I've heard about Wowa Kitchen x Cafe for a while from my cousin who has insisted a number of times that I should try it out. Since today just happened to be my free day, I decided to drop by and see and taste for myself what my cousin has been raving about.
It was a really cozy place to have coffee and french toast. Or if you're feeling really hungry, you might want to opt for their selection of sandwiches. According to Karen, one of their wait staff, their bestsellers are Truffled Mushroom Carbonara (P395) and Bacon Benedict Burger (P325). I decided to go for the burger which had two double smoked bacon, poached egg, romaine and Hollandaise sauce with a side of potato wedges. Despite the WHO advisory on bacon, no one's going to stop me from eating those delicious slabs. It's ride or die with bacon, folks! Ride or die.
I started off with a Stanford x Shaw Ginger Ale (P150) while I waited for my food to arrive. I went around the restaurant just to look at the books - you're very much free to browse and read them. I loved the selections they have for books (mostly art books, screenplays and Murakami sets) and their wall of posters of old and contemporary movies. It pretty much set that homey vibe to the area. Wowa Kitchen x Cafe is just small. Inside, it can house at least 20 guests and outside at least an estimate of 10 guests. I counted and it satisfied me. Ha ha!
The food was good and the service was great as well! If you want to come here just so you could have the cafe all to yourself, it's best to come around 2pm-3pm. I enjoyed and freely took photos without being that annoying-girl-who-takes-photos-of-everything-in-a-restaurant-for-my-own-feed-goals. read more
