure that it IS what you want. The management was not kind and I simply don't trust them. Fantasy has one of the best selections in the valley with great prices. While their management needs SERIOUS work, their dresses and stylists are worth it. Had I not had to deal with the nasty manager, I would have given a perfect 5 star review. read more

For starters, it was going okay. The girl helping us was very sweet and I could tell she had good intentions from the beginning. I showed her my Pinterest hoping that would help get to the ideas I had quicker. The dresses she picked weren't bad, but they didn't fit my "medium girly" size the way they should. Ladies, please don't go to Fantasy Bridal. I bought a dress here that I thought was beautiful. The sample I tried on ALMOST fit. The team measured me and ordered it two sizes up. But when the dress arrived, it fit me so much worse than the sample had. It was so tight it couldn't be zipped -- which was in direct contradiction to what I was told when we ordered it. The team had said repeatedly, "we'll have to take the waist way in." Well no, we couldn't even get the waist zipped. I hadn't gained any weight, in fact I had lost weight. I stood there awkwardly in the dress for long periods of time while everyone tried to figure out a solution. The seamstress tried her best, but at the end of the appointment said to me in a skeptical voice, "Well I hope I can turn this into something good." I didn't leave feeling very confident. I was heartbroken. As a plus size bride, feeling comfortable and beautiful on my wedding day was one of the most important things to me. That's why I went to Fantasy Bridal in the first place. But I was misled by positive Google reviews and their marketing. I decided to eat the cost of the dress and make an appointment to find a new one -- deciding to trust the shop even though they had clearly ordered the wrong size for me, and misled me significantly about alterations. I found a second dress. The consultant who worked with me was amazing. I prioritized a dress that didn't need to be altered much, one that felt comfortable and had enough support. I was told by the team, who factored this in to my payment, that the alterations would not be extensive. I went back a week later to have the second dress altered and things took a very sharp turn. A new seamstress was working with me and the first thing she said was about adding a "modesty" panel to cover up part of my body. I didn't ask for that, nor did I want it. If I feel comfortable with my body, it doesn't seem acceptable to imply that I should not be. Throughout the appointment she made several more negative comments about my body and "areas we need to cover." We also needed the help of the same consultant who sold me the dress, because the seamstress was not listening to what I was asking for. By the end of the appointment, we had decided on several things. I wanted a nude tulle piece replaced with opaque material to match the sleeves. I did NOT want cups added. The seamstress pinned the hem several inches too high and refused to repin it so she made me guess how many inches I would add to it. I accepted that, paid, made an appointment for two weeks before my wedding -- the soonest she would allow me to make it -- and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, when I went back to the next appointment, the seamstress had not done what we talked about. As soon as I put on the dress, I knew it had been ruined. The flattering, supportive features that were the reason I had chosen it were gone. The seamstress had added cups, despite an extensive conversation about how I did not want them. She replaced the nude tulle piece with an ivory tulle piece, which was not what we talked about, and also something I did not want. The dress didn't fit. I couldn't help but cry as I stood while a manager, a seamstress and two training employees fussed over my body as I looked in the mirror at myself in a frumpy dress. The seamstress kept insisting she had taken a photo at our first appointment together but she couldn't find the photo. I remember that appointment clearly. It was a primary source of stress for me for a month. She never took a photo. She never asked for a photo. But she lied to my face about that and to her manager, as she lied about how I wanted cups and how we hadn't talked about the other things. I should have listened to my intuition when I knew she was not paying attention to what I was saying during the first appointment and just left. I made the wrong choice by choosing to trust this shop. The shop insisted they could fix the dress, but as I had already paid for alterations and been told what alterations would happen, and then had something completely different happen, I did not trust the shop. I also did not want anymore experiences with this seamstress who had repeatedly lied to me and made me feel horrible about my body and the most important day of my life. I was a loyal customer -- returning repeatedly, even after having bad experiences. I spent around $5,000 here between the alterations, both dress and two veils. I asked that the shop refund the price of the alterations that had been botched, the minimum they could do to make this right after I was told I was paying for one thing, and then did not get that thing. The shop refused, were unkind, lied again, and did not accept any blame for the mistakes they made. I don't believe people should patronize businesses who treat customers this way. At the very least, do not do alterations here, but I'd recommend staying very far away altogether. read more

