I never even got to see Kerri because she cancelled our first lesson THREE TIMES. The first time was supposed to be a Monday night. That very night, she said she sprained her ankle. Ouch! No worries, we said we were flexible and could reschedule. She gave us another date and time. Booked it. That very night of the 2nd appointment, she cancelled again. Double booked, she said. Okay, fine, we gave her the benefit of the doubt, even if she didn't even bother apologizing. We said we can reschedule again. She gave us another Monday night. Booked it. That very night of the THIRD appointment, she cancelled again! No explanation this time. It was a very cold "I know I will lose you as a client but I need to cancel again". No apology again. We were done with her after that. Apparently we had given her 3 too many chances. I understand if emergencies happen such as an ankle sprain, but 3 times in a row? Come on. And normally I wouldn't even bother with a Yelp review, but she always cancelled right on the day of the appointment, she made mistakes that could have been avoided (double booking), and worst of all, she never even apologized!! How unprofessional can you get?? And now we're a little over a month away from our wedding with no dance teacher. Thanks for nothing. read more

Kerri was a great dance instructor to choreograph and patiently teach my husband to be confident in dancing. If you are looking for dance lessons for your own personalized first dance, please look no further - Kerri comes to you and can teach even the most reluctant men to dance! Once we chose a quite complicated song, Hey Ho by the Lumineers, and tried on our own one night with a youtube video - then we realized we needed help. Kerri came in to help us learn our steps at our house and in the local park when we needed more room. It was so invaluable that she came to us, especially with our crazy work schedules and everything else going on with wedding planning during the last few weeks. On the big day, my dress bustle broke so I missed a few steps tripping over my train, but our dance was literally the highlight of our wedding. I can't stress enough that my husband did not want to dance at all and now he is confident in his moves and turned out to be a fabulous dance partner because of Kerri. Thank you Kerri! read more

My husband and I love Kerri!! She choreographed the most beautiful amazing dance for my husband and I to dance at our wedding. She thought of EVERYTHING from what type of steps and moves I could take in my dress to how the dance floor was set up at our venue and everything in between. She met us at our apartment in Carmel Valley always in the best most energetic move and was very accommodating through and through. We loved every moment we spent with her learning how to dance and would even want to continue learning dance from Kerri. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who wants an amazing wedding dance. I could go on and on but do yourself a favor and take lessons from Kerri--she's fantastic. read more

Kerri choreographed our first dance and she's amazing! We started with a slow song "can't help fall in love" and transitioned to faster song "sugar" by Maroon 5. My husband and I rarely dance in public. We had 6 lessons with Kerri and she was able to make it super fun and enjoyable. She video taped our lessons and it was very helpful for us to remember the moves when practicing. Since we did 2 songs, Kerri was instrumental in communicating our ideas to the DJ and helped us mix the two songs and precut the music. Kerri is very encouraging and patient. I would absolutely recommend her if you want to make your first dance memorable! read more

My husband and I both wanted to have a memorable first dance, because lets face it....we plan on getting married once and wanted to leave an impression. We searched for a local dance studio or instructor and stumbled upon Kerri. Get this....she comes to your house! This was such a blessing as my husband travels for work and hates to drive on his days off since he drives all day everyday for work. Kerri met us at our house for the first few lessons and choreographed a routine for us from start to finish. She ALWAYS had a smile on her face and would send us video of our lesson after each one so we could practice in between our sessions. On our last lesson, we met at our venue and mapped out the whole routine on the dance floor which was SUCH a big plus since my husband had a hard time picturing the room when we were make believing in our condo. I dread to think how the dance would have turned out had we not done a run through at the venue....thank you Kerri for suggesting this! All in all, the dance turned out great and everyone was impressed. We have it all on video so we can reminisce on the day and later convince our kids that we did in fact have some rhythm when we were younger. Thank you Kerri! read more

