I wanted a mani pedicure so they started with my fingers clipped my nails I said that was good but he ended up clipping them so close to my skin there was no nails . At that point I just wanted a color change on my toes they filed them never cleaned it with an alcohol pad left them dusty . I was not thrilled for the price it ended up to 61. They refused do a fill because they said my nails were lifting even though it was a brand new set. I was missing three nails so no problem even tho I didn't think it was necessary. I had previously called and was quoted $45 for a fill with gel polish. When I got my receipt, I was shocked to see that my total was $101.03?! Here was their breakdown: $45 new set $20 to remove existing nails (there were already 3 nails missing) $10 for shape (I asked for coffin, these are square) $10 for length ( ?? these are short) ....so we are at $85. Where's the rest you ask? I also asked,.... They tell me $10 because the polish I chose had glitter in it...what? This is regular gel polish. The rest was tax. Navy initially explained the charges to me however when I questioned her, she walked away and asked someone else to explain it to me. When I advised my nails were short and I chose a regular gel polish, she just shrugged her shoulders. Unfortunately I failed to notice the inaccurate shaping at the time, not that it would have made a difference to them. $101.03 for a regular acrylic full set and my nails are the wrong shape. I guess I'll get them reshaped when I take that drive back to Meriden.

I get the powder dip and the last 3 times it has been chipping. I've mentioned this in the past and the tech said it was me. Last time 5 nails chipped. ok, maybe its typing on the keyboard, however, this week i am on vacation and doing absolutely nothing and 1 nails chipped 3 days after I had them done. This salon also has a rewards program, however, you can only get a basic pedi cash value of $35.00, and then you have to pay tax on it. I spend 45.00 on my powder gel every 3 weeks and pay tax on that. Why shouldn't I get a 45.00 pedi without tax because free is free no?

And I am super vigilant about finding a good nail tech that is up to date with nail trends, techniques, and the type of tips they use. Kari Nail House is PERFECTION!!! Her studio is clean and relaxing. And her personality was the cherry on top. She is understanding of what you want and talks through the entire process- what she's doing, how and why she is doing it a certain way, etc. Her table is clean and not cluttered and she has two uv lamps so you aren't constantly having to move the lamp all around the table to cure your nails. Kari is 3 years experienced in nails- so you know you are in good hands. She is a great conversationalist, there was none of that awkward silence. So after today's experience... I just gotta say: NEVER AGAIN. It has been quite a while since I've had a mani/pedi. I usually go to this place to have my eyebrows waxed. It has taken me a VERY long time to get my eyebrows waxed again because of the last experience there. (And as you can imagine my eyebrows were becoming a bit unruly!) Any who... It really says something when the OWNER of the establishment does a crappy job... again. Because you know I LOVE leaving the 'salon', going home and having to pluck my eyebrows. She did them so quickly, and then said 'all done' and walked out of the room. Didn't hand me a mirror and ask my if I liked it. I guess my $$$ has less value than someone who is betting a pedicure. I did pause to look at a mirror after she did my face, but it's angle is so odd that I couldn't get a good look. When I went out to the car (after paying), I was irritated to see that they were uneven; they just didn't look nice.
