Even if appointment is scheduled, they will take their favorites ahead of you. Very rude staff at this location, don't have proper training and start making excuses for their poor job. read more

I called to see if they could reschedule, they said they didn't have availability so I kept my appointment . More than four years of loyal customer of David, the manager of this shop, I am really disappointed because I am discriminated by a woman hairdresser and David, the manager accused me that I am a racist only to cover up his employee's lies. Just before Arizona shut down due to Corona virus, I went there to have my hair cut. David was sick and could not come to his shop that a blond woman cut my hair, instead. She kept asking whether I am sick and working at home. Apparently she was worried what if I have Corona virus maybe because I am an Asian. I told her that I am not sick and I am not Chinese and I have been here in the US for more than 13 years. Still she was very reluctant to touch my hair and she flew over my hair cut. It turned out the worst hair cut ever. After hair cut, I texted to David to talk about this discrimination and mistreatments. David answered he will look into the case and talk with the blond woman. So I expected he would do something. Around two months later, I came back to his shop and he started blaming me that the woman hairdresser denied any discriminative actions and there is nothing he would do. I was upset. Later David accused me a racist in the end because I could not accept her excuse. Turned out that she was from Iran and David accused that I was discriminating her because of her origin. Guess who was discriminated and who is telling lies!? Though almost five years of loyal customer of David, I am very much disappointed with him. I understand he wanted to protect his hairdresser that he just accepted her lies. However, by trying to protect her, he lost my years of loyalty. It is time to move on. Even though his hair cutting skill is great, he does not deserve loyal customers. I will never come back. read more

It's really sad to walk into any service establishment to be greeted with a frown; like you are a pain in the ass for coming in. 11 am, One person doing a color/style and the disrespectful greeter to say we can get you maybe around 12...no, maybe 2 pm is good. Everyone was nice and friendly, but my hair stylist didn't know how to cut my hair properly... Showed a picture of what I wanted and my hair cut was messed up pretty badly. It was cut so awkwardly, afterwards I noticed a small patch of hair was totally missed on the side and looks nothing like the simple picture. Was alittle worried when a lady came in while I was in the chair saying her hair wasn't cut evenly on both sides. I cut hair better than this in college with beard trimmers. First, I'm a guy. So I get a "haircut". I don't get waves, tones, highlights, frosts, or anything else weird. I get a haircut. So I cannot comment on any of the weird stuff people want done to their hair. With Sam's you show up, get on the list, and when it's your turn you get one of the "stylists" at random (whoever finished their last client when it was your turn). I have no idea if you can request someone, but it doesn't seem like it. Which this time was fine since I've never been in this shop before! My cutter (hey, I don't do "styles") was a nice, friendly young lady. Not too chatty, but a little. She asked how long I wanted it, the ears, and the sideburns. And then off she goes. When she was done most of my hair was on the floor, and what remained on my head was how I wanted it. As a bonus she then washed it saying it was included with the service. So then I wasn't dropping lots of little hairs everywhere as I went home! When I come back if I see my cutter working that day I guess I'll find out if I can request or not. The lady didn't do the color I asked for on my 12 year old daughters head. She also bleached it to the point it turned platinum when she told me she only needed to do it minimally being she's never had her hair dyed before. When we left there was dye all over her neck, ears, forehead and cheeks. When I called to make an appointment the lady on the phone said we would be good to get in at 4 after I explained what she wanted done, and she would be done by 6, we weren't done until 730 and that didn't include a haircut just an even trim and to get it straight. Pictures below of what color I wanted what she got oh and was also told not to wash her hair for 48 hours bc I believe she knew she did the wrong color. And after 5 washes. They are nice and act like they know what they are doing but be cautious you won't really get exactly what you ask for. read more

Ummm really disappointed in a woman named Jeanette. She got done doing her haircut, The customer paid and, she was still standing at the register when I had asked her for two tokens for the ball machine for my son to get a ball. She replies saying "can you wait until the haircuts are done?" First of all, SHE WAS DONE WITH THE HAIR CUT SHE WAS DOING secondly, for god knows why she couldn't get 2 tokens while she was standing there! Came in today to fix my hair because my last lady at a different place really messed it up. Brooke took wonderful care of me and really listened to what I wanted and was talkative and cheerful throughout my visit! Will definitely be making this my hair salon from now on. Worst place ever! The lady washed and shampoos my daughter's hair then proceeded to hand me a comb while telling me "Its not my job to comb your daughter's hair!" And if that wasn't enough, Kiley cut my hair so bad that they're using my picture as a training tool. I have since, went to a reputable salon, in the hopes they could do something. I used to go tothe germann location for years. There was a female there that wasn't very nice to me, but I just put up with it because the location was convenient. Then one day I went in and she was there along with a new lady. I was telling the new one how I like my hair cut and she shut me down quickly and proceeded to lecture me on how she wants to give a good haircut but can't if I'm stressed. Hello? Not stressed! anyone new doing my hair has to be aware of a hole I get in the thin part of my hair. I switched to the Arizona Ave location and the girls are so much nicer! read more