Kerri is absolutely amazing! She made us feel so at ease learning our first dance for our wedding and confident in our abilities! My husband and I are nowhere near professional dancers, so we scouted yelp and found Kerri! One of the best decisions of our wedding! We had the dance lessons at our apartment, which made it so easy and convenient! She choreographs your dance specifically for your chosen song and listens to your input regarding adding or removing any dance steps or moves. You do need to practice, but if you practice you'll be amazing! Everyone at the wedding said our dance was amazing and that it brought tears to their eyes! Such a relief since we didn't want our guests to be bored and luckily we didn't trip/fall. Kerri is simply wonderful and I would recommend her to any couple that doesn't have the time/knowledge to choreograph their own first dance. Her prices are reasonable and she truly allowed me to worry about one less wedding thing! One recommendation I have is that you make sure that your DJ doesn't cut out part of your song that was choreographed! Our DJ had cut out 20 seconds of the humming in the beginning of our song, which somewhat disoriented us after all our practicing. We were able to pull through and have a great memory together due to all of Kerri's supportive advice! read more

Kerri did a great job getting us ready for our first dance as husband and wife. Not only did she come to our house, but she made us feel completely comfortable and was very flexible on timing. Being a guy, I was hesitant to go through with all of this but Kerri and my wife were very patient with me and Kerri made me excited to practice and nail our first dance. The first dance was a huge hit for all of our friends and family and was a huge highlight to the overall aesthetics of our wedding. We recommend Kerri to anyone looking to have an unforgettable first dance and one you'll always remember. Thank you again, Kerri for making our wedding so special! Kyle & Christina read more

I wanted my first dance to be choreographed, even though I knew my fiancé was not big on dancing. I found Kerri on Yelp, picked a song and presented the idea to him. I was pretty shocked when he agreed to do it. From day one Kerri, was excited and dedicated to making our dance special and our own. Her bubbling personality always set the tone at our practices, which helped keep my fiancé interested. The wedding day dance was great. It brought us closer together during the planning of our wedding and bonded us together on that day. We had a great time doing it and our friends and family loved it. They know my fiancés personality and couldn't believe that he took the time to learn and perform our dance. We got so many compliments on it, because everyone was able to see our personalities come out during the dance; which just showed how happy we were to share our lives together starting at that moment. Thank you Kerri. You made our day very special and it was a pleasure working with you. read more

Kerri is sooo amazing!! We hired her to help us with our 2 left feet for our first dance at our wedding and got way more then we expected!! We thought she'd just give us a few steps to know, so that we didn't look like two awkward kids at their 8th grade dance, and she fully delivered a routine! Kerri came to our house which was so convenient and way more relaxed (as I was able to have a glass of wine while we rehearsed)! She kept the move at our level and taught us a few lift, which were fully crowd pleasers!! Kerri is accommodating, fun, funny, and an amazing dance instructor! I highly recommend her classes if you are looking to add a little extra entertainment to your first dance ;-) read more

Kerri was absolutely amazing! My dad and I took lessons with her for our father/daughter dance at my wedding. We did a slow song into a fast song. Kerri did all the choreography along with helping us narrow down a "fast" song. She recorded the end of each lesson so we both had something to reference when practicing. She drove all the way out to my place in Vista for each lesson. I would HIGHLY recommended Kerri to anyone looking for a dance instructor! read more

Having Kerri come to our apartment for lessons every Sunday in the weeks leading up to our wedding was seriously like having a friend coming to visit. With all the stress of wedding planning, our dance lessons were a time when we could just have fun and laugh together. Our guests were blown away by our choreographed first dance and how well it represented who we were as a couple. My husband and I thought we would just "wing it" with our first dance and do whatever came natural. When the DJ heard the song we were dancing to was Frank Sinatra's "Come Fly with Me" he said "I really hope you've been taking dance lessons!" Well, we hadn't...I did my research and called up Kerri who was very sweet and accommodating (even though we were only 8 days away from the event!) She came to our house and led us through a 2 hours lesson that we so desperately needed! She started out with a simple move and made sure we had it down. After that we moved onto some fancier moves and she helped us choreograph our dance. We had so much fun doing it! She even videoed us dancing while we did the dance to reference later. She left us feeling very accomplished and with the instruction to practice as much as we could. The dance turned out amazing and I would highly recommend Kerri to anyone read more