I purchased my wedding dress from Fantasy Bridal in 2022. I had no idea what kind of cut I wanted, so the stylist picked a variety of looks for me to try on. She helped me narrow down my tastes as I went until I felt confident about a couple different looks--ones that surprised me, because I probably wouldn't have chosen them off the rack. I then went to a few other bridal shops and found the customer service lacking. I finished up at David's Bridal, which was abysmal service without the low prices to match. However, I did find a dress that I really liked...except the quality was awful. I loved the service at Fantasy Bridal, so I went back there to ask if they had something similar. Luckily, they had received a dress that morning that was a couple hundred dollars more, but the quality was far and away higher. The problem? I was a 14 and it was size 20. The attendant (a different one from the original person) assured me it would be no probem to get it taken, but when I showed it to the seamstress, she was taken aback that they would sell me something 3 sizes too big. In the end, the seamstress worked wonders and I felt incredible when I walked down the aisle. Fantasy Bridal is a mixed bag. The service is fantastic. The prices are high, but not sky high. Then there is the bit about the alterations -- I don't know what to make of that. Was it a one-off or a reflection of their sales tactics? I'm really not sure. What I do know is that my sister-in-law just got engaged and the #1 place I recommended was Fantasy. I suggest going there, doing a little shopping around, and decided if you want to buy from them. Just remember that all bridal shops are first-come-first-served and it can take months to order a dress, so if you can make a bunch of appointments all back-to-back, you're less at risks for missing the dress you fall in love with if you don't put the money down the second you see it. read more

I only went to two bridal shops to look for a dress, one in Dallas (before I moved to SLC), and this one where I said yes to the dress!! Fantasy Bridal has an awesome selection of varied, beautiful dresses. I like how the shop is set up to easily find dresses you might like based on your budget and style. Mimi was my consultant and she was great. She quickly learned what I liked and didn't like and was very patient with me (and my mom's strong opinions). I never felt pressured and she respected my budget. We were stuck between two dresses and she had no problems helping me try on both dresses each a couple of times. She called over another consultant to give her opinion between the two dresses who was also Vietnamese. She shared her opinion with us in Vietnamese, which I think was a big plus for my mom, and we ended up buying the dress she liked better :) After we decided on the dress, Mimi had to tend to her next customers, but the manager of the store patiently helped us choose some accessories. You get 20% off of the accessories if you buy them the same day you buy your dress, so I ended up buying my veil and headpiece there as well :) The manager (sorry I forgot her name!) found us many veils that were similar to the one I liked while trying on the dress, but way less money. So we got one for less than half the price of the original one! I'm super excited to see my dress with all my accessories in a few months! I had a great experience finding my dress, but that is where the great experience ends. You can get 20% off accessories, but only if you order your wedding dress at your first appointment. If you wait even 24 hrs., only 10% discount. Ok, a little disappointing, but not a deal breaker. What made me mad was the rest of my experience. I signed a contract to order a size 12. They called me a few days later and said they couldn't order my dress because it was discontinued. They wanted me to pay FULL PRICE for the sample dress that was a size 10. When I explained I didn't want to pay more for alterations, they said I would have to pay for alterations either way so No discount. My body measurements are a size 12. Yes I would need to adjust the straps, but modifying the size 10 would be more expensive. Ok can you discount my veil or give me ANY discount because you want me to buy a dress that is too small? Nope. They don't do discounts on dresses because you're already getting a good price. I ended up having to talk to the manager and we worked something out. Found out 3 weeks later they had a sale that was 20% off sample dresses. Ok so you're willing to give other people discounts, but you don't want to give me a discount on a dress that is not even the right size!?!! At my first appointment they told me I could make payments on the dress, later they told me if you want to make payments there is a 1 time fee. One person told me I would need to pick up the dress & bring it back for alterations, another person told me if I wanted, they could keep the dress in the store and I could get it after alterations. The story seemed to change depending on who you talk to. With all the issues I had after signing the contract, I can not recommend. read more

DO NOT BUY HERE! someone said the good service stops after the first appointment, and that is 100% true. 1. i am shorter so they told me i should order my dress in shorter. they had me sign a paper and explained where it would hit with the new length on me. either the dress was made shorter than it was supposed to or the worker didn't explain the height properly, but now i am left with a wedding dress too short for me. 2. when i came in to pick up my dress after it was ordered, they realized they ordered the wrong color for my veil. the same worker said she would order it in the proper color and i can come pick it up later. at my last fitting when i asked to pick up the veil i had to wait for 30+ minutes because they didn't have it ready. i honestly think they forgot to order it and gave me someone else's because i had to wait as the pressed and shortened it to the proper length. this place is a complete joke. if you want to limit your wedding stress, literally shop anywhere else. read more

