This place has recently moved locations, and is right in the plaza under the Grainery in downtown…read moreFrankfort. I have been supporting this business for YEARS before they even switched here and I walked out today MORTIFIED. Customer service was GROTESQUE!!! I walked out feeling so unappreciated and so disrespected I was in awe! For starters? The staff is RUDE!!! They hire young kids, it's always young kids working here... probably high schoolers, whatever, who do you really expect to work in an ice cream parlor anyways, right? Regardless. Age is no excuse for poor behavior, lack of basic respect and concept of common courtesy!! On my very many repeated visits to this business over the years I have ALWAYS felt like the staff were judging me... staring and rushing me through my order each and every single time even when I was the only customer in the entire place! Today took the cake though for rudeness. It was my dogs birthday today and my toddler and I walked downtown with him for quite a bit to celebrate. After dinner at a nice restaurant nearby, I figured I would surprise my daughter and add to the "fun." I decided to take them both here for ice cream... they do have "puppy cones" afterall. I bring my daughter and dog through the door and nobody bats an eye. We were the only guests in the place. I walk up to order and my dog has an accident. I cleaned it up and the entire staff behind the counter just stood and STARED and whilst I'm trying to pick up dog mess, are harassing me about what I wanted to order! Could not one of them see a struggling mother in an embarrassing situation and at least share a chuckle over the situation with me? Cardboard boxes are working here, truly! (meaning... NO PERSONALITY!!!) Anyways. So mess cleaned up and order placed (rushed through every step of the way of course), I take my daughter and my dog into a far corner away from everything to eat our ice cream. It was cold (for summer at least) and dark out. It was approximately 8:30pm. My daughter was sitting quietly eating at a table and I was on the floor taking pictures of my dog with his "puppycone." There were no other customers in the place. About four minutes after sitting in our corner this larger old grey haired lady comes from out of the back (never have seen her before) and tells me I have to leave because the dog is not welcome to eat there. She said this in a completely rude manner, as if I was scum beneath her! This is what got me!!! I completely understand if there are rules and policies in place, but why do you have to be RUDE about it, and why do you not enforce them right away? (And now also my toddler is wondering why some woman spoke poorly to us at her favorite ice cream store... THANK YOU!! You guys are dolls working here.) WTF? Why do you NOT have a sign on your door or anywhere in the store stating dogs are unwelcome to eat their puppycones here?! Why when I ordered the puppycone at 8:30pm was I not informed I'd have to take it outside in the cold and dark to eat it?! You decided to inform me AFTER nobody said anything when I initially walked in with him, AFTER I ordered the cone, and after I paid and we made ourselves comfortable? You tell us to get lost after we are sitting quietly in a corner bothering NOBODY??? I could understand if this place had other guests, or if my dog was being loud or a nuisance. Or again if we were informed at any other point in the transaction that we weren't welcome to eat the puppycone in the store. Appalling!! PUT A SIGN UP if you don't want dog guests, and give customers a fair warning when ordering (especially at night when it's dark outside and temperatures are cold!!) that they are allowed to order but not eat here. DISGUSTED!!!! You pushed a single mother with her toddler and dog out into the DARK to eat ice cream?! Not even a patio or one single lit up bench to sit on outside that is any thanks to the store!! RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!! Disgusted and will NEVER be back, after many years of giving them my business and taking family from out of town visiting here? This was HORRIFIC!!! Raffy's ice cream and candy store is less than a block from here and has MUCH better ambience (with a patio and comfortable seating outdoors mind you!) and I will take my business there from now on when in downtown. Shame on you guys for the way you spoke to me!! (Also to boot: when I inquired what was in the puppycone, I was told that it was literally just a scoop of regular vanilla ice cream. Nothing special or dog formulated about it. I don't know why I managed to buy the puppycone still after hearing that, but I did. Dog wound up throwing it up, didn't even come with a dog treat! Would have been cheaper just to buy a regular scoop of vanilla! "Puppycone" MY TITS!!!) Shame on this business, SHAME!!!

The staff is extremely rude! I've been here twice and both times staff is unwelcoming. They gave…read morerude looks to my special needs son. They charge every customer a service fee? And a separate charge for debit cards? Will not be back.
