The moment you step inside, it feels as though you've been transported directly to Nice or another one of those quaint French provinces; the ambiance is perfect for good conversations and kwentuhan and is a pretty nice date place as well! You can probably guess from its name, but La Creperie Provencåle has a great selection of delectable crepes just waiting to be explored. If you've got a sweet tooth, choose from their gourmet Crepe Sucrées; whether you want fruits, chocolate drizzle, nutella or oreos on your crepe, they've got it! If you're into more of the savory variety, their Galettes de Sarrasin are worth trying as well. I've also ordered their Greek Eggplant Moussaka (something I will always order if I see it on a menu), and it was oozing with cheese and bechamel sauce. Kidding aside, while the interior's all girly-girly, I think it helps set the mood for the food you are about to enjoy. As for me, I had the Le JJ - a tomato, ham, emmental and gruyere cheese crepe served with a side of greens. Let me tell you though, the plate was lovely! The food was okay for me I guess, it's not too filling and I think it's a great option if you're looking for something light (plus nice to look at). On the side, I had a steaming hot pot of TWG Silver Moon Tea. The teacup itself is super pretty!!! I felt really dainty while drinking my tea and enjoying my crepe. One of the biggest things though about La Creperie is that they already had TWG tea on their menu even before the TWG restaurant came to Philippine shores, and on my very first La Creperie experience, Silver Moon was really, love at first taste so this is what I ordered when I stumbled upon this branch. For those who want a meal in their crepes, Cafe Breton has a variety of meat and seafood fillings to choose from. My favorite however, is their Galette Rustique - a smoked bacon, tomato provencal, mozzarella and egg crepe that is light on the stomach and tastes really good. The ratio of the meaton the crepe is just enough without falling short on flavor. For their dessert crepes, hands down my favorite is the La Pinay. It's a mix of mango topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. The dessert isn't too sweet and the mangoes used are fresh. If the small indie cafe in Fairview called Read and Brew can offer decent Internet for their patrons, so should bigger establishments like Starbucks and Cafe Breton. What I do like about Breton is that their food is mostly consistent. I've tried my favorite tuna melt in several branches, including this one, and found it satisfying in every one of them. My crepe of choice is the Funtastyc, and bananas, being less consistent than tuna or mayonnaise, can vary from branch to branch. Unfortunately, the last time we were at this one, the bananas they used were a little bit sour--not good for a supposedly sinful dessert crepe with Nutella, ice cream, and a dash of alcohol. Because I never refuse food, especially if it's free, I said yes. We decided to try a popular restaurant in Kapitolyo, but even before getting there, Crepeman caught my attention. Aside from it's name, I could also clearly see from across the street that all tables were occupied. I though to myself that from the looks of it, it must be good. I ran inside and found out that they close at midnight, so that gave us about 15 minutes to place our order at the nearby restaurant and head back there to get ourselves our dessert. That was exactly what we did. We got there right in the nick of time as they flipped the welcome sign to say "Closed" as soon as we entered. I decided to get the Fererro Crepe, which has Nutella and peanuts while my Dad got the classic chocolate crepe. They also have some protein selections such as slow cooked chicken in red wine, and slow cooked beef in white wine, among many others. Compared to some restaurants close by, this place was a little bit more spacious and bright. It was a bit kid friendly as well which was a plus as we had 2 toddlers in strollers with us. They also have a good selection of beverages including their frozen hot chocolate and a selection of fruit shakes. We spent a little over 2,300 PHP for 5 adults. We did not order drinks. We had 3 pastas, 1 savory crepe, 1 sweet crepe, and 1 French onion soup. The service was good as is a usual trait of Filipino servers. Price was also affordable and reasonable.
