I got a partial highlight and haircut from Bridget Drury - my first time with her, and she did an amazing job! I wanted a fresh brightened look for a new start (as I'm moving) and she went above and beyond to take the time and care to give me a look that I was really happy with. She was very sweet, kind, and attentive, and I love the cut she gave me. It feels so much healthier and I feel so much more confident going into my new home not feeling unkempt! lol I am so grateful for the calming feeling she gave and the great skill she had with both the cut and color! And when I said I don't see why I should pay for this hair cut, hair dresser said she provided a service and therefore I had to pay. The discussion continued for a few minutes. Then I paid and left. While this 100% was an accident, common courtesy to me is to apologize and not charge for it. 10/10 would NOT recommend and will not be going back.

I was originally recommended to Maya, the owner, and she's the one who did my brows on my most recent visit--and she did an amazing job. The other two times, different staff members took care of me, and even then, I had no complaints. Each time, the shaping was clean, flattering, and consistent. They are decently priced--I believe I paid $12 for my eyebrows, plus an additional tip. For the quality of work, I think it's very fair. It would be great if they introduced some sort of membership or rewards program for frequent visitors; that would definitely add value. The only downside is that every time I've gone in, there's only been one person working. The wait can be long, especially during busy hours. It would really help if they hired more staff to keep up with demand. Outside of the wait, though, the results keep me coming back. If you're thinking about trying them out, I definitely recommend it--just try to go early or during off-peak hours if you're in a rush!

I went to Unique on a Friday at about 1:00, and it was busy. It was about a 20-minute wait, but there was only one lady working. She was friendly, quick, and attentive. After each customer, she wiped down the seat and sanitized her hands. She wore gloves and a mask. I wish I would have gotten this lady's name because it was pretty obvious she had a following. Almost all of the customers ahead of me and waiting while I was getting threaded seemed to be regulars. After I was threaded, the lady trimmed my brows, applied aloe for the potential redness and irritation, and then filled in my brows with some brow powder since she was too busy to give me a brow tint. Honestly, I thought the powder filler was a really nice touch. I don't know where she learned how to thread, but it's as if her touch was blessed by fairies or some otherworldly entity because she was so gentle. I didn't feel the thread raking across my skin, and I didn't tear up as the hair was being pulled out. I could barely feel a thing. This woman was a threading ninja. Pro tip: I was told they are always busy from noon to 2:00, and then 5:00 and after, so plan accordingly if you don't want to wait.

The final straw was when I was leaving she said I owed her $35.00. Not the agreed upon price. I reminded her of the arrangement discussed. Donna complied with hesitation. I gave her $30.00. More than fair I felt. I was told next time it would be $35.00 (plus a tip of course). No worries, I won't be back. Reminder, there was no wash or blow out. Overall I didn't feel listened to. My suggestion to Donna is more listening and less talking by the stylist about everything but what I wanted. I am not looking for a new friend, I just wanted a hair cut similar to my request. Final thought, she recommended getting a trim every three weeks. I am not made of money, I am on disability and that is a silly recommendation Especially after I told you I am Lucky to go every eight weeks. She was trying to push for a follow up.

Here is why: First, the salon is very relaxing, well-appointed, yet unpretentious. Stacy is the owner and has a gift for hair design and for running a business, too. Stacy is specially trained by Ouidad to cut curly hair and does an exceptional job. Every time. My daughter initially came as a companion and for mother-daughter time, but has been delighted by Lindsay's talent for both styling hair and eyebrow waxing. She also discovered Angela, the nail technician and her meticulous mani/pedis. She is an expert gel nail provider. The customer service at Indigo is unparalleled. I would recommend Indigo, you'll feel like Queen for a Day! And if you have curly hair, you have to allow Stacy the opportunity to cut and style your hair the Ouidad way, it's amazing! One year later...still loving my hair as done by Stacy at Indigo! It's the healthiest in my whole life, thanks to the fabulous cut (4x/year) and the Ouidad products.