Can I just say that it has always been my wish to be a part of a flash mob and Kerri made this come true for about 20 of us moms at St. Pats Catholic School. We only met with Kerri a handful of times but we were able to pull of what seemed like an incredibly daunting task. She gave us confidence and was super patient with us. We danced to a medley of music spanning several decades at our school's gala aucton event. It was the talk of the eveing! Thanks again Kerri, you rock! We were definitely impressed with Kerri! We hired her to help me and my husband for our first dance and she was great! She really worked with us and what we were looking for. My husband isn't a dancer so he was nervous learning and I like to dance! So she worked with us on what would be good for our dance style. She saw videos and listened to the music we both liked and wanted to use. She gave great feedback and husband and I wanted entirely different dance styles she worked it out and it was great! We ended up having a waltz with some meringue. It was a fun dance and each lesson she helped fine tune our steps and the dance. She was so awesome to work with and she's so patient! Definitely take her advice and have one of you last lessons at the venue -- it give you a great idea on where you'll enter and how your dance will flow. It was super helpful for practices after visiting the venue. Her prices are very reasonable and she'll come to you for lessons. Kerri was the perfect dance instructor for us as we put together our first dance! She was super fun to work with and made every lesson an enjoyable time for us! The experience of putting together a choreography together as a team of 3 was incredible and while Kerri really does go with her heart and does what the music tells her, she is open to suggestions and modifications and hears you out as the bride and groom. She challenged us and encouraged us to really fine-tune a lot of the movements. She came to us and the one time she arrived late, she gave us extra time at the end! Our first dance got half the crowd crying and even some guests asking for a repeat! It was truly perfect. Overall, we could not have chosen a better dance instructor to share a big part of our wedding with! Much love for Kerri and if you're on the fence about the price also, go for it! As we had no dance experience at all, we knew we would need a lot of help to pull off anything for the first dance at our wedding. Luckily we found Kerri and she was amazing at both the choreography and teaching. We had our song picked and Kerri went to work right away working out our moves and teaching them to us, all with the most wonderful and positive attitude, despite our lack of natural ability. We had so much fun with Kerri and can't believe that she had our our entire dance choreographed and had taught us all the moves within 4 sessions - did not think that would be possible for anyone to do. Loved that she came to our house, as was so convenient. My now husband and I hired Kerri immediately after speaking with her. We knew she would be absolutely perfect, and deliver on everything we were looking for in a first dance. We purchased a dance package from her, and then ended up adding 2 extra lessons to make it perfect! She works incredibly hard on the choreography and makes it exactly what YOU want. We were a little nervous at first, but she helps you break down the anxiety with her fun and easy going demeanor. We couldn't believe how good she was at remembering every little detail. After each practice, we were sent a video to document the moves, so we could keep practicing until our next scheduled meeting. We decided to surprise our guests with a choreographed number and I can honestly say our first dance was a complete hit. Everyone loved it! Kerri is amazing, kind, patient, and full of positive energy. She made learning to dance fun and appear effortless. My husband and I enjoyed our lessons and were so happy to have a choreographed first dance for our wedding day. The pictures turned out amazing and it was all thanks to Kerri. Kerri was very flexible and worked with our busy schedule. She was able to teach us a full dance in just a few lessons. She took notes for us and took videos of us during our lessons, so that we could watch it later when we practiced. My husband had taken a few dance classes when he was in college. I had taken one group dance class before and failed to learn anything, so I was discouraged to take any dance class ever again. However, Kerri made it seem like I had more potential than I thought, so I may take more dance classes in the future! If you're on the fence about whether you should hire Kerri then let me be the one to convince you that she is totally worth it. Kerri did such a wonderful job customizing a Latin style dance for our wedding. It was just basic enough for us as novices to learn the choreo but just fancy enough to dazzle the crowd! She encouraged us to put our own characteristic moves into it and personalize it rather than trying to perfect it. It was an amazing crowd pleaser and we've even been asked to do the dance at someone ELSE's 50th wedding anniversary!
