If I could give this place ZERO STARS I would. I was recommended this place by my mother who's been going here for some time. Wait time was decent for a walk in but this honestly wasn't the problem. My problem was with the male tech SAM! I sat down in his chair and honestly, I should have gotten up the minute he started to apply my acrylic. I gave myself some time to not judge a book by its cover cause who am I?!? He did me absolutely dirty!! I was missing gaps in my acrylic, my nail beds were bumpy. I continue to give him the benefit of doubt and I let him finish. I asked for a simple French tip with a silver line underneath. The first French he did wasn't even close to what I show him. He wiped it off and tried a smaller French tip. Nope!!! Told him to take it off just paint the whole nail white cause clearly he couldn't manage to do lines. He ruined even that. I sat in the chair with tears coming down my eyes and just told myself don't complain, just go pay and go to my other nail tech at a different location in hopes of getting them fixed. I go pay and the lady who is the owner noticed I wasn't happy. I simply told her it's fine I'll go somewhere else to get them fixed. She insisted on giving me a discount and to sit back down they will fix it. I sit down with a younger lady (i wish i remembered her name) she was my angel in disguise . She's working on my nails and SAM comes to me and start saying that it's my fault that my nails look that way cause I hit the LED lamp. We start arguing he's getting louder with me and hands are all up in my face. I'm telling him Its not the paint that was the problem it was the acrylic. No the man continues to yell at me in front of a whole bunch of customers and everyone is just staring. Mind you I was on ft with my sisters. So since your yelling I'm going yell back cause what is wrong with you?! He goes sit back down, the lady is finishing up. The owner comes to me and states since I got French tips it's an extra $10. What happened to saying you'll fix it no worry ?!? Then the lady goes and applies the silver line and SAMS adds in "oh that another $5." Bro at that point this whole nail salon is a joke. I paid the stupid $15 on top of the $47 I paid for the terrible job SAM did on me, give the lady that fixed my nails a $50 tip. As soon as I cash out the owner wants to come outside with me grabs me by my arm and tries to apologize, and beg me not to leave her a bad review for her business . Talking about it's busy day. listen lady from the minute I walked in, to me leaving it wasn't busy. So please don't use that excuse with me. Then tells me next time I come back she'll give me a $10 discount. I don't want no discount and I'll never come back. Cause if you don't know how to control your worker SAM and you allowed this to happen to me imagine any other person that sits in his chair and isn't satisfied with their nails. I was embarrassed as hell and stuck in such an uncomfortable situation. But one thing for sure I never felt that at Crystal nails 494 Main st, New Britain, Ct. Everyone there is so kind welcoming and willing to fix any issues without getting upset or yelling in your face. And yes I have photos to back up what I am talking about. And I also have my finish nails that were perfectly executed by this nice young nail tech. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I showed the original nail tech (the owner) a photo of exactly what I wanted and she ended up cutting them way to short and made the nail way to thick. She said I should wait two weeks to let the nails grow up and they would look better. I then went to another nail tech who did a better job but it was still a terrible job. They need to update their interior an do some dusting. I walked in and immediately got blasted with the smell of acetone. I had called and scheduled a pedicure for later that same day. I came in and they took someone before me to fix her acrylic set. They sat me in the massage/pedicure chair. The massage component was not great and I couldn't really get it to focus on the lower part of my back. The lady who worked on me seemed miserable and had the no-customer-service skills. I feel bad writing a bad review because I'm sure she has her own struggles but I feel like people should know what they might get here. I asked the lady working in front which were gel colors because that's what I was going to get. She directed me in the general area of the OPI gel colors and the little sample nails on the plastic rows. The lady doing my pedicure didn't ask what I wanted when she started. There are no versions of what type of pedicure you can get unlike Tiffany Nails down the street. Nothing special during the soaking/scrubbing/exfoliation part of the pedicure. Some parts hurt a little but I think that's normal for me. She asked me what color when it was time to apply a color I showed her. She was up to the 8th toenail when I realized it was normal polish and not a gel manicure. I asked if it was gel and she said 'No. You want gel? You didn't tell me gel.' She frustratedly removed what she had put on and made it seems like I was solely to blame. She told me it was $40 for a gel manicure I said that's fine I have a gift certificate. She finished the gel manicure. She never stopped and said "Do you like this color" like they sometimes do at nail salons. When she was done she abruptly turned off my massage chair and lifted the side arm. Basically implying git-d-eff out. I paid with my aforementioned card and then she said something I couldn't understand so I said "What?" and she yelled back '42 dollars, 8 dollars balance' or something to that effect. Whoa boy, I am not high-maintenance but this was probably the worst nail experience I've had. I give 2 stars and not 1 because the nails look fine. I am so disappointed with the work that was done with my nails. It looks like a 5 year old did them. I have bumps and dents on each nail!! I came in for a full set of acrylic nails and the guy who was doing them was totally rushing. Also, when I took my hand out from the UV light, the gel nail polish was completely ruined. The guy said not to worry but even after the last coat they looked terrible. I am never coming back here again. Seriously, DONT take in