The customer service was awful and they were not attentive to my needs in regard to altering my dress. there was an issue with my original veil order and they didn't find an amicable solution and we're not honest when I tried to get it fixed. I was told I could come in and swap it for the original veil length that I wanted to order to begin with and they would set it aside for when I came in. When I got there I was told that it was wasn't set aside, And when they finally did find it it was not the right length that I still asked to be swapped out for and finally come to find out that the length of the veil that I wanted isn't even able to be purchased in the length I wanted (which was cathedral length ) I purchased my dress in January from them so I should have been told then that the length I wanted originally for my Veil in that style wasn't available to be ordered. I'm very frustrated that the person who helped me she ordered the wrong length and I called before hand and explained the situation and they were willing to swap it out but when I came in I find out this. My wedding is in three weeks so I had to settle with something else that I wouldn't have originally wanted but due to them altering my dress I wouldn't have been able to take my dress to find another veil that would go with it somewhere else. Then my original dress fitting date was put down for the wrong date and time than what I originally had scheduled for so I had to reschedule another dress fitting appointment then when I went to my fitting the lady that helped me was not very friendly she seemed very annoyed whenever I asked any questions or if I should do this or that to my dress being that I am not a seamstress and this is my very first wedding I have no idea what I'm doing. So me asking questions wasn't me trying to be annoying but rather understand what I should do my dress or what I shouldn't do to my dress in their opinion. I loved this bridal shop! I went to five bridal boutiques in the SLC metro to find my dress; this one was a great experience. Alitzah was a great consultant to work with. She followed up after my appointment, too. This was the only shop I went to that gave you a slip to wear, it helped the dresses lay so nicely. They have a large selection of dresses and section them by coverage (LDS styles on one side, "contemporary" on the other; there's also a great "boho" section). Their price range is approximately $900-2,000. They separate that out, too! A $1,000 and under section (including some beautiful as-is dresses for great prices), and then the $1,000+ side. This made it easy to search for what you want without budget temptations. Even though I've already picked my dress (from a different shop) I find myself missing this shop and wanting to go back- it was fun, and the dresses are really pretty! read more

DON'T GO HERE! Prepared to be treated like a number when you go here and be pressured to get a dress you don't love. The girl who was helping me will remain nameless, but she was the absolute worst! She was horrible from the start of our appointment. It was just me and my mom (who flew in from CA to help me look at dresses). The consultant asked my style and I gave her a bit of background. Then we decided to pull dresses. She had major attitude and I felt like she was supposed to leave but managers asked her to stay for my appointment. The entire appointment was rushed and she's get pissed if I didn't like a dress she pulled. Finally, I tried on a bodysuit with beading and I was concerned that you could see the beading through the skirt. She told me, "Don't worry just put a slip on and you won't even be able to tell!" So we went back to the dressing room and I put the slip on and yup, obviously you could still see the beading and I pointed it out to her. She said, "Well yeah, but it's not THAT bad." Not that bad?!? This is my wedding day!! She leaned against the mirror the entire appointment a d seemed uninterested. Ignored questions my mom had and never fluffed my dress even though I saw other consultants doing that with their brides. I asked my consultant if I could try on a veil (it was my first time trying them on, so I wasn't sure what I wanted). She tried two and I wasn't a fan of either. After I said I didn't like the second one she got pissed and said, "Why don't YOU just pick?!" Since when are consultants so defensive if you don't like something? They're not the designer! Go here if you don't want to be taken care of and feel like a bride. Other consultants seemed cooler, but they all seemed to lack knowledge. A real disappointment. Go to The Bride Store in salt lake. I went in with my daughter yesterday and was greeted by a snarky, rude assistant who gave me a disgusted look for not knowing the price range of the dresses or what I should be prepared to pay. She also made ignorant comments to my daughter while in the changing room. Another sales girl tried to recover the fiasco, but it was too late for us. We will take our business elsewhere. I was very disappointed in the service I received at Fantasy Bridal. They were rude, and not customer oriented at all. They tried convincing me out of certain gowns I wanted to try on and then when I found something I liked they said they didn't know if they could have it done in time for my bridals or possibly even my wedding day. Then when I had made the decision to not buy a dress from their store they said they would call alterations for me and make sure it could be done in time for me. They also did not seem to know what they were talking about when it came to custom alterations I wanted done. I would not recommend this store. read more

Avoid this place. Yes, it is budget friendly, but no low price tag is worth a poor experience. Shopping for a wedding dress is supposed to be fun and exciting, and your consultant is a big part of making that happen! Mine was snippy and seemed to be offended by any of my honest opinions about gowns or shapes or suggestions. Attitudes aside, the place itself is a little crammed, especially because there were about 5 other brides with an appointment at the same time as mine. Rather than just wearing a slip, they also gave me two other things to wear under my dresses, resulting in me feeling frumpy and thicker - two things not ideal for a wedding dress search. read more

