I started a few years back with my legs. Wearing shorts in the summer and shaving constantly was not an easy task when you have thick, dark hair and light skin. I now have completely smooth hair free legs. It's impressive how well it has worked on me. Michelle is truly an experienced professional and knows exactly what she's doing. She makes sure you've had no sun or anything that could compromise results. Very caring with a great personality and takes the time to explain things well. Always making sure you're comfortable and uses different laser levels to have the best outcome depending on hair growth. I couldn't ask for better results. The office is very clean and welcoming. The appointment time set aside for you is scheduled perfectly with no wait time when you come in. I also think the rate is very fair here. There are a lot more places near me now for laser hair removal than when I first started with my legs. I still only go to Michelle for any new areas I've added over time and touch ups if needed. Loudoun Laser is an hour away from me and worth the trip!

Followup to my review from yesterday: Within hours of posting my review regarding two…read moredisappointing experiences with Salon Alure, I received a phone message from one of the managers. Unfortunately, I could not hear the woman's name. I went to the salon today and asked to speak with a manager, and actually met with the owner (Mr. Carmen- apologies if that is not the correct spelling). He listened to my tale and asked if I could wait 10 or 15 minutes and he would have one of his stylists fix the issue. That stylist ended up being a wonderful man named Jesse Z. He was able to diagnose my issue immediately and assured me that bobs are his specialty. He was not lying. He was able to make my hair look great. But Salon Alure did not just simply have someone fix the problem. When I was checking out...they not only did not charge me for today's fix (which I expected)...they gave me a gift certificate for my next visit as well. I certainly did not ask for that, nor was I expecting it. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative. I know everyone has a bad day now and then, Lord knows I have had my share. But my experience today with Salon Alure has renewed my faith and I look forward to my next appointment with Jesse. THANK YOU Carmen and staff for taking my concern seriously and going above and beyond to remedy it. I am most grateful. NCR

Anytime I asked her to clean up an edge or even out my nails to be uniform, I was instantly told "It's fine." I shouldn't have tipped or even paid for the service. My nails were dip powder, uneven surfaces and not uniform by the end. Not to mention my nails were SO incredible sensitive for months after they bled through to my skin after getting the dip off. She had electric filed them down to the skin practically. Gosh, such an awful experience. The place was extremely unsanitary (unsafe), the floors looked like they had never been cleaned, and the table I sat at wasn't even wiped clean. It was as if someone just shoved over a few items on a crowded table and said "sit down" for a free service. But instead, I had to pay. Unprofessional and would never recommend.

My pedicure seemed a bit rushed after that, no wax used and heels and toes weren't exfoliated as is usual. It was a good pedicure but a bit expensive- $35 plus small tip.

The first time I visited Jenny's was a long time ago, pre-pandemic. I don't remember who did my hair, but she wasn't very friendly and seemed to be under an immense amount of stress. I remember sitting in my chair waiting for her to come back. She had to get someone else to shampoo me.... Fast forward, I booked with someone who doesn't work there any more. I remember being on the phone with the "receptionist," she wasn't very friendly and didn't have good communication skills. When I arrived to the salon, there was no one sitting behind the desk to greet me. I sat in the lobby for at least 10 minutes with no greeting. I had to walk to the back to find my stylist. My stylist was amazing and did a great job with my hair. She is the only reason I'm not giving one star. The more recent visit, it was absolute chaos with people running around everywhere, no product to shampoo with, and dirty sinks. I remember one stylist -in-training being absolutely obnoxious and unprofessional, making inappropriate statements to my stylist while I was in the chair.
