I have liked H&M more in other cities. This location is smallish with not a great selection and even fewer "real women" sizes. I was surprised on opening day there was a line with a bouncer and a DJ only letting a few people in at a time. In the many months since then, it's mostly dead all the time. I do love their tween clothes for my daughter. They have very cute, not overly sexualized outfits and accessories for that age group. It really bugs me when I see people in supervisory positions boss around their minions in front of customers, and there is one boss lady who is ruthless and does this openly in the store. I felt so bad for the associates having to put up with her barking that I almost told her to shut up myself. read more

Typical H&M retail store. My issue is that the line for purchases went from 2 poeple to about 10 and there was only 1 open register and another girl on the phone not ringing people up and there were associates throughout the store. Is there a rating below 1 star? This store would get it. My daughter arrived at the store 15 minutes before it closed. She knew what she wanted, grabbed it and went to check out and they would not allow her to make her purchase. It was something she needed for her wedding the next day. She left in tears. I've been managing retail stores for 15 years.I have never heard of any business being too lazy to take money and offending a customer along the way. Worst experience at any retail store period. This H&M is HUGE & located at Fashion Place mall. You can access the H&M without even going in the mall so if you just want to hit up the h&m it's easy enough to do. This location is two or three stories and the upper stories are all for little children style. I've gotten super cute items here and they seem to have good deals for everything including women and mens clothing which is awesome and not to mention convenient! It can get crowded here around the holidays and weekends depending when you decide to stop by, and since Fashion Place is expanding and adding more stores and restaurants there can be somewhat of a wait in line when shopping here. read more

Fall and winter 2012 at H and M is gangbusters!! As a semi-regular H and M shopper over the years, I usually don't make many purchases here. Until now!! The designers really got it right this time. There are gorgeous waffle weave cashmere sweaters for 70 dollars. A sale is going on right now for angora blend cardigans and puckered shoulder crew necks for 20 dollars in gorgeous colors like mint, mango, fuschia and pistachio. Wear them for one season and your money has already been well spent! I recently picked up a pouffy dusty rose pleather skirt that is the bomb. Today I got two long sleeve lace dresses with full skirt, and two PERFECT for travelling black polyester bubble skirt tank dresses. I never usually buy stuff here, but there is a very good collection going on. If you haven't visited the H and M in a while, now is the time. Try not to go on the weekends as the lines to check out are stupid long. Their super low skinny jeans in metallic black are so flattering, even for us "old folks." To boot, the cashiers have personality and smiles for everyone! read more

My friend and I went to stand in line to get in yesterday and it was fun. It was really crowded since they had just opened a couple days ago, but the wait, shop, stay in line to pay only took us about an hour, so it was not too bad. I used to go to the H&M in Las Vegas, so that was what I had to compare to. This store seems organized and very tidy. Friendly and fast service. Very good shopping experience. There were not as many merchandise in this store as the one in Vegas. I hope next time I go they will have more stuff. But I still like the store. read more

Went to this H & M yesterday with some friends. We were excited cuz there was supposed to be a big 50% off deal starting yesterday. Unfortunately they started the sale a week early on accident so there was nothing much to choose from. It's a nice, two story location. Second floor is mainly baby stuff which was adorable. I see what ppl mean by there not being much variety here. I've been to other locations and easily found many things id like to buy. I'm sure they're bringing in new stuff after the sale. read more

I've shopped at H&M several times since they opened this location at the Fashion Place Mall. Maybe it's just me but the clothes at H&M are not my style. I don't care for most of their men's clothing or the women's clothing really. Which is too bad because the prices are reasonable and the quality seems good. The stores are kept up pretty well and mostly organized. But if it's crowded it can feel somewhat claustrophobic. read more

I usually love H&M but for some reason have not found anything I like at this particular location. The selection is obviously smaller than the one at City Creek, but in every other city I've lived in (San Diego, DC, Edinburgh) I can always find something good and decent priced at H&M. Why does H&M sell sets but one half in stores and the other half online only? This has happened with a bikini set and now with a Halloween costume. I tried for 4 days to order the bottom half but had trouble with the phone number format. Now it's too late to order the leggings unless I pay twice as much for next day shipping. Ugh! My wife and I went on a date to the opening- we've loved their clothes and prices. Unfortunately in addition to some new clothes we also discovered that the new stockings my wife purchase came with bed bugs! We generally wash all new purchases, but my wife discovered this after wearing the leggings and washed then on an impulse. I've always thought H&M was a pretty cool store--ever since I first stumbled upon it in NYC 9 years ago and blew all my travel money on maternity clothes for myself and baby clothes for the then unborn. I have since visited locations in St. Louis, Dallas, and Los Angeles, each time coming home with some great additions to the wardrobe. I've always liked it, but never quite saw it in the light that I did on opening day here in Utah. Security guards for crowd control?!? A mile-long line that extended outside? What is this, the Apple Store? Okay, H&M's a pretty big deal I guess. .......just....no. I went to try on clothes at this H&M store at fashion place mall and it took a long time just to get into one of the fitting rooms. I was waiting patiently and was not upset. I saw someone come out of a fitting room and because the H&M employee working that fitting room was ignoring customers going in and out i decided to go in and see which one was free. Because all the fitting room curtains were closed i didnt know which one the previous customer left out of. When i turned around to ask someone which fitting room was available (because i dont want to walk in on a half naked person) the employee says to me "well just wait then." With a filthy attitude. I ended up just leaving the clothes i tried on in the fitting room because i shouldnt feel as though i have to pay to be treated poorly at a store. read more