I had excellent experiences at Fantasy Bridal. I booked an appointment the week of Thanksgiving 2014 for my first look at wedding gowns. Since my family was in from out of town, I had a large group of people with me (Mom, sisters, niece). I let me attendant know of any concerns I had as well as my budget and what I was looking for. She did a great job picking out gowns for me to try on, being a support for me when family pushed/pressured and generally assisting me. I never felt rushed and we were there for at least 2 hours. It was somewhat difficult for me as my late Grandmother made my sisters' wedding gowns and so I was a bit emotional due to that. The owner, also a seamstress, came out and spoke to me as I was trying to decide and offered me kind words and it seemed to be just what I needed to make my decision. I picked my gown out that day. I didn't need to order it as I bought it on sale off the rack but it still needed some alterations. I will say, I would have preferred someone call me to let me know when I should be scheduling alterations. I called 6 weeks out and found out that I would have to pay a rush fee to ensure it would be in time. Having not bought a wedding gown before, I didn't have a clue about alterations & the timeline. I got in easily for my next appointment and again, those assisting me were very helpful. The dress was finished much faster than I expected, even faster than the date they gave. I went in for my final fitting and there were a few issues that they needed to fix. Luckily, they fixed them on the spot & I was able to take my dress home that day. I also bought my veil from them. One of the women there was not too welcoming when I entered. She was a little older. I hadn't set up an appointment so she said I could look around but that no one would be able to help me. I felt pretty competent in putting on dresses and looking at myself, so I did without assistance. I found the PERFECT dress and then the woman that helped us to buy the dress, set up a time to hem it, and helped find me the perfect jewelry was amazing! She was so sweet and so helpful! She did everything in her power to help me feel like I was getting ready for the biggest, most wonderful day of my life. I just got my wedding dress from here last month. I went to about 5 different stores - ALL had different vibes. I went to some stores that were super expensive and some moderately priced, so obviously you get what you pay for. I thought this was a great middle of the price range store. I went to some stores that were super cheap (and you could tell by their dresses) and I went to some stores that were super expensive (over $5,000 - didn't care too much about the price - I just wanted to find my "perfect" dress. I was recommended to this store by my sister in-law and her dress was gorgeous. anyway - I had to fix my dress to fit me. anyway, I went to this store first - found a dress I liked and then after going to about 5 different stores, (to make sure there wasn't a better dress) I came back and found my perfect dress! I live in California, and was getting married in Salt Lake and had a LOT of alterations - every time I flew back, I stopped in - I told them I wanted beige under the lace at the top - they did exactly what I told them, but I ended up not liking it - so they changed it. After coming back a few more times (which was hard since I was coming in from another state) they finished my drerss and I LOVEEEEED how my dress turned out. I thought this place was amazing. awesome prices, great help - I do wish they had gave me suggestions on the alterations because I'm not a designer and know nothing about dresses - so the first time, I told them to put "skin color" under the sleeves and it looked like I had plopped random sleeves on a strapless dress (yuck) but i told them to do that - so it was my fault... and then when I wanted it fixed they did a greaaaaaaat job! She hyped me up in all the gowns but was honest about what looked and fit me best. I'm so glad I had such a great experience buying my dream wedding gown. I had the most wonderful experience at Fantasy Bridal. Their selection of dresses is unmatched. Avery was my Bridal Consultant and she was so kind and patient with me. She chose dresses based on my preferences and vision and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. I kept going back to one of dresses (the ONE!) in the shop and she was so patient with me as I went back and forth with it trying it on multiple times. When we checked out we worked with Ashley and she was so efficient and sweet. She was able to order me a brand new version of the dress to pick up in plenty of time for my wedding. They were able to honor a promotion that was happening a few days after our appointment. Then today I came home to a lovely hand-written thank you note from Avery in my mailbox. This shop truly knows the meaning of "above and beyond". I would recommend this shop to any bride and I can't wait to go back to Fantasy Bridal to pick up my dream dress! read more

I am so disappointed in this facility. My best friend is getting married in 16 DAYS; the staff has continuously bungled her wedding dress. This is the THIRD time that she's having to return it. Every girl dreams of her wedding day, and for her dress to not be as perfect as she is proves the mismanagement going on in this store. If there is another mistake this confirms how incompetent this bridal shop really is. read more
