This new shop opened last week and I really wanted to go on opening day but the line was out the door for the entire duration of business hours and I can totally understand why! I had the chance to stop in today and I am so glad I did! We were greeted by the friendliest staff and immediately sparked up a conversation about the premium quality ice cream that they serve. It was really fun to learn that the ice cream is made in Illinois. What I also loved about the shop is that there's no big fan fair, just simple and delicious ice cream and a selection of candy! The shop is small but mighty offering vanilla, chocolate, or twist ice cream in either a cup or cone and sprinkles or no sprinkles! To learn about the history of where the ice cream comes from and the many taste tests it took to finding the perfect sprinkles from Canada, what a fun ice cream date spot. Also the pricing is spot on, you can't go anywhere nowadays to get two regular ice creams with sprinkles for $11! I am so happy that this little shop is now part of the Glen Ellyn downtown scene.

These stations are known for being lame so I of course was skeptical. Has hard to get to hours. They're only open in the mornings on weekdays. I got a whole bean coffee. It's $2.50 for a regular. This is Metropolitan Coffee which is perfectly okay and even better with some of the raw sugar. I also picked up a Blueberry Pastry to bring back. It's about $2 or so. The pastries are apparently made onsite and my lady thought it was quite tasty. Forget about it being in a train station and try it. It's much better than you think. This is good on a train heading to wherever.

There are other things but I'm a vegetarian so I zone out the minute I see "sausage." Vegetarian? They default to a marinara red sauce and vegetable is one of the default slices. I didn't see eggplant parmesan on the menu, but they told me if I ask for it (advance notice would be helpful) they'll make it. Entrees are served hot. The manicotti and lasagna are delicious; the manicotti is not a big pan but a take-out container with two manicotti rolls; will feed one hungry person but wouldn't be enough for two people. Service is still friendly although the space is now a little cramped. The cake and gelato, etc. are still delicious, so I stand by everything I said about dessert in my earlier review.

It was very strange, and we obviously didn't finish it. I maintain that they make good cookies, though, and I'll probably go back for those.