Called for a color today because website said they close at 8 and Manager told me they close at 6 on a Wednesday. This is the 2nd time I have tried to get into this location and he always has a reason of why he can't see a customer around the end of day.. Been going for two years and always had a decent cut. Went in and had an inch taken off and have my layers touched up. My layers look awful. It looks like a two year old got ahold of my hair and butchered it. If you are going in for a simple cut then you will be fine. Anything like layers..stay away. read more

Not sure why this place has such negative reviews. They cut my hair and my children's hair. I tell them how to cut it, and they always do it well. And the best part, at least for guys, you get a free hair wash with every haircut! As soon as we walk in, we are always greeted with a smile and, so far, the most we ever had to wait is only a couple minutes. We could be just lucky or maybe they are over staffed...it doesn't matter as long as we are in and out of there quickly. For the children's hair, we used to go to those "kids only" hair places. Do yourself a favor and save your $18 for a 2 minute haircut and come here--way cheaper. Especially if you bring their coupons they send out in the Valpak. I would say the only downside of this place is the pushing of hair products. After every haircut they bring you over to the small shelving area to show you which hair procuct they used. It's all pretty expensive, but for a cheaper haircut I'm willing to listen and kindly say "no thanks." I can't speak from a woman's perspective since my wife has never been here, but for kids and guys, it's a quick and cheap place to get a haircut. read more

David is the best hair stylist I have ever been to! I can show him a photo or just verbalize what I sort of want and then just trust that he will make me look beautiful. I trust his opinion so much and every time I let him have creative control he delivers and makes it 100 x better than I could have ever imagined on my own. He is professional, kind, and so much fun to talk to. Not to mention how sweet everyone is there as I usually have multiple conversations with all of them and truly love the atmosphere that is produced. read more

Fantastic experience at Fantastic Sams! I saw on one of their ads they now take appointments which was great news because I don't like to wait. I called the day before and booked my appointment, when I arrived, I was taken as soon as the stylist was ready. She gave me a great consultation and even shampooed my hair twice before and after the service! One of the best haircuts I have ever had and I love that I was in and out within 30 minutes! Made an appointment and arrived 10 minutes early. Everything was clean and the staff were all wearing masks. Was greeted and seated right away. I was so lucky to have David do my hair! Absolutely FANTASTIC! From the start I was more than happy with how he was doing the foils, the color, and the cut... I am absolutely pleased! NEVER GO TO THIS SALON!!!! A few weeks ago I attempted to go in and get my hair trimmed. I sat with my stylist and told her what I would like done and when we got up to go shampoo my hair the stylist one seat over decided to put her blow dryer on full blast and blew the kids hair off of him and directly in my fave with little to no remorse!! I became upset about the situation that had occurred especially since all of the staff seemed to not really care at all... As if it was just a normal occurrence in their work place. When I asked to speak to a manager (or someone with better business practices) I was passed around between the immature, unprofessional , gossipy girls that were working that day and ended being asked to leave... Phoenix and David were absolutely amazing with my toddler. They were both very patient and went above and beyond to help keep my tot calm.

I just wanted to say how great the staff is at this location. This is the only location that cuts my sons hair correctly. The manager is great and is one of the few people I trust to cut my sons hair. Even went to another FS out of convenience and they butchered his hair. I just don't understand how they just can't figure out how to cut boys hair so it grows properly. I've been to multiple companies and each one made a mess of his head- great clips was the absolute worst. I go out of my way to get the kids hair cut here. They are friendly and the location is clean and well kept. The kids know the staff by name and love the balls and lollipops! They collect the balls and trade them. Wow, stay away. I too had highlights the older lady with an accent, she is not Hispanic but looks/sounds so. I heard good things about Chi hair color and decided to give this salon a try for the first time. Big, mistake. I was left with pachuka/orange colored highlights and she left tiger stripes/bleeds on my part and I had to ask her to remove them, she wasn't going to do it herself, lazy. Also I found more bleeds and asked her to fix them and she said that the toner would cover them. She was wrong. Very inexperienced and needs to go back to beauty. school. read more

Not quite sure what is"fantastic" about this place. No online check-in; no appointments; and can't even call-in. I tried to call-in on my way there, and the receptionist said the only way to get my name on the list is to show up and sit in their waiting room for 35 minutes! Haircut was OK. As usual the stylist tried to sell me a $5 bottle of gel for $15 (I'd rather buy it on Amazon.com). This place is on par with Great Clips and Supercuts, but the price tag Fantastic Sam's is higher. read more

Been getting my hair cut here for years. The staff are all friendly. I always ask for Brody or Rebecca if they are available as they are the most consistent with my hair. Bonus....they shampoo your hair afterwards, which is huge for me since I get all those little hairs on my neck that's irritating even on a short ride home. read more

I received several haircuts here before and have been able to just walk in and get cut by anyone and leave very satisfied...until yesterday. I received this trim by an older Hispanic lady with broken English and thought something was wrong when she was done in like 5 minutes. Come to find out I've been waking around with a busted haircut for almost an entire day. I was checking out the back of my hair in the mirror and noticed it's not even cut straight!!! It was just a simple trim, maybe 1-2 inches. Wow, never going back again after this experience. Horrible. read more
