I received an expensive Ooni pizza oven as a gift - the person sending it lives out of state - and Crate & Barrel delivered it. Unfortunately, it does not work with a known manufacturer's defect Ooni wanted me to repair myself after buying a specific tool to do so (that's another story). I went to the Highland Village store today to return it with the idea of the purchaser receiving the money back on their credit card and had the receipt and order number in hand. No-go with Crate & Barrel, as the original purchaser must be there, otherwise it is a gift card for store credit. I wasn't asking for cash, just a simple return. The store manager came over, and he came across as very arrogant and condescending. I didn't take the gift card option, and will wait for two more weeks for the original purchaser to be here for the holidays where we will once again waste even more time doing what Crate & Barrel should have done in the first place.

That said, we also saw a set of 2 chairs + side table for $200ish, so don't be put off by the high end price tags you might see when you first enter. We visited during a sale of some kind. I'm not sure how frequently those happen but I would definitely suggest trying to time your visit so you can get a better deal. We would not have purchased our chairs and cushions at full cost. Bryan helped us and not only was he incredibly helpful, he also left us alone for most of the shopping time so we never felt pressured or rushed. The only disappointment was we thought we could leave with our chairs that day and it turns out they don't have anything there - it's all in a warehouse so we have to wait a week to pick them up.

The moment we walked in, a sales associate greeted us immediately and mentioned the various sales going on throughout the store. Once we made our purchase, we were instructed to drive to the back of the store to pick up our item after the workers wrapped our item with styrofoam/bubble wrap. The part that took the longest was waiting for our item to be brought out to us. We rang the doorbell, the worker took our receipt and disappeared for 15+ minutes.