clients if you're just gonna do a half assed job. I WISH THERE WAS A OPITON TO GIVE NO STARS AT ALL!! I however decided to try this nail salon as I had a funeral the next day. I also brought my daughter with me for her first time for nails. Well needless to say the 2 ladies did not have a clean work station, also they did not ready the nails correct. I got a set of gel and my tiny got acrylic set well let's just say they used the same grinder paper and also I asked for a French manicure of yellow and black as it was the gentleman's passed on favorite colors the person free handed it and it looked absolutely horrible and my little one they cut her finger bc instead of cleaning the nails correctly they tried to use the grinder. Then I had no choice because the funeral was the next morning and I was so embarrassed they looked globby and so horrible. Not to mention my daughter had 2 acrylic nails fell off within 8hrs the first night so then she started to bite the rest bc my daughter has a sensory issue. However I have put gel nail polish on her and she didn't touch them no bitting or trying to peel the gel nail polish off. Their for I knew she was ready but not only did 2 nails fall off but when I got home I took the globby horrible looking gel nail polish off to find that they cut my daughters skin around 4 of her fingers an bc of this I had to have my daughter on antibiotics as they were infected. They did not charge me to redo of their screw up but did charge me to soak off the rest of the acrylic nas from my daughters fingers and a poor excuse for applying gel nail polish off. That should of been free. Then now again I had to get them fixed again by Venus nail salon on weathersfield Ave. They repaired the damage and corrected all the shotty workman ship from the beginning. Do not criticize there work or the ladies will have a issue won't talk to you act very irritated, annoyed, p'd off and will sit in front of you and speak in a different language , however they would not speak one word to me.I myself find this very rude, disrespectful, hostile, irritating, and just over all a very heavy atmosphere. The point is I have gotten my nails in the past, gel white , gel pink, and acrylic and needless to say if you want fake nails done find a different nail salon. On 9/10/21, I took my daughter to this establishment for a mommy daughter mani pedi day. The nail tech that took care of my daughter was extremely nice and gentle with her. I unfortunately did not have the same experience. The nail tech kept nicking my cuticle beds and after repeatedly asking her to please be careful and letting her know that she was hurting me, I got up to rinse my hands and my cuticle beds were bleeding. I asked her if she had antiseptic to place on my nail beds and she attempted to pour pure alcohol on them. I did not allow this and ended the service. I left with my nails undone, and my fingers hurting so badly I could barely grip my steering wheel to drive the 5 minutes it takes me to get home. I used antiseptic once I got home and took 2 500mg Tylenol extra strength pills to try and alleviate the pain. After paying 117.99 to be left with pain, and an incomplete service was the utmost slap in the face. I have definitely filed a complaint with the consumer protection agency here in Connecticut, and I'm praying this pain stops or else I will have to go to the doctor for help. First time visitor, and I will never come back here. Affected fingers are my left pinky, right thumb, right ring finger. read more

WORST NAIL SALON EVER! I just got back from vacation and got engaged. My current nail polish was a French gel but was unfortunately chipped from the vacation. I had an interview today and wanted to get a manicure to take the gel off and have a nice manicure for my interview and for being newly engaged! I walked in and asked how much to get a manicure and the man in the salon said $10 then asked a lady in the back who came out in which they said $15. That's pretty pricy for a regular manicure usually it's around $10. I then asked her how much would it be to just remove the polish she said $15 , I've never paid more than $5 she was just throwing around prices. When I told the lady I was wearing gel polish she charged me an additional $5 so the total was $20 for the manicure and removing gel polish. I chose a light pink color which is usually my favorite color. The lady did my nails like she was in a rush, she did not ask me if I wanted a cut or file and she filed my nails uneven. The WORST part was she cut my cuticles and had them soak in cold water prior. When cutting them she made the comment "you have a lot" . She painted my nails quickly and didn't put a top coat. I had also asked for an additional coat to make it darker to which she said "that makes it too thick I can't do nails like that" she then had me "dry it" for 5 minutes after and went on her phone in the back and never came back. I looked at my nails and saw that my cuticles were completely butchered. Unfortunately I had already paid and given tip before I realized how horrible this manicure was and I did not have the time to deal with them. I noticed my left ring finger where my new engagement ring is on was actively bleeding and burning a bit. I asked the man there to give me something to clean it to which he put a drop of a solution and did not give me a paper towel or anything to wipe it off my nail. I was so upset I left & I WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN! I do not recommend coming back here the staff is horrible and the service is the WORST! Praying my cuticles don't get infected. I'll give them two stars because the staff was pleasant. We went for pedicures and gel manicures. Pedicure was $25. The massage chairs are very weird and not comfortable. The worker couldn't get it to work correctly. The TV is positioned so that you have to turn your head to see it. Not comfortable. The polish on my toes didn't last as it usually does and I had to have them redone in a week at another salon. The gel manicure was a little sloppy and uneven. $25 and $5 extra for nail design. The polish lasted two weeks, but the edges are sloppy and my cuticles are ratty. For the price, I can do better. Won't be returning. read more
