I have issues with my feet. I'm an RN and ingrown toe nails seem to be part of the job. Yes, I work at wearing excellent shoes that fit comfortably. It doesn't help that I have a high arch that tends to roll my foot out. I visited Fan Nails when they first opened and was impressed by the standard of cleanliness. The spa pedicure tub is always lined with plastic, then the plastic is discarded after the treatment is finished AND they scrub out the tub as well. 10 stars. I have not had an ingrown toe nail since I started visiting Fan nails. I don't find the treatments to be at all uncomfortable, and my feet always feel better after my visits. The staff is so kind, they all want to provide the best service they can. They don't seem to mind when I'm in a hurry and just want a basic pedicure. I'm also a diabetic and worry about injury to my toes. It has never happened. I have been going to this spa exclusively for some time. I missed them mightily when they had to close for quarantine. Even with prescription strength lotion I can keep my feet as smooth as Fan Nails can. Yes I love them, I don't feel awkward there, the owner chats with you from time to time, and the technicians are working to master English. WOW! I'm not certain I've mastered English and I am a native speaker. This salon is worthy of 10 stars, and $20 tips. I'm so happy to have a callus free, pain free, pretty foot! And the polish selection is excellent as I love certain brands and they have those brands in all the available colors. The nail art is very nice, but I"m a little old for flowers. Go see them, they will take great care of you. I need to make an appointment to return soon, as my polish, after 5 weeks is starting to chip. It's fun to take my daughter with me. A girls day out. I am from Sonoma County and was killing time so I decided to get a pedicure. First of all, the salon is immaculate. I was given the best cup of coffee I've had in a long time. The ladies are all so sweet and accommodating. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Kelly gave me a lavender scented pedicure including waxing my feet and and a relaxing foot and leg massage. My fingers are almost all like this with painful skin peeling. I could tell it was going to happen when the lady was cutting my cuticles. I don't know why some people don't know how to do cuticles properly? The nail polish already had to be taken off due to chipping. My toes look good which is why I gave 3 stars. read more

This used to be my fave spot in davis! When they first opened...ever since each experience has been worse and worse. Once they had me wait 30 minutes for my actual appointment because they insisted on giving a favorite client TWO associates? And one couldn't leave her to help me obviously so....next time the man kept yelling at me because i wasn't holding my hand correctly, that was fun. This last time it was just weird...the pedicure water was super cold, the pedicure person massaged my right leg 90 percent of the time and barely touched my left leg, then the manicure lady did a good job aesthetically but man it was painful because she was in SUCH a hurry that she kept hitting my skin and scalding me..despite only me and one other person being there? I dont understand why it was so rushed. They didn't close for 2 hours. And no words were spoken asking if i felt ok or if it was comfortable so i felt super awkward telling them i was in pain or to stop grinding my skin or to put hot water instead of cold in the foot bath? This review makes me super sad since it used to be my SPOT. But not so much anymore. This is my THIRD time trying this spot after the first bad experience so i was hoping to write a good review by now. Ugh. My nails do look OK, hence the 2 stars...but the atmosphere/service/opposite of relaxing environment make it not worth the higher price vs other spots read more

I am thrilled to say that I have finally found a place in Davis to go to.I have been driving from Davis to Benicia for 2 years because I trusted the tech who did my feet there & had been going to her for 11 years. The owner was responsive once I was in the chair & the woman, Tee, who did the pedicure was careful, thorough, gentle--did a fab job. My only (very small) complaint was that in order to communicate I needed someone to translate as Tee does not speak a lot of English. Nevertheless, great job, reasonable price, very clean. read more

i had my friend coming up to visit so i asked for a 2 pedicures 1 manicure. i was glad we could get in fast because it was a friday so i was thankful for that. i enjoyed their pedicure specials before so i thought it would be nice. they did fine with my friend but because i asked for both a manicure and pedicure there was more of a rush. i understand that but my cuticles really burned and bled from not being careful. Also, my right toe nail broke about a year ago and its uneven. i asked for white on both my hands and feet and she told me to pick a different color because of it. i thought she just wanted me to get another color because the other was being used but when i said okay to changing the color she said nevermind. the other employees started laughing and they talked about it for awhile and i just had to sit there for them to finish. i asked my friend if it was just me and she said no they for sure were talking about it. it ruined my day and i get that my toe nail was an issue but it wasn't like i could do anything to help, so my friend and i were just like wow. yea, i cant go back when i was just supposed to relax but became a joke. so thanks for increasing my social anxiety. read more

This was the best pedicure I've ever had! Normally I'm pretty ticklish so no one scrubs the bottom of my feet enough and I'm always barefoot so I have callouses that get left untouched. I never got her name unfortunately, but she did an amazing job and didn't tickle me at all! The massage was also very relaxing. They were so friendly there! I highly recommend Fan Nails. They get really busy but no one rushes to get you out early, they really focus on the customer, but I suggest you make an appointment and not just walk in. read more

I had such a disappointing experience that I don't ever want to be back. I called in to make an appointment for a gel manicure. Never was asked what was on my nails at the moment since that's never been an issue there or anywhere else I've gone, I do however get how it can be a time issue. I get there and was asked to sit down, she looks at my nails and starts taking off the polish, and starts saying how I didn't specify what was on my nails. That she couldn't do them because she had other appointments, and no one else had time. From her words, and her over all demeanor I was so turned off. I said it was fine, if she could just remove the polish at least since she had started and I would reschedule. She continued to, what seemed to me, argue. I felt so uncomfortable and wanted to leave. She pushed and said she could do a fill since I had booked her time already, I said no because that's not what I wanted, that I'd still pay for her time since I was feeling like an inconvenience to her. There's no reason for me to do a service that I don't want, and by that time all I wanted to do was leave. It was embarrassing and even emotional, please take in consideration how you treat customers, who choose to do business with you. read more