I've lived on the East Coast and was excited to hear that an H&M would be opening in Utah because I recently moved back here. I had a store credit to use from the Pittsburgh store, so I had the perfect excuse to drive out there and spend the afternoon. Disappointment is an understatement. if you had blind folded me on the way in, I would have had no idea I was in an H&M. It was more like a bad Charlotte Russe. Everything was super-basic, Tween-style and they had a tiny selection. From the outside, you'd think this place is huge, but the entire top half is kids and babies stuff which leaves the whole bottom floor to be split between men and women's departments. In Pittsburgh, the Teenage/basic/beachy stuff is on the bottom floor but upstairs is all high fashion/ more sophisticated looks. This Women's department in Murray Utah was like the worst of the East Coast store's teenage/basic stuff with half the selection- not much at all of the classy business styles, dinner dresses and suits. I only found ONE thing that wouldn't look stupid on a 29 year old business woman and it wasn't my size. It appears that other gals like me are buying up all the actual nice looking stuff or they just are not ordering any of the higher fashion/mature stuff at all. Either way, I hope they get the hint soon. I'd rather buy online and pay shipping than wear what they have. read more

It opened last 11/11/11. I tried to go on Saturday but the long queue made me just take a look from outside. I could see everything tidy, the shop was not full, they were controlling how many people was inside to make it easier their shopping. There was a DJ playing commercial music and several security guards. I liked the colthes that I saw, I could recognize Versace's collection, as they anounced for this winter. I was a fan of H&M in Spain. I never had problems finding my size (in Europe sizes are usually smaller than here), I loved their collections, the casual but elegant style, able to combine in my dayly life with my night life. The most important thing for me it was the fact that the shop assitants were people like me, not super fashion ultra made up girls with sensational bodies, but real people who could understand what I was exactly looking for. I can't wait to see how is an H&M in SLC, I hope it is the same I liked!! read more

I've been looking for this top at several locations and they had the size I needed but it was on the mannequin. It wasn't in the window or a mannequin that was inconvenient to get to... It would have taken 2 seconds (Ive worked in retail my whole life I could have done it myself!) The "manager" refused to take it off. Then made up so story about why he couldn't. Not only that he was an asshole the entire time while speaking to me. Homie you work at H&M there's no need to act like you're better than. Yes it's a cheap shirt and it's not a big deal, it's more the way I was treated for asking. ZERO customer service or common decency. read more

My 5 year old daughter was lost and I looked for her for over 10 minutes before I really started to panic. She wandered off looking for her coat and I let an associate know I couldn't find her as I'd run back and forth and didn't see or hear her calling my name. I let the employee know but he was clearly clocked out and headed home, he grabbed someone right away and told them I had lost my daughter in the store. That employee asked me a few questions to get a good description of her and acted as though he knew exactly what to do. Before I knew it, other employees were running to the exits/entrances to keep anyone from leaving or entering the store. I could tell each employee was concerned and some parents volunteered to help me look for her. Within seconds, there was a group of employees and other parents calling for her and the entire store was aware of what was going on. They acted quickly and with great concern for my little girl. One employee ended up finding her shortly after, but I was very impressed with how fast and efficient they were in a time of crisis. read more

First, HIRE more register associates. The three times (don't know why we went back after the first time) we've shopped here there has always been about 3 associates working. With lines that take 15 minutes to check out because there is only one associate at the register. Oh and one upstairs with the same type of line. I'm not a fan of the styles here, nor the store layout but I know, even from this simple mind, that if you want make money you actually have to have employees there to take money. I was misinformed by an employee regarding return policy. Upon trying to return the merchandise I was told that I could not. The employee who gave me the erroneous information told the store manager that he had mistakenly assured me that I could in fact return the clothing (which was unworn, had tags attached and I had the original receipt). The manager still would not refund my money. The employee made a mistake and was very apologetic. The one star rating reflects the managers refusal to rectify the mistake. read more

I went to shop here and found my experience to be majorly lacking. After finishing my shopping I went to check out, there were two cashiers at the desk both of whom were folding clothes. Now I realize there are tasks that need to be completed and typically I don't mind waiting when people are working. HOWEVER, neither one of these cahiers looked up or acknowledged my existence. I would have been fine waiting if one had said something like "we will be right with you". But without this, I became rather annoyed that they felt folding clothes was more important than me making purchases. I began to time how long it would take for them to help me, it was 2 min and 13 seconds before the girl even glanced my way. When she felt ready to help me, she rudely said "next" and then maintained a side conversation with her coworker about someone's dating life while checking me out. She said nothing to me the entire transaction, shoved my bag at me and said "is that all?". No "have a nice day" or "thanks for your patience". I very nearly dropped what I was holding and left. Side Note: wear what you want and all but I really don't want to practically see nipple and your breasts making an escape while I'm trying to shop. You're at work, a place of business, you are representing a company, show some class and don't have a top that laces itself together and becomes undone throughout the day. Customer service isn't THAT hard, be nice to the customers, be willing to help quickly, focus on the person in front of you until they leave, and don't look like a baby prostitute while you do it. read more

Never have I ever received such HORRIBLE customer service before. H&M's "manager" isn't only dismissive, but she is down right rude. And unfortunately, today wasn't the first encounter I have had with this woman. The past Friday I bought over $250 worth of clothing at H&M and the manager failed to remove a security tag from a pair of jeans. Today, when I went back to the store to have the manager fix the problem she caused, she refused to take the security tag off the pants because I didn't have my receipt. I told her I had the card I bought the pants on but she wouldn't accept that as a credible source of payment. She spoke to me like I was a child and for a lack of a better word... an idiot. After reminding her that the tag being on the pants was HER fault, she made a "one time exception". I honestly was so offended that someone would basically accuse me of stealing a pair of $20 jeans due to a security tag that, one again, was her fault for being on the pants in the first place. I will be sure to remind family and friends who decide to shop at H&M to stay away from the store manager who in my opinion has absolutely no right to be the manager of a store. read more